      Thank you 😊❤️, we are also excited to see it all come together, hopefully before Christmas we have a place to cook some food. The winters used to be harsh hear now there hasn't been a harsh winter for 8 years, we get snow and freezing temperatures, but when i grew up we had snow all winter though with huge minuses. But we hope to have snowy winter 😊

    Pleased to see you are making some progress on your walls and ceiling, you are working hard, but there is SO much to do. keep safe.
    As I said before, to stop your chickens continually escaping over their fence. Catch them, then just cut their feathers a third or a half way down on one wing. It doesn’t hurt them, as it is just like us cutting our nails. Our neighbours had a chicken which escaped from its run and a cat or a fox got it and killed it. We used to have one which kept escaping over our fence to next door’s garden but we had no more trouble after cutting its wing feathers.

      Yeah we must try something, they don't really bother us anymore as they are protected by the Geese so no one attacks them. But maybe we get the feathers cut just to stop them 🤔

    Hi Dessy & Deivid, I never get tired if watching you both, you're entertaining, resourceful:- meaning you don't need the best of the best to do something:- you make do with what you've got on hand... your chickens are soo funny escaping like that... 😀💜

    I'm so glad I found your videos, just subscribed and am looking forward to more fun viewings. you both have lots of energy and I like that you are doing the best you can with what you have. BUT! So that you can live a long and happy life enjoying the fruits of all your hard work, PLEASE wear proper respiratory protection at all times when working with anything dust-producing: mixing concrete, sanding bricks and wooden beams, cutting things, sweeping the floors...over 200 years, you don't know what has been put on those floors and walls; but even fresh concrete dust has silicates that can harm your lungs...just looking out for you! :)

    Please replace the two damaged center beams when you can afford too, there are very damaged and I don't think there take too many more winter of snow weight down the roof.

      Many times beams are made of cement. Wondering if they could put a form around the beams and apply cement to strengthen them.

    Pointing walls takes a long time. Tedious work. You should watch the idieproject channel. They are building upn a ruin in Portugal. Theo have become very skilled in the art of poiting. Perhaps there is more to see there. Chicks not running away for example. :D Those two have been the good behaving girls until now. :) I think you need to cut some feathers. It is like clipping toe nails. :) You're sweater is surelu telling a story on it's own now. :)

  • @cantcomeupwithausern

    you should have really wet the wall before coating it with the cement for better adherence.

    • @DoBeDiff
      @DoBeDiff  4 роки тому +2

      Thank you! 😊❤️ But we had primered the walls which makes them solid and not dusty so it was sticking very good! Primer is essential when doing these old walls as they are fragile! 😊

    I thought you had to put a lime type paste on the clay walls? I might be wrong but if that is the case water could come in. However I’m sure you’ve done your research 😊

    • @DoBeDiff
      @DoBeDiff  4 роки тому +3

      This is inside wall so not connecting with outside, but we would rather use lime it's just not cheap and we can't afford it now. Hopefully this will be all okey 😊❤️
