not sure about 300km to 16 litres i get 80km to the standard tank 7.5 litres and mines got a slip on and had a tune to get better economy. so 300km is a load of crap?
If only they were street legal here in the US. They would make a fortune selling them. The total lack of a modern street legal Japanese dirt bike here just sucks. No one sells them unless you count the 250cc and under bikes that lack power for anything other then putting around town and goofing off on trails. Not ideal for the long high speed roads we have and often need to travel to get to interesting riding spots.
***** yeah but not in every state and its a hassle that shouldnt be needed. Since its street legal in Australia you would think they could make it legal here too
+plaid13 I have a wr250r and a street legal 450f. They are very different bikes. My 450 (uncorked) is a torque monster, but honestly if I could only keep 1 it would be the 250r. It's a true due everything bike. As long as I do my part, it's taken everything I've thrown at it offroad. Even at 10Kft+ elevation. Has way better street manners than the 450F. That said, I agree not ideal for long interstate travel. No bike that is will hold a candle to it off road. DS is always a compromise.
+13thPaleRider The 450F is a race bike. I didn't know it was corked....? Too much maintenance as well. Check out Adventure Oz's DR650 playlist. They cut off like 22lbs and made it a lot nicer over all. Cool series of videos.
I’ve always wanted a bike with a rear back sprocket...

this is such a great bike!
Now if the US market would get onboard with a street legal wr450f
You mean north american market, Canada could really use a DRZ competitor as well.
Whats the Yamaha web page to order this kit ? ?
brilliant video and bike thanks
I like the saddlebags to carry tools, and bottles of water etc
How hard is it to get to the air filter once you put a see through tank on?

13thPaleRider yeah not ideal. I would love to see them make a 450 version of the wr250r.

+XPWNZERX I for got to mention, the reason I pointed out the DR650 videos was to show someone really minimizing the list of DS Compromises
That alpinestars jacket is wicked! Can someone link me?
would I be able to ride this bike comfortably. I'm 6'1 and weigh 210
Late, but yes, definitely.
sadly not really a 2016
How do you know?
the 2016 has a backwards motor like the yz450f.
Shane Pinney oh. hmm.
300 klms on 16lts? is this for real?
NOT the new 2016 WR450
+Marcel Rijk Yeah I figured that too...they don't make a tank like this for the actual 2016..
it's not a bike you're meant to ride on the highway for 1hr straight.. that was a dumb test
This kit is not available in Australia, Yamaha know nothing about it, that includes Peter Stevens😂😂😂
But can it take a big mx jump
Now if the US market would get onboard with a street legal wr450f
It is in Canada it has a dual sport vin
+JewlsRides heard US market in 2017 so we'll wait and see
