You are spot on to my way of thinking of the solids. 100%. Thanks for doing these videos. They are very informative and with accurate information. See ya in the next video.
I appreciate your thoughts on the basics. I have had a similar experience with Kona, but I do find their availability helpful. Yes - Art Gallery!......
Love your new sewing topic for Friday. I totally agree on the Kona cotton. My favorite is Riley Blake. Buy it by the bolt when Sew Yeah is at the warehouse! Thanks Stephanie.
Great information Stephanie. I always wondered specifically about the difference between Moda Bella Solids and Kona. I do believe that I’ve had more fraying with Kona. Interesting to hear your perspective on this topic. Years ago when I was buying fabric just because I liked it I didn’t pay attention to quality but now I can see the difference. If I can see through a fabric forget about using it!
And there we go! I agree with your opinion of categories for these solids Steph! The worst I tried to use is one called “Amish Black.” It was a total nightmare! Thanks again💕🧵
Am a big fan of solids...and batiks. Can't go wrong! the online quilt shop i use interestingly has kona solids on sale this week. may just have to stock up!
I used to buy Kona by the bolt for my black and not so white. I needed a little more for a project and ordered it, it was really thin. I sent it back and made due without it. Once I get through what I gave, I won't buy it either. Thank you for this.
I'm sure you will get questions about thread, I hope you will also address thread conditioners - I love Thread Magic but it's ridiculously expensive for a tiny amount. I find most beeswax to be too dry and crumbly. Is there another product out there? I do a lot of hand sewing that is a lot more pleasant to do with conditioned thread!
This was very interesting and informative. After making the legit Kits Little Hooter, I will not buy Kona again. All that work to make the quilt and the fabric is sub-standard. The fraying is shocking, you have to starch the heck out of it as it stretches, and when ironing the seams show on the front. Never again.
Thank you for your insight into solid fabrics. I now have a better understanding of the 'solid world of fabrics'! 🙂
Great info Stephanie, Thanks so much

I learn so much from you, great video.
Great tips Stephanie. I agree about Kona. I wont use it.
I struggle using solids, but this was fantastic information. I always gravitate toward blenders.

Thx, so much info!
I love that solids don't have a right or wrong side!
Yes! Same with most batiks.

Cherrywood Fabrics is 30 minutes from where I live. I drive by there all the time but have not stopped in yet.
@@grandmatina6619 that would be dangerous for me, but oh so fun!
Hi from Lynn in England xx
Hi there!
