I played halo 3. Gears of war & the new cod all 3 back to back to back. The best years in all of my existence.

we got way better fps games than halo and cod 4 these days. the writing is hackneyed YA level power fantasy and the gameplay is bogged down by the terrible health regen system
God I remember this era of gaming. The peak of shooting games especially from Xbox. Halo 3, COD, half life 2, rainbow six vegas, Gears, Lost Planet, Crackdown, Fear, Splinter Cell.....miss this era

I remember playing online warfare on the 1st Halo with my siblings. And then raiding enemy camps on the story. Good times

Halo 3 definitely was one of the major players that contributed to the success of the Xbox.
Arbiter coming to High Charity to evac Chief and Cortana will forever be my favorite moment during this campaign. That loyalty was so cool.

This game was designed with no expectation that it would ever be on PC.
This was the only Halo game I played. I remember loving how it looked and felt. It made me love the universe of Halo.

I never realised Buck was actually in Halo 3... while it may not have been officially him, at 4:38 you hear a "Sergeant" talk about hostiles, and Johnson replies with "gunny" which is one of Bucks nicknames....the voice is clearly Nathan Fillion too

But back in 2000 or 2002 when I was with my grandparents that sadly passed in 2017/2020, then my sheriff uncle that passed in 2016 unfortunately and with his daughter my cousin around my age!
We heard about this launching Xbox when we first had a N64 and other previous Sega and Nintendo systems, we saw the game of the year Halo Combat Evolved and my sheriff uncle bought this Xbox In 2002 to play spend time with, and we all my uncle cousin and grand parents were sitting together in the living room watching sharing playing halo in 2001!
Halo 3 was the golden age of FPS I hate the ending of warthog run I absolutely rage in that mission i grew up playing the halo game series it means a lot to me

Watched this because I got soft locked on the bit just before you enter the interior of the new ring to set it off.
Sgt Johnson wasn’t jumping down to initiate the sequence so I threw a grenade at him and fixed it. And then he canonically died so I was sad.

Still my favorite Halo story to date. seeing chief and the arbiter around marines feels surreal. Infinite is def what bungie needed to drop but it feels like the story narrative has become dry or too much. prime 36o days had the best games imo.
