Anyone who criticizes her for missing the last note has no clue how difficult it is to hit such a high note exactly, or to sustain such a high note. She did so beautifully and professionally! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Sad to see negativity in the comments here already. Anyways, Lucy was amazing! Such a gorgeous voice and facial expressions, and props to her for that incredible high E at the end!
Ms Lucy holds that High E Note, I faint and then in the end and as I watched with my parents my mom says, “the only other Christine who’s held that note like that was when we saw Sarah Brightman together!” Lucy left us in awe. She and Emilie ….. holy moly …… we seriously need a cast recording 2022 of both NYC and London. Beautiful performance and it’s been replayed more than once. Bravo 🎭🙌🏽🙌🏽
i was freaking out after this to literally everyone over how amazing the voices were and how solidly she hit all the notes also their voices blend so well!!
This was great. And anyone that doesn’t know , the actress playing this role has support from click track on the top e in the theatre ( pre recorded )so to sing love like that was amazing
@@lomahenry1326it means the final note (an E6) is ALWAYS pre-recorded and played live at the end of this song. Singing that high note for up to 8 shows a week, months in end, is guaranteed to destroy your voice, if not cause physical harm because your throat and lungs are being strained so hard. So for this specific final note, it's always lipsynced to a pre-recording of the actress's actual voice (the rest of the song is 100% sung live). The E6 in this performance was not lipsynced, which makes it even more impressive (though it seems like she slid a little off key in the last few seconds).
God I’m so excited, as a gift for my 18th birthday my mom’s booked us tickets to see Phantom in London for March!! Watching back this performance makes me even more hyped! :D
Thinking of HM right now and this being one of the sensational moments she may add to her crown. Lucy was astoundingly brilliant and brought it for the night.
I just have to write another comment. I can't stop watching this video and listening to this. It is absolutely amazing and sends goose pimples down my spine. Magnificent.
I wonder why this musical hasn’t gotten a second Live recording. I mean, so many other musicals have. Why not this one? I’ve been hoping, wishing, and praying that it will happen and…nothing.
I’m hoping that with the recent filming and online streaming of proshots that Phantom may follow suit. Especially now that both flagship productions have their first black Christine’s and just extremely talented casts all around, it would be a great time to do so!
I just knew there was gonna be negative comments. Everybody sings a different way and Lucy’s vibrato is good enough for me. They’re both good and that’s all the matters ❤️
FUN FACT: the phantom stood up high is a double as in one shot you can briefly see Killian stood behind the cameraman (00:10) - nice little trick they came up with 😀
Put some vibrato on that last note, and it would have been much better and not sound so strained. But I did like the esoteric feeling she gave to the ending, just that one note needs polishing
Odd take alert. Personally I would’ve preferred the phantom at the end of the whole thing have been reunited with a old childhood/young adult love Who returned to the opera house after hearing about what was going on there. They meet each other again to find that love is still there between them despite all the years they haven’t seen each other. And they runoff together in the end. And he moves on from being the phantom because he found The love he was looking for. The phantom got reunited with his One true love from long ago. And in a way also he received love from his star student Christine. In the end he got the love of his life from when he was a younger man. (A romantic love). While simultaneously getting (sort of) Love that great teachers get from their students.

In my personal opinion, this was truly the performance of the night. Simply stunning.
Agree

Exactly, and in the theatre that last high E is 95% of the time recorded!

She definitely slipped at the end but it wasn't that bad. Still amazing performance ♥
Agree. This Woman Is a great artist

And the music is very good! The Household division band & Lt Col Haw conducting the show.
Just fantastic

Yeah I was shocked by the hate I watched the queens jubilee Lucy was the best performance black woman magic😇🎶❤️

Amazing 😍😍😍
Now the the Queen has departed it's even more impressive...

OMG when the phantom appears
Lucy is so wonderful!!
Who is the electric guitarrist player????

She’s a her very limit, even in the studio version there’s no vibrato. Pity because she has an angelic voice…
Was her cadenza live?
She made a post about not wanting to mime for this performance, so she may have opted to do most or the whole thing live.
