I cry a little bit for me, and a little bit for Marco. the fact that my idol fell so hard while i still have so many memories of his music and his shows. I hope all those things aren't true. His music gave/gives me so much joy.

One of the most famous tear jerkers in Holland. Many, many feel the lyrics if someone is gone, you loved intense.
This song will be remembered for at least the next 60 years untill the generation who grew up with this is gone....
Thanks for reacting to his. Even though Marco is in difficult times right now, this performance has been my favourite performance ever since I was young and it's great to see other people liking it too. You should check out more songs from this concert, he really was in his prime here.
Marco allegedly did a #metoo, there is a scandal about The Voice of Holland now. I saw some videos, March was hugging some kids sort of like Joe Biden. So there is now #ophef. And the media is talking about nothing else. Forget our problems, haven't you heard to latest about The Voice?

Marco has been one of the greatest Dutch singers. Whether youre fan or not, everyone can sing along with at least one of his hits.
Unfortunately he's in trouble now after rumors of sexual harrassment - though he signaled and asked for help of the general attorney to investigate these rumors. Then just last week or so I heard that one girl pressed charges against him and he countered with charges against her and her mother. To be continued.

I was a teenager back then and my mother was a huge fan. She played this dvd so many times I can still sing along, even though I don’t really like the songs. And this song hits hard for me in a way, this because my mother died a couple of years later due to cancer.

It is just the way you said, you can interpret it in two ways. Losing a love because a relation is finished or because the person has passed away. Therefor this song is also played a lot with funerals here in the Netherlands. Personally i think it is one of his best songs...
In 2004 my dad passed away and this song means a lot still since then. And 1 day after the girlfriend that i had broke up with me suddenly without any reason. 1 month before even have been to a concert together with her in the same stadium to Marco Borsato. It is a emotional song also because of that. But i believe things happen for a reason and meeting people as well. 🙏

When MSN was still there i have had her on it and that was so strange that a wellknown music artist knew me that i didnt knew before i knew her. Never mind, his music is pretty much Dutch staple. I'm in my late 30's, my first dance was with Marco and he's been a huge musical influence in the Netherlands for decades.

Don't forget that it currently is only a story / claim. He has not been convicted of anything. We live in a great country where you are innocent until proven guilty. Lets hope that everything is simply not true and slander, because Marco Borsato is a great singer that is known and liked all over the Netherlands.

Everything surrounding Jimmy Savile (after a lot of legal mistake) only got seriously investigated after his death, so not really surprising he did not get convicted, or is it?

I never liked Marco, but many do, he got great lyrics I agree, but I dont like his voice. But the way he did so it is perfect.

There is gossip, so far I have only heard about one teenage girl who may not even be the one pressing charges. May be all made up without a pattern.
