Being a Dutch veteran… thank you. It’s Al a matter of quality to the max. The music, the voice, the song text, above all… the message. It makes you stronger, bring proudness back into your mind.
This song still makes me emotional. At the beginning of the Corona outbreak in the netherlands, people were expressing their respect/support for the doctors and nurses fighting against the virus. Every evening images of that, Made by drones with camera’s were on tv with the sound of this song.
And i want to say, i love your reactions and i think you are beautiful person!! You’re doing great!!!

Every time I hear this song, it brings my grandfather a little bit back to me. He was a POW in WWII in Japan, but he survived and raised family well despite all PTST issues and worked his fingers to the bone. I was too young when he died at 65 of heartfalure to realise it all, because no-one ever spoke about it. But this song tells all about the struggle he must have felt.
I wish my son soldier on,he take his own life 1 year ago.we try to help him but he don,t want it..now we have to soldier on for our other kids..I think I can..😥😥😥

this song was made to honour the veterans, for the remembrence of ww2 and all the wars after that. Unfortunately, it's meaning got lost due to covid19. My husband is a veteran of war, so I love this song, that honours him. Nobody can see my husband is a veteran, but he has his battles still and he soldiers on. I love him for having done his duty to this country (the Netherlands) and for going on.

This was chosen to be out national corona anthem. Although it was not written with this purpose. It is really very beautifull. And I love their singer. I needed this song and mostly your words that came with it....Yesterday was great. Top of the mountain and today I came down again. Wanted to do all sorts of stuf. Did nothing, gave up. Hardly left the sofa. I let my head mess with me way too much....Making all the small things harder than need be, let alone the bigger things in life.... Today everything looks unacheavable. I can be so much happier. Just standing in my own way, way too much... Specially today. Crap. Crying now. But thank you for accidentally saying what I needed to hear when I needed it.....

Paul you are so wright whit your reaction . i whas also depressed and feeling alone but you and your hxc Canal put me trough a difficult time (the pandemic) . in Holland we had a lockdown and a nightclock a view months ago and as a single not married guy like me that whas really a dark and difficult time. But now i have a dog and he is just 8 weeks old and so now a liability to him . and that whas my best discussion ever because now a have someting to care for and when i come home he is there to welcome me . so everything is going great now. I recently talk to the lead singer and he is a funny down to earth guy and a talented vocalist.. I had no idea he was in this band as he never mentioned it... Someone else told me.. Superb song.. His vocals also remind me of mick Hucknall ( simply red)..
