  • The trial in the death of Ahmaud Arbery continues on day 7 in Glynn County, Georgia on Nov. 15, 2021.
Ahmaud Arbery was shot and killed on Feb. 23, 2020. Cellphone video leaked to the public shows two armed white men in a truck approaching the 25-year-old Black man as he runs down the road. One of the men, later identified as Travis McMichael, and Arbery struggle over McMichael's shotgun before Arbery is shot and collapses.
Travis McMichael, his father Gregory McMichael and William "Roddy" Bryan, who recorded the video, are all charged with murder in Arbery's death.

I laughed when I realized the jury included nine white women. After all, most women have direct experience of being driven alongside by men in vehicles saying 'they just want to talk to them'. They would have known how terrified Ahmaud would have been. The guilty verdict was just.

People need to stop placing so much importance on race
When it comes to juries. I mean, just because a juror and a defendant have a skin color in common, That does not mean that the juror will be on the defendant’s side. I’m white like the defendants, but I was appalled and sickened by what they did to this young man.
