😂😂😂 actually, they might because if we follow their track-record from the past years… they did give out in 2021, as freebies, toothpicks with No5 paper adornments on top to celebrate the 100th birthday of No5… so just like the nail file was a freebie once and now is made for purchase, I believe that the toothpicks could potentially be coming back too as purchasable product… allegedly 😂😂😂

Thank you Dacob for being there to knock some sense in all of us. I have the black double mirror and I’m content with this. I may buy the Chanel brush but not this set - 1) because I do not need all three and a lesson I learned from previous brush set purchases: if you do not need it and do not use it, it’s never good value; and 2) I wouldn’t want that poor quality leather travel case to clutter my space even if it’s given to me for free! 😅
The brush set cases and nail files instantly gave me a *gift with purchase* vibe and you just validated that hunch!
But I did manage to get one of each of the mirrors and plan to make a little Chanel framed display for my closet 🤔 😂

Agreed with all of your points. I was surprised the brushes sold out so fast. I already have really good brush sets from Sephora so I didn’t need anymore. It’s all about the mirrors for me. I would have bought the burgundy mirror if it was the same shade as the burgundy on the inside of the black classic flaps. I like the idea of looking at a classic flap turned inside out in a color way.

it could have been nice to make the brush case bigger to add more brushes but it’s cute more compact too for travel. i plan to use the foundation one more for cheek and cream contour.
the SA at the boutique gave me a lot of attitude and pressure when i turned down the mirror and nail file tho - quite a turnoff. i plan to shop thru the website moving forward.

I'm a Chanel make up lover and I've always loved the "luxury" feeling their products give me, as well as how they almost never irritate my skin compared to to other brands. I can't afford their bags or other items (well I could save money but it will be absurd for what I earned to invest it on it) so make up is my thing. When I first saw the brushes pouch I loved it, specially 'cause I'm a lilac crazy lady. But fast I began to feel uncomfortable with this release. I was thinking, you're gonna spend a lot on this brushes (I only have interest in one of them) just bc of the pouch, and that's so similar at what you do when you buy an extra item when you want the freebie associated (in Dior tipically) So your analysis made me see it more clearly, and I know now I don't want to purchase this set. I still love the mirror, and it's a money that I feel better wasting, as I would have it many time. Also, I must say I'm feeling bad on how the limited editions release in my country, Spain. We just seem to be the ones that got the wastes from other countries. It was imposible to buy the Délices palette here, and i've got answers from Chanel telling me that I didn't achieved cause it was so exclusive, what felt a bit insulting as at the same time they were still promoting it the spanish webside.

I agree for the most part. I do, however, have the same Alma bb and my hardware is perfect. I also have the Speedy 20 and the lock is still pristine. I don’t baby my bags. I use them. I think I’ve been really lucky.

I also have nail file as a freebie, but not the brush container. I heard somewhere that the collection colour choice is to celebrate their nail polish colours. I recognized "ballerina", ( which is a very popular polish and sells out quickly), immortelle and rouge noir in the range. The rouge noir mirror is gorgeous, but not interested in anything else, have enough brushes 😂😊❤❤❤❤
Yes, all nine colors are actually nail polish colors too. 🥰🥰🥰💖💖💖 Diva is my fave though. That Barbie pink mixed with Coco’s tyrian pink is just delicious 🥰🥰🥰💖🍓

My boutique did not receive the pink or lavender color sets, so I bought the burgundy brush set and the matching mirror from my SA. I was online right after midnight and it appeared they had not released. Luckily, I checked later that day and not only were they available to buy, the pink brush holder set was already sold out. I managed to buy the lavender brush set with matching mirror and the pink mirror. I will admit to having considered purchasing the nail file, but came to my senses. I think that is enough for now. 🤣

I have bought the Makeup brushes. Wanted them in a diva but imo the exposed one was not that good haha little bit uneaven on the top. I could clearly see that in a picture so in rl 😅😅😅 i purchased rouge Noir. Im waiting for the package ❤ so curious how it would look like. Im curious about the brushes tho, becouse this case looks small to me, i wonder if the brushes will be also smaller then the regular ones. I have a micror and a mail file so i dont want this colored ones to double.. but if it will be possible to buy black brush holder i would really prefer the Classic one
Here in Australia, Chanel will have a popup store in Sydney specific for Code Couleur collection as the invitations were sent to VIPs and booking is required. I haven’t have a chance to get in touch with my SA if they will stock all the colours in the boutiques or in the flagship stores. I wish they could have done the items sparkly (glittery) or shimmering that would be epic!

I want the mirror in Ballerine and Imortelle (?) (the light lilac coulour). Not interested in the brush sets (I own enough make-up brushes), but the mirrors make sense, since I bought the black one back in the nineties, and I take it with me everywhere. It now has a scratch on the outer backside, and mine doesn't stay closed anymore (hich doesn't really matter, since it's in the pouch), but it's a great mirror (I even bought a silver one from Tiffany with my name engraved in about 2003, but as beautiful as that one is, I by far didn't use it that much as the Chanel one). So having this mirror in two different beautiful colours makes sense to me (in Europe / Germany, the collection is dropping tomorrow).
Maybe I should buy it in the Rouge Noir as well 🤔? 😂
The files I don't think I will purchase; I have a very good glass nail file from Zwilling (if I remember correctly, mine was about 15 Euros, maybe a bit more, and Zwilling is a very good brand for "nail stuff" and other scissors (and I think knives).

Thank you so much elaine 🥰🙏🏻💖 I am not using a lippy. I am using a Chanel gloss stick called baume essentielle which can be used as cheek highlighter, eye highlighter and lip highlighter. Its in the color “Lilas” and I applied it only on the cupid bow and bottom center part of the bottom lip. I also applied it to my cheekbones and to my eyes. 💖💕🌅

Hi Dacob! To be honest I am a sucker for packaging. I can buy any beauty product and even not use it just for the packaging, the imprint on the eyeshadow or powder. I have done it with Chanel, Dior you name it. I have those brushes though and actually the blush brush I have double. The leather boxes well do not make me want to spend that money on, the nail files definitely not, but the mirror I agree is useful and I would like it in one color. I do not like Chanel going cheap though, and through the years I have seen that they do that a lot and they shouldn't really. In my country, Greece, we don't have the variety of items, especially beauty items, that other countries have and we cannot order online neither from Chanel or any resale site either, so many of these products I cannot get my hands on anyway. However, I must say that I am a little disappointed of Chanel lately going cheap, having the Customer Care service they have and so on, so I have pulled away from the brand and expanded to other luxury brands . Anyway, thank you for the review and I look forward on watching more from you xx

You think it is more durable but you are wrong. It is the same exact quality as the freebie container. In fact, the brushes container is also a freebie. You are de facto paying for the brushes and not the container. The nail file freebie is also the same exact quality as the one they are now selling. It is also the same exact model but just in white.

I bought the pink mirror. I didn’t buy the brushes because I already own two of them. I thought the brushes were a relatively good deal. I doubt very much that the case is leather.
The case is leather but it definitely feels like bonded leather… cheap quality…
the mirror will come with a black pouch for all colours. The external packaging also looks like the classic one i.e. no colour coding.
Just saw the pictures a few hours ago too… alas my suspicions were correct… I thought they would cheap out on the pouches and boxes and that is why they did not show them in their ad photos. Sneaky 😉💖
I was able to purchase the Immortale lilac mirror in store. Such a gorgeous color, was trying to obtain the two pink shades but were sold out both online and in store.💜
For some reason my boutique had all the online exclusive to purchase, I got to see the blue and the fiery red, but only one per person. I was not able to buy more than one.

I have the foundation brush - it’s no good. I have the dual ended eye brush, the original with natural hair this brush performs very well. I would not get the new one which is synthetic - not good. In fact, I would no longer get any of the new Chanel brushes, they’re all synthetic now and don’t pick up product well. I agree with you, this is a gimmick to sell their brushes because no one’s buying them now. The mirror is good, I have one but I prefer to bring a powder compact in my bag. The glass nail file was also a freebie in the factory collection.

Oooh Chanel - and it’s not even Christmas! Nobody is storing their brushes in the leather canister once they’ve used them, this is the bit you keep for a year then throw away. I could not have handed my money over faster if the brushes were colour coordinated though. Pure cheek! The mirror is great because it’s super thin - but I have it. If I have to go to a boutique to get a colour one, I don’t think I can be bothered 🤷🏻♀️. ETA All mirrors already sold out online in Australia, all nail files left and the red brush set 😅.

Chanel did cheapen out. I did buy the mirrors and saw them at the boutique. The box and pouch for the mirror are the typical black and packaging. I do like the mirrors.
The brush set was meh to me. I didn’t like the nail file as the SA said if I use it I will need to replace it eventually. In the case, no thanks.
Glass nail files can easily get damaged and flatten out.

I feel like these look like cheap extras that come with purchase when you buy over a certain dollar amount in makeup. The brushes are nice but they are tiny! Not worth it. The nail file is silly and most of us have plenty of two-sided mirrors that we got for free from some place or another. No, I wont be buying them even though they say Chanel on them. I dont think Coco would have had anything to do with this.
