I could never understand how Jerry Seinfeld was called "America's funniest man". I cannot think of one single person of his generation who could hold a candle to Robin Williams.
Jerry Seinfeld was NEVER funny. He was more the straight guy as in Abbot and Costello. Being a 58 year old half jew I can tell you he was pushed up the ladder, and if not for being on Johnny Carson, you would never had heard of Jerry. The gift of the Seinfeld Television show was the ENTIRE CAST that was surrounding Jerry. Seinfeld did what he always did best, he was the straight guy surrounded by the loony cast. Remember this, Seinfeld ALMOST never made it, they were about to cancel it after 2 years... Here is the proof, when anyone ever talks about the Seinfeld show, what do they say? OMG Kramer was so funny. Elaine was so cute and funny, oh that dancin of hers. OMG Georges mom and dad were hysterical.... WOW !!! George Castanza, he is hysterical and such a loser..... Or any of the regulars or guests... No one ever talks about how funny Jerry was on that show because he wasn't funny.
Jerry is good too...it's all who,is currently popular at the time...Lenny Bruce, Steve Allen, David Steinem, Gary Shandling....it's Bill Burr,Doug Stanhope , etc now

I remember when he came on Johnny Carson on a Friday night, that was 1 1/2 hour show. He took over complete control and everyone was about pissing their pants laughing. They had a devil of a time breaking for commercials. When they did return well there goes Robin again and Johnny couldn't stop him. Robin was pure genius and a wonder to behold.

Robin always seemed to be the kind of man who would keep going forever, he was so full of life and energy. It's been five and a half years, and I still can't believe he's gone.
His wit was so quick that all these other comedians literally could not keep up.. if you notice they just sit back and watched how it was done.. it just came so naturally to him he didnt have to rehearse it was like breathing for him. He was absolutely amazing! He will be missed.
It's one of the world's great injustices that the most broken ppl try the hardest to keep others from being in pain, the same pain that they are in every day. Such selflessnes and it's often never rewarded. If you know someone that's always wearing a smile and trying to make others feel better, pull them aside and just check on them and I mean really check see what they're struggling with. You might just save a life that day.
The saying "The world will never be the same without him" is true now...it's a gloomier world we're living in now, I bet if he' still alive right now, he'd be cheering up the world with all of his jokes about racisms, trumps and others... 😢

My sister is schizophrenic, i have bipolar disorder, c-ptsd and GAD. We LIVED by comedians and comedic movies that we'd watch. Robin Williams passing was just DEVASTATING to my sister.. I thought it would hurt me more. Its world altering to actually realize the tears of a clown. To spend your life making the world smile...just to hide such fear and confusion. I hope he's somewhere beautiful.
I wish so badly that Robin Williams could’ve known and felt all the love that the world has for him and would’ve done ANYTHING to help him in any way he needed. My heart hurts.
He had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s but *knew* there was something else going on. He wanted to spare his family the journey of a diagnosis, wanted to control how he died. And, sadly, Lewy Body Dementia *then* couldn’t be diagnosed until autopsy.
Its such a strange sensation when I watch videos of Robin. The pure joy that I get from him just being him warms my cold dead heart. The pain of knowing he has left this world aches in my chest even 5 years later. Its odd how someone you've never known can affect your life like that. Its rare and strange and beautiful, just like him. Having watched the documentary his wife made about his life and then his last days gives you this incredible glimpse of what he was going through in the end. I hope he is fully enjoying every part of what comes after this life. You are missed Robin. I hope you can see how loved you are.

He new what a genius Robin was and that when Robin was in the building he basically got to take the night off. Just lob a couple questions his way then enjoy the show like the rest of us. Giving Robin the spotlight and room to work is not being "nothing in his presence".
Simply put? The Talk Show hosts became a part of his audience, we would see their reactions & laugh even harder. The only one I felt bad for was Martha Stewart. She was trying so hard to not appear frustrated & angry, but then? She got an off guard moment & just lost it, laughing out loud!! R.I.P. Robin when you left us the world got a bit darker. 😢

Lou body dementia is a hard diagnosis. Honestly don’t blame him but I do think we all wanted more Robin he had so much more to give
