Oh, he broke. He definitely became very broken indeed. The song implores him to shine on "like the sun", as he had in his youth, whilst at the same time acknowledging the (then) broken frailty of the "seer of visions". So sad.

The first 5ish minutes of this song is the one of the best pieces of music ever written. So much soul and emotion in Gilmour's guitar playing. I listen to it over and over again. My eyes well up and I get chills every time. The rest of the song is great too, but I really love the first 5 minutes before the lyrics start.

I saw pink Floyd with several of my friends and we enjoyed it highly. We were 8 of a crowd of over 50,000 people's. I had never seen such crowd. Little kids to 80 year olds and possibly even older all enjoying the great music. I would save my vacation days to attend events like this. As soon as I learned of a concert like this I'd put in for the days. It often was early enough that they would never deny the days. The concert was all over the news and when I went back to work everybody on 1st and 2nd shifts even if they didn't like us to see if we had been arrested. The lasers and the light show among the
