    Playtester here - just one additional note that discarding cards for time has to happen during the action phase. Sometimes folks do it during the buy phase as well - and this seems like a shortcut that doesn't make a difference. However it does make a difference if your action card or some other effect would end your action phase (e.g. 1 success on Furious Strike ends the action phase -> if you didn't discard cards for time before that, you can no longer do it this turn!). Excellent video by the way (as always!)

    You can rescue victims in the middle of your movement action. The rule book says, "At Any point during the Action Phase you are on a green Exit space, even if passing through..."

      Yes, this is a good one to point out. I even had an interesting situation the other day where I had added movement as a bonus for saving someone during a sprint and had gone back to save a 3rd person, and I realized that after all was said and done, I still had my final movement of the Sprint left and had to stop for a moment and think about if it was still valid to use that movement. This was actually in a playthrough I did on my page (Maple Lane) and I wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something illegal in a video playthrough I was going to be posting, so I had to stop and think about it.

    Here are a couple things that I missed while playing.
    One. Each knife attacks only one victim. I had three victims in a space when Hans attacked and there were three damage per knife and I killed all three victims when I should've only killed one.
    Two. I didn't realize that victims that are being guided by you will never go into Han's space.

    Don't know if this was mentioned already, but the rule about raising bloodlust when a victim dies does NOT resolve if a victim is 'killed' by being replaced by a maniac. This only applies to Feature Films that include killer minions, of course.

    Yeah, most of those rules are in the rulebook, except they can be easy to forget about or misunderstand during your first session. My own miss was the rule about not being able to reuse an item once its associated token has been triggered. Actually, that's not very explicit in the rulebook, but was clarified on BGG.

    For new players, if your black final health token shows a 1, 2, or a 3 you would do the fallowing: 1 heart you just add the white health token, 2 hearts would add the white health token and 1 heart and for 3 hearts add the white health token and 2 hearts. I see a few peeps are still getting this wrong.

    I've only played a few rounds and really loving it. This is probably a silly question but I'm not quite 100% sure how the 'Planning' card works. I would assume its just indicating that your "next horror roll" you get the success dice indicated... however I don't see why 3 success dice would be any more helpful than 2. Seems a bit redundant so I know I must be misunderstanding something here.

    • @willmaughan4404
      @willmaughan4404 Рік тому +9

      I’ve also been a bit confused about what the Planning card is referencing, as it’s not very clear on the card itself, and there seemingly isn’t any further information to be found in the rules reference, or online. However, I believe what the card allows you to do is add more dice to your next horror role, to improve your chances of a success; not give you an automatic 3 successes, as you may have been playing it so far. In other words, the breakdown of using the “Planning” card would work as follows: 1) You purchase the “Planning” card, during the Planning phase, using leftover Time from the Action phase. 2) During the next window for player card use, which I assume would be the next Action phase (unless this card can be used to boost reactive cards during the Killer phase), you play the “Planning” card. 3) You make a horror role. 4) Depending on your result, you will either receive an additional 3, 2, or 1 dice for the NEXT Horror role that you perform. Let’s assume you got 1 success on this, which gives you 2 extra dice for your NEXT Horror role. 5) You play a different player card e.g. “Sprint”. 6) You make a Horror role for Sprint, using 2 regular dice (if we assume the Horror Track is within the 2 dice window), as well as 2 extra dice (which you received for playing “Planning”), therefore giving you a total of 4 dice to roll for “Sprint”, instead of the 2 you would have normally had. In other words, the “Planning” card, is a way to boost the amount of dice you roll for the next horror role that you perform. At least, this is my understanding.

      @@willmaughan4404 I believe your explanation is correct. Note that the Icon Key (on both page 10 and the back cover of the core rulebook) say the Red Die Icon means 'Roll 1 Additional Die'. Obviously, multiple Red Die icons will gain you multiple additional dice on your next Horror Check. Rodney covers this in his How To Play video, and no doubt Quackalope also plays some Planning cards in his playthroughs.

    • @Keanotix
      @Keanotix 7 місяців тому

      In some of the Feature boxes, there are unique action cards (such in Maple Lan/Dr Fright) that has an extra row on the card for 3 success stars, giving you an even better result (it's the convince card btw). But the main reason for the extra dice is to improve your odds of getting two stars most of the time.

    • @Keanotix
      @Keanotix 7 місяців тому +1

      For most killers it's true. The only exception I know so far is the Ratchet Lady from Wolfe Asylum (S2 I believe), but her Killer Board and rules sheet make a point of telling you this out right. So unless a card or dark power says otherwise for your killer, they should have an upper limit which would be whatever health they started with.

  • @shachna

    I'm still confused about exactly how to handle the puppets. What happens if they are out of range of the puppeteer?

    • @CulBluVlogs
      @CulBluVlogs Рік тому +3

      Their next move will be used to get back within range of Geppetto. If the puppets are set to attack after movement, then the puppets will attack per normal. Note, that this can result in a puppet that's 3 or 4 spaces away from Geppetto to take out a Victim, or attack the Final Girl. This is the same logic that Killers will follow when they target x thing, move y spaces, and end up in a place with victims/Final Girl (assuming that victims/Final Girl are not the original x thing).
      Generic Example: Final Girl plays "Fireworks" card vs Hans. Hans is 4 spaces away from the "Fireworks" token. Hans MUST now walk towards fireworks during the killer movement. A terror card is played during the killer phase that has Hans move 2 spaces, and then attack twice. Hans moves 2 spaces towards the fireworks (using shortest path). After Hans moves 2 spaces, he ends up in a space with 3 victims. Hans will now attack the 2 victims, even though they were not his "original targets".
      Geppetto specific example: Geppetto is 5 spaces away from puppet Z. Geppetto's current movement speed is 2 (and subsequently, Puppet Z's movement is 2 as well). When the Killer phase activates, Puppet Z will use ALL of its movement to try and get back in range of Geppetto. Puppet Z will move 2 space towards Geppetto using the shortest path possible. Afterwards, Puppet Z has ended up in a space with 3 victims. According to Geppetto's killer card, Puppet Z (and the rest of the minions and Geppetto) will attack once after moving. Puppet Z takes out 1 of the 3 victims ;;
      On the next Killer Phase, Geppetto is 3 spaces away from Puppet Z. Geppetto's current movement speed is 3 (and subsequently, Puppet Z's movement is 2 as well). At the start of the Killer phase, Puppet Z will use ALL of its movement to try and get back in range of Geppetto. Puppet Z will move 1 space towards Geppetto (which puts it back in 2 range of Geppetto), and the loose the rest of its movement. Afterwards, Puppet Z has ended up in a space with 0 victims. Even if there (hypothetically) were 2 victims adjacent to the Puppet, the rules dictate that the Puppets will loose the rest of their movement after getting back within range of Geppetto, so Puppet Z will not move again until their next turn (despite only spending 1 of its 3 movement points).
      Hope that helps
