    I know for a fact, border crossings in Africa are a challenge esp if you hold a passport from another African country (eg Kenya, for me), and i can also imagine the tenacity you must have required to deal with that.

    I am genuinely in awe. It is amazing you managed to get through it alive! I'm wanting to do this with a few friends once we finish school. When I last went to Zimbabwe, it was hard to get past the police blocks without losing at least $100. We found the border crossing from South Africa to Zimbabwe absolute hell and visas proved a problem (being British). Have you any tips to bypass this? Also, getting the 'right' car plus insurance (we'll only be 19)
    Again, amazing video!

    • @KMGAProductions
      @KMGAProductions  6 років тому +27

      my only tip is for you to be patient and have no schedule or something very flexible.. I had 79 roadblocks on the trip (counted them) and you have to take each as a game and give away some cigarettes, cokes, small usd notes instead of big money.. or ask where is the closest atm and it s usually so far away that they ll let you go :) Car insurance just take the COMESA one, covers about everywhere

    • @KMGAProductions
      @KMGAProductions  4 роки тому

      Cape to Cairo or Cairo to Cape Town? Sudan is fairly easy. You just get a 2 weeks transit visa from their consulate in Addis. They ll require you to have the following country's visa in advance. So you cant plan on a visa on arrival in Egypt and you have to organize it before. For the vehicle's Carnet de Passage and insurance it is standard procedures, like for the other countries. It is one of the countries i enjoyed the most..

What's the problems i might face & when did Zimbabwe did apply for your paperwork before hand? & what obstacles and hurdles did you encounter... I appreciate your a very business person. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thank you so much. God bless you and keep up the good work.

      Bien y usted? At the moment, it is unfortunately impossible to do it due to the situation in Ethiopia with land borders closed and the not so great situation in Sudan. In addition the covid requirements add a lot of admin and difficulties. I would wait it out a bit if I was you.. In terms of paperwork, you need a carnet de passage for the car, COMESA insurance for the vehicule and then your visas that usually can be taken at the border or at an embassy en-route. Depends on your nationality. Dios te bendiga

    Nice experience. Just wondering are you a South African resident? If not what was needed as a tourist to buy a car and drive it through the african continent. Hoping on doing something similar.
