I am genuinely in awe. It is amazing you managed to get through it alive! I'm wanting to do this with a few friends once we finish school. We found the border crossing from South Africa to Zimbabwe absolute hell and visas proved a problem (being British). Have you any tips to bypass this? Also, getting the 'right' car plus insurance (we'll only be 19) Again, amazing video!
my only tip is for you to be patient and have no schedule or something very flexible.. I had 79 roadblocks on the trip (counted them) and you have to take each as a game and give away some cigarettes, cokes, small usd notes instead of big money.. or ask where is the closest atm and it s usually so far away that they ll let you go :) Car insurance just take the COMESA one, covers about everywhere

Hi KYGMA Productions!! What an amazing trip. I'm thinking doing it in 2022. I would love to speak to you about it and have a better understanding about the logistics especially in terms of Sudan. Thank you!!
Cape to Cairo or Cairo to Cape Town? Sudan is fairly easy. You just get a 2 weeks transit visa from their consulate in Addis. They ll require you to have the following country's visa in advance. So you cant plan on a visa on arrival in Egypt and you have to organize it before. For the vehicle's Carnet de Passage and insurance it is standard procedures, like for the other countries. It is one of the countries i enjoyed the most..
had just recovered from getting malaria in Mombasa and wanted to focus on the hike and on enjoying it so the camera stayed in the car, sorry. Mt Kenya is so majestic that I wouldnt have been able to portray it right anyway
Guys, again.. There are definitely no KFC or even restaurants in some parts of the African bush.. If you think it s abuse or bad, please teach me a quicker way to kill a chicken without a sharp knife, I ll be waiting... (the chicken was dead at the first turn of its neck)
How many auto repairs did you need to do? Also are there enough petrol stations on the way? Finally, which roads are dirt roads? I assume even the dirt roads were passable on your regular (non 4X4) sedan. Thanks.
absolutely none, bless the Toyotas! Only some tyre problems and ran out of Freon gas for the AC just in time to cross the Sahara. All main roads except some very small parts are tarred. Most secondary roads to get to particular sights, parks, lodges, etc. are dirt. Petrol is easy to find except in Sudan. Had an extra emergency 15L in the boot though
