I was relieved at this cutscene. Shooting Mordin had me feeling so much guilt, not only over my betrayal, but also over the possibility that I may have doomed an entire race to extinction. Having Wrex personally track me down to call me on all of my two-faced bullshit and try to blow my head off with a shotgun felt almost like vindication.

Paragade is better, meaning you go renegade most of the game (for the funny dialogue and insults) but do things like cure the genophage and unite the geth and quarians
Wrex did not even need another agent in STG to find out about the betrayal, he was in the war room when that conversation with the dalatras happened. He was less than 10 feet away. lol.
you need either to have Paragon/renegade nearly full or to retrieve his family armor in ME1 and you can convince him to back down before Ashley kills him
It's ironic how the Dalatrass says Bullies don't have many friends when she's the one trying to sabotage the Genophage for the Krogan.....yeah....what the hell she thinks SHE is.

I always end up doing it paragon, im a sucker for emotional attachment in video games, I don't think I could honestly sabotage the cure if I was shepard, so I couldn't do it in the game either

i'm still kinda disappointed bioware didn't include him as a squad mate wrex was awesome, it just doesn't feel right without a krogan in your team for a suicide mission
If Shepard decides to falsify the genophage cure, this happens. You don't lose all Krogan support however, as Wrex apparently neglected to let anybody else know before going after Shepard.
Renegade Shepard is more extreme, because thats what this war needs. For instance: Killing the Krogan could save the galaxy. Who's to say Wrex will survive Earth? If he doesn't everyone is completely boned, because only the Krogan would be able to recover from their losses fast enough. Its safer in the long run. Wrex is already nearly 1000 years old or older; he may not have that much time left anyways(They never state the Krogan life span, but they can be older then Asari)
@CmdrMander Check some ME lore. At the ranges this confrontation was going down in, a hardsuit's VI cannot detect the hypersonic rounds fast enough to augment the shields in a way to deflect them.
@AARONMACKENZIE Was Virmire any better? Ashley can kill him with a pistol a couple yards away. Again, no shields or barriers. One pistol shot and Wrex was down. Sure, she has to shoot him half a dozen more times to make sure he actually dies....but still. You'd think his shield/barrier would have protected him from an effin pistol shot to the back. And if not, you'd think he could have survived long enough to put up a better fight. All in all, this scene was better handled than Virmire.
Was the quality bad? You don't dislike a fucking video because you didn't like the outcome of the video, the author is just showing you what happens if you take that choice. Dislikes are for the video, not just because he picked a bad choice in a game to show it to everyone.
SO everyone's Shepard looks the same? They aren't making you use the looks of another Shepard. THis game is an RPG. What do you gain from limiting this customization. Really how does someone else's Shepard ruin the game for you?
The emotion from Wrex being betrayed that badly... was enough for me. I mean, you had to convince the guy at point blank while he held a shotgun at you that destroying the only possible cure to his species genetic disorder was a good thing. When a Krogan is emotionally charged and not shooting the fuck out of you with a shotgun, I mean... do I need to finish that sentence?

You lose a BUNCH of krogan support. You lose Wrex, you lose his Krogan Mercenaries, you lose Clan Urdnot, you lose the Krogan Clans...actually, if this happens, you pretty much only have the first krogan military division and maybe Aralakh Company. You lose all the rest, so that's about a six hundred war asset loss.
I had a high enough renegade to talk ashley down so I didnt have Wrex say anything about her. I felt bad shooting Mordin... And I felt bad shooting Wrex, too. Renegade Shepard just offs people left and right. :(

The gun Wrex uses is a claymore, which is of Krogan make and is specific to Grunt in ME2. The gun Shepard uses is a Carnifex, a gun Mordin gifts to you in ME2, which you also use if you betray Mordin. These details are a nice touch.
Also, the advertisement for Carnifex is stated to have the image of a Charging Krogan "Don't you wish you had Carnifex?" That pistol is literally advertised as a Krogan-Killer
Man, this shit is dark, but has some logic behind, cos Krogans, as stated thru the whole trilogy and related media, are mostly a violent species (except for Charr and the other polite dude at Illium), then came Grav and the whole Bloodpack...only thing that stop me to sabotage the cure were Wrex and Eve...but I would say I do dispise the Quarians even more, because their uber stupidity to start a war in the midst of a bigger conflict and to never look for a new planet in the GALAXY🤦♂️😡, all and all, I saved them all just for the Reapers...btw, I wonder why Mordin didn't implement some kind of prophylaxis to lower the birth rate among the Krogans, he knew the danger🤷♂️
In Mass Effect Wrex said he respected Shepard's choice of leaving either Kaidan or Ashley to die on Virmire. To see him shouting at the Commander that Kaidan/Ashley was dead because of him/her... It hurts, which was Wrex's intention.

You know, if Wrex was still alive (but Ashley killed him without my authorization in ME1, when I tried to sympathize with him about curing the Genophage >_>) & that I choose the Salarians over the Krogans, I would definitely do the same choices as you. & that includes not triggering the Renegade actions, since it didn't feel right for me to shoot him, after what I did to his species.
It's not justifying a genocide...it's justifying not curing one. I'm not necessarily saying shepard should have lied to wrex, but if I had the choice I would tell WRex that it was a no go and get resources from somewhere else, or at least barter with him so that he had to help b4 I risked my life trying to save his people. The factor the game doesn't put in is that you're risking your life for wrex's people, but would he do the same for humans? Doubt it.
how does it mean that? There are just as many hints that the Krogan will go back to fighting as there is that there will be any kind of peace. The only difference is that if Eve dies, and or wrex dies there is absolutely NO chance that they will be peaceful. In the best case scenario you hope wrex doesn't get killed as soon as he goes back to tuchanka by a male who wants his throne.
@Bebopvrgn I didn't much like the way the Virmire killing went down either, but it can be justified away. If Shepard does the shooting, he could be close enough to negate the usefulness of shielding. If Ash does the shooting, you could always claim he just didn't see it coming so he didn't have his defenses up. In this scene, he's in a fairly prolonged, pitched fight with multiple enemies.

the carnifex is meant specifically to take down krogan. It is the most powerful pistol next to the paladin

But Mass accelerators are beyond damaging. I can't stress enough how much carnage a simple side arm can wrought.
