I remember first hearing this story about the Tusken Raiders back when I first played Knights of The Old Republic way back when. It was interesting to find out that Tatooine wasn't always a desert world.
I think that's likely that Disney will re-canonizes old republic lore, there really isn't much of reason for them not too, and a new KOTOR game would be awesome.
@Jason Rasmussen Ever watch the interview Mark Hamil did to promote the newer films that was filled with passive-aggressive double-speak about how Disney fucked Luke's character hard? I think the most telling part was when he said something along the lines of "they said this isn't _your_ Luke anymore, this is a _new_ Luke" I don't mind Disney canon for the most part, but they did ruin Luke's character pretty fierce.
Not unless you do all of the above. Kill the ones who can't be pacified. Pacify them with religion, and then kill them. Then enslave whatever is left, then kill them too. Then write a book telling how they were all savages and you were the heros, and how the heros killed all the natives while laying claim to helping them become civilized when really you weren't going to let be become civilized and were just going to kill them anyway: men, women, children. But leave that part out, and say "We were colonizing for ""Freedom."" Good story I think. :D #WarNeverChanges.
Minor correction! The Kumumgah separated into *THREE* species! - Jawas - Tuskens or Ghorfa (frequently referred to as sand people) - and a third species who have been dissolved into obscurity, either because of the harsh climate or fighting against the tuskens! Statement: Deviation from the truth is punishable by death. Look up SWTOR's Jedi Consular story on Tatooine! ;)
Wait I just did the Consular story on Tatooine, didn't it say there were originally 4 species?? The way I remember it: 1.There were 4 species originally 2. Destruction of the planets environment happens, one species disappeared (maybe this is the rakatans) 3. The three species were already seperate and fight over the planet 4. One of the species is defeated by the sand people
Generation Tech It sounds like it would've been a MUCH larger game according to interviews I found online. I just played KOTOR 2 with the restored cut content mod and it was really great. It feels more like an interactive movie than a game.
Burger king Aka king of america You're an idiot. Boba Fett was a human clone. You were thinking Mandalorian, but at that point in time, Mandalorians were only a culture of several alien races; the actual Mandalorian species were dead, much like the Sith Pureblood race that originally lived on Korriban inspired the Sith Order.
Burger king Aka king of america Except even then, they're not a race, the Mandalorians are a culture. Humans, rodians, twilek, etc, the Mandalorian culture contains many species. I only meant that in the Star Wars universe, humans would generally be considered the "human race" etc, but even by your definition, a single race would require a common biological ancestry. Its kind of hard for (most) of the star wars species to produce offspring with the others. Mandalorians are not a race, my friend, but a culture.
Yeah right, it got wrecked; THAT'S why a planet in a fucking BINARY STAR SYSTEM is a desert! Not, like, because, maybe.... it's in a fucking BINARY STAR SYSTEM, and is too HOT to have liquid water form in substantial amounts!!! These EU authors have the dumbest imaginations EVER, zero sense at all.
As someone who actively writes as a Tusken Raider on a Star Wars roleplay board I approve this video. Their culture is very fascinating. And yes they can read. :)
About the Tuskens Lucas got that idea from Dune originaly. It was theorized in KOTOR that the Kumumga (No idea how to spell this correctly) might have been the predecessors to humans in the galaxy...
JITCY9107 The masks also have distinctive features that vary from person to person. They are the way they are out of fear. They attack settlers because they don't want to be enslaved for their technology again.
You guys don't get the reference, LMAO guys seriously he is doing a joke or a reference to Dark Knight's start "TELL ME ABOUT BANE, WHY DOES HE WEAR THE MASK!"
It's amazing how the Rakatans have changed the galaxy. I've visited Rakatan Prime myself and inspected the ruins of some buildings. I've even found pieces of the Star Forge. I've learned a lot about the force on that trip.
Dude! You make great content...you're covering stuff that a lot of the other starwars youtubers aren't covering and that really sets you apart from them. Please keep making videos. They're really fucking good!
I'd love you to do a video explaining why luke at the start of episode 5 didn't pick up "any life readings" on Hoth but seconds later is attacked by a Wampa monster
Before I watch this let me just say i love the Tusken raiders Concept in star wars so much..i don't even care what the video shows yet and I'm going to thank you for it anyway..thank you.
Those poor tusken raiders sound a lot like Muslim women in middle eastern societies. Come to think of it... tattoine sounds a lot like the Middle East.
+Generation Tech You're welcome man, You're like us it seems! We too need to work on Getting more Subs Our videos are Pretty Good too, just need advice xD anyway keep it up you guys! looking forward to more
according to kotor and some other legends material, there were human weapons and other labs undescovered below the planets surface. i always hoped to explore this in kotor 3 but that looks like a pipe dream
The mandalorian is copper skin, can negotiate using sign language from tusken so he likes sorgan which is jungle, which tatioine was originally so he could be a Kumumgah
I know they are supposed to be the most evil and ferocious beings in the galaxy, but does anyone else think the Rekotta look kind of silly, and that their species name reminds one of Recotta cheese?
The Rakatans.... We need another Trilogy on the rise of the Ancient Rakatans with their revived dark force powered machines and Dark side influenced technology.....
Ever seen a hairless cat? Imagine a humanoid version. That's a Tusken Raider for you. And Jawas are rat-like. Explains why Tuskens hate Jawas.................and almost everything else.

well it is legends as is Kotor unfortunately but who knows maybe they will make it canon or better yet they'll make another KOTOR game finally haha
I think that's likely that Disney will re-canonizes old republic lore, there really isn't much of reason for them not too, and a new KOTOR game would be awesome.
Thay are systematically destroying star wars. I hate them

@@darknessapproaching7772 Me too.
I hate sand, it's coarse, irritating and it gets everywhere
Huh
At least it isn’t rough
That’s what Anakin said ....
In your shorts 👙🔥👿
That awkward moment when you accidentally join a rebellion by watching a seemingly innocent video
*Loads Shotgun* Well, at least I won't have to go to English Lit anymore.
I thought the lesson is to purge the natives before you colonize.
+Syncretic Views
Eventually the slaves rise up and overthrow your civilization. Better to purge them outright.
LordVader1094 not unless you brain wash them with religion

That's exactly what we did... I mean they... I mean... Hey, look at that beautiful butterfly! Praise Jebus! ;-)

This is why I love KOTOR. It gives you interesting lessons about the lore of Star Wars.
just playing masseffect right now and while it's not bad it's just sad when I think about what KOTOR 3 would've been like
Generation Tech It sounds like it would've been a MUCH larger game according to interviews I found online. I just played KOTOR 2 with the restored cut content mod and it was really great. It feels more like an interactive movie than a game.
The Rakatan Empire just loves glassing the shit outta planets, don't they.
yea but they got it pretty bad in the end karma ya know
Generation Tech That too
Burger king Aka king of america You're an idiot. Boba Fett was a human clone. You were thinking Mandalorian, but at that point in time, Mandalorians were only a culture of several alien races; the actual Mandalorian species were dead, much like the Sith Pureblood race that originally lived on Korriban inspired the Sith Order.
Onyyxx Firehazard to add to what you said the mandalorian symbol is the skull of the mandalorian species

Damn rakatans I hated seeing those eye stalks in kotor
yea it freaks me out kinda like hope earings
This is a awesome video. Tatooine got wrecked.
yea used to be a nice place haha
Generation Tech Had it been nice still maybe Anakin wouldnt be such a sandy vagina.
+Daemon Blackfyre lol he would've been even more pampered probably
Generation Tech Yea. That could've been worst for the galaxy.

Master Chief has another helmet under his helmet...obviously. You know nothing about Halo lore.
Tattooine is in many ways like Dune and the Fremen.
As someone who actively writes as a Tusken Raider on a Star Wars roleplay board I approve this video. Their culture is very fascinating. And yes they can read. :)
They are very much part of the Dune influence in Star Wars, since they are very much the Fremmen.
Lol, that evil Disney Vader >:-)
How accurate...
That shot of Darth Vader actually scared me while watching this video. 😟
Thanks for filling in all info on Tatoonie. I knew some of it but had not read that much into it.
+David Spurlock no problem that's what we're here for
I died laughing at Darth mickey
About the Tuskens Lucas got that idea from Dune originaly.

It's the zhell species
TELL ME ABOUT THE TUSKEN RAIDERS! WHY DO THEY WEAR THE MASKS?!?!?
He explained it in the video; the masks are to protect their eyes, noses and mouths lol
JITCY9107 The masks also have distinctive features that vary from person to person. They are the way they are out of fear. They attack settlers because they don't want to be enslaved for their technology again.

Ahh the broken hearts and minds of a once proud people!
The Tusken Raiders sound a bit like the Fremen from Dune.

thanks I appreciate it!
I really enjoy the way Allen delivers information on Gen Tech.
First Galactic Empire: I'm the most evil nation in star wars! [Palpatine laugh]
Rakata Infinite Empire: hold my blue milk
I'd love you to do a video explaining why luke at the start of episode 5 didn't pick up "any life readings" on Hoth but seconds later is attacked by a Wampa monster
so the Sand people wore what is a rudimentary "Still Suit" re: "Dune"?
I like this guy's sense of humor. I also appreciate his strong spine in his willingness to protect human interests from evil aliens.
Am I the only on who thought they were born like that's? Lol.
lol what with goggles on haha
VeNate13 I used to think that was their actual faces when I was younger too
Metal mask with spikes comes out of mother's vagina [BREAKING NEWS]
Just another nod to Frank Herbert's Dune (the Fremen people)!
Finally found a video about Tatooine before the Rakata Infinite (Eternal) Empire...
So, Tatooine's history is essentially Mad Max.
LOL at the ending
Before I watch this let me just say i love the Tusken raiders Concept in star wars so much..i don't even care what the video shows yet and I'm going to thank you for it anyway..thank you.
So all those people Anakin killed were actually human?
no not human buy some kind of alien species maybe a few of them are humans
Generation Tech ah ok
IWP Nah, just ancient aliens that had "devolved" from a bunch of jerk aliens.
So many laughs your dry humor is Rokkin!
2:19 there is only one story teller.
ThomeTeque but thats a story for another day
Love your videos. More, more, more!
haha thanks
Dude Jawas unmasked are the most terrifying creatures in the Star Wars universe.
Observe & Report was a very underrated film.
Great video and THANK YOU for NOT using the Disney refference too much.
We need a show like book of boba fett or obi wan kenobi but about the tuskans
Those poor tusken raiders sound a lot like Muslim women in middle eastern societies. Come to think of it... tattoine sounds a lot like the Middle East.
+1Corinthians1:3 Very good observance.
Chase1493 it is
Lyndon Ford IKR
Anakin Skywalker is from tatooine.
Jesus originated from the middle East.
Anakin is space Jesus.
And the Sith are well the Sith
What was the vid from 1:10?
a movie called observe and report it was pretty terrible actually but had one or two pretty funny scenes
Generation Tech Alan, did I ever tell you that you are my favorite host of the channel?
+Julien Sciola thanks :)
Its interesting how similar tuskens are to mandalorians and it makes sense that din djarin is able to relate to them and communicate with them
I would love to see a SW's movie based on a character from earth whom made it to the core systems
really enjoying your videos!
Oh...I was expecting a video about what Tusken raiders look like under their masks, rather than an expose on Tusken lore and history.
lol the ending got real serious real quick
Your channel needs more subs man, your videos seem to be way on point!
Thanks haha we're working on it
+Generation Tech You're welcome man, You're like us it seems! We too need to work on Getting more Subs Our videos are Pretty Good too, just need advice xD anyway keep it up you guys! looking forward to more
Awesome video. Subbed!
awesome welcome to the channel!
Had an epiphany over tuskens THEY ARE FREMEN!
In KOTOR it was implied that humans and the Raders were once the same.
Don't know about everyone else, but I find the noises the Tusken Raiders make are pretty funny sometimes. Even if I've been jumpscared by them before.
yea same their funny sounding
HAIL TO THE EMPIRE
according to kotor and some other legends material, there were human weapons and other labs undescovered below the planets surface. i always hoped to explore this in kotor 3 but that looks like a pipe dream
Why are the pictures warped? It looks weird.
So true on unmasking points

The mandalorian is copper skin, can negotiate using sign language from tusken so he likes sorgan which is jungle, which tatioine was originally so he could be a Kumumgah
That mickey mouse vader cracked me up lol xD

Tuskan raiders are pretty cool
I think Darth Mickey was one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen.

Damn the man, long live the empire!
I loveeeee pre-rakata/rakata era lore history!
3:02 got me! 😂
I have read the book that the Tusken raider story tellers from it was amazing it had so many good images
I can just imagine what a battle against the First Order would be like...
I know they are supposed to be the most evil and ferocious beings in the galaxy, but does anyone else think the Rekotta look kind of silly, and that their species name reminds one of Recotta cheese?
what video was that from where the naked guy gets shot?
a movie called observe and report
Thank you.
a luxurious planet that becomes a desert? is this Dune?
Awesome video....how often did people (humans) take baths?
Great job!
The Rakatans.... We need another Trilogy on the rise of the Ancient Rakatans with their revived dark force powered machines and Dark side influenced technology.....
They kind of look like the Weequays from Jabba's palace.
Excellent! Check out the legends book 'Kenobi' for more Tuskan goodness!
I could be wrong, but I always heard Wilson was the same guy who played Tim's brother.
Always wondered what a breen looked like under there mask
I thought one of the unmasked sand people was standing guard as Chewy and Solo were being readied for tossing to the sarlac in ROJ
So, Tatooine got resurfaced, but its natives survived by. . . hiding in caves. Right.
4:48 That is not what I was led to believe I would see when I read "Tusken Raiders Unmasked"
Great video!!!
thanks!
Now I know what ancient Jawas look like!
Are there any tales in the SW franchise about Tusken Raiders taken på the dreaded Sarlacc, or did they shun the pits for all it was worth?
Ever seen a hairless cat? Imagine a humanoid version. That's a Tusken Raider for you.
And Jawas are rat-like.
Explains why Tuskens hate Jawas.................and almost everything else.
What did the galaxy use as an epoch before the battle of Yavin?
i came across this backstory playing the jedi shadow storyline. in the old republic
That... is really awsome
haha thanks
Thanks for the amazing videos how about a tusken raider yell 😉
Our world will never decline.
where is that screen saver from that is awesome
pretty sure Tuskan Raiders are just space Muslims.
