However, if we are judging how the Tuskens tortured Shmi based on how the Tuskens treated Boba in TBOBF (Men, women, and children beating on their captives and malnourishing them), then that entire village literally battered the shit outta Shmi every single day and legit tortured her physically and psychologically. And considering the clan that Shmi was with was one of the more violent Tusken clans (not the ones like in TBOBF), you can’t blame Ani for wanting to lash out. Again, not saying what Ani did is right at all but if I knew that entire village beat on my mother literally to near death I mean I think the dark side will consume you to do the unthinkable.

Anakin could dream sense his mom was in trouble millions of Lightyears away but the ENTIRE Jedi council and hundreds of Jedi that came and went could not sense That a Sith lord was a politician ??? Yes, I know politicians are inherently Evil but COME ON !!??
Palpatine was using the Darkside to cloud the Jedi’s visions into the force to hide his true nature. All force users can go stealth in the force….it isn’t a far stretch for Anakin to feel his mother in mortal danger

What comes around goes around Anakin did nothing wrong, nor did he do anything right, his actions simply became a consequence of what the others had done to his mother prior ~ from a Gray Jedi

I always thought this scene was the biggest blunder in the trilogy. They should have shown it thoroughly so that is fall to the dark side would be more gradual.
Padme attempted to have his mother freed almost immediately after the battle on Naboo. The aid she sent learned watto moved after losing everything and sold shmi to cliegg Lars who freed her. Jedi attempted to find watto to learn where she went but were unable to locate him. This is why no one went to get her. Shmi also didn’t want anakin to find her as she sensed his attachment to her would prevent him from achieving the great things he was destined to do. This is in comics and the novelizations.
I can honestly see both sides. On one hand it was wrong, extreme and just plain too much for Anakin to slaughter the entire camp of Tusken Raiders. He did it in a rage, despite knowing it was the wrong thing to do. No matter how much pain we're in, it's never okay to cause it. Anakin was wise to never tell anyone about that night, besides Padme and Palpatine. But on the Other hand, I completely understand why Anakin did it. Anakin's mother was one of the few people that he cared about, and her loss devastated him in multiple ways. Anakin is a perfect example of how most people that cause pain and destruction are in pain themselves. That doesn't justify it, but it at least helps us understand WHY they did it.

It’s also stated in the expanded material that the Tusken raiders are the ones who took her but there were tuskens in the village that were not raiders. Not all tuskens are raiders.
