Review of the Whatawatches X Squale Corso Italiano dive watche. These are based on a modified version of Squale's Sub-39 case, which has been designed in collaboration with Whatawatches to feature a more elegant 20mm lug width and a slightly shorter lug to lug. This new case is designated the Sub-3920.

I would say you are a lucky man, Dave, getting that watch given...but you have worked hard on your channel and deserve it.
Absolutely Agree
An adorable guest this time!
My name is Dave, and I co-produce the most gorgeous Japanese babies you've ever seen....wow, that is a wonderful treasure Dave.
Have owned this watch for a few weeks and it’s a joy to wear every time. The thought behind the design tweaks and the packaging including that wooden box is great. Whatawatches, nice job!
Beautiful watch... But the highlight was 4:45 when your new baby became co-host. 👍 👍
Agreed
That has to be the coolest watch box I have ever seen. It's like a mini briefcase but for a watch.
Great to see you include your family. Oleg did so recently as well. 👍
Your baby is adorable! Watch is pretty nice too 😀
I have been drooling over this watch the past couple days. Then viola you post an update!
Outstanding! I adore Squale, and this one is gorgeous. With regard to the “sticky” bezel, I had a similar experience with my Seiko Turtle. I then read that holding the watch sideways and turning it around under warm (NOT hot) running water, allowing the water to run between the bezel and case for a minute, would resolve it. I was skeptical but, amazingly, it was gone after. Cheers, Dave!
I'll have to give that a try!
@@JusttheWatch I've experienced the same tight spots on the bezel with my Squale Corso Italiano, and by the looks of it, in the same areas between 12 and 5. I contacted Whatawatch about the issue and they exchanged the watch without issue.
Thanks Dave! Really awesome to see the family do a cameo LOL.
Great review, appreciate you going into what was a minor problem. You are a lucky man to have such nice family.
Awesome review, I bought the black dial version, and so tempted by the white dial now.
Really like this one! I have a 39 mm squally… along with the things you mentioned there appears to be a big difference in quality with the handset and indices…Thanks for a great two-part review!
Great to see your family, Dave.
What a adorable baby! Congratulations to you and your wife Dave!
I have to say you really upped your game with those B rolls in your watch reviews. Looks extremly professional! Keep up the nice work :)
Wowwwww. Most beautiful video ….. your family made it superlative. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Nice review, great videowork. The watch case design has a high level of Yema in it.
Always thank you so much🙏 - Lee -
Nice! Regarding the bezel action, I’ve had similar issues with other watches, and if you’re willing to take off the bezel and apply alittle silicon grease to the bezel gasket, I’ve found that solves the problem.
Your daughter is so cute! And well behaved! I have two daughters (in their teens) and everything regarding fatherhood and daughters melts me completely!
It’s a beautiful watch, and I also think it is more striking on the black dial version 👌🏻
Acier means steel in french. I love this watch, the most important thing for me is how much thought was put into making a watch, and this one is just awesome
Horsehide is also used for making razor strops for straight razors. It is known for its smoothness of texture. It certainly makes a beautiful watchband for the same reason.
Dave, congrats on the channel! Any chance you'd review an Orient tristar? I heard they're the lower level watches for Orient, but are pretty good. Wish you continued success.
Very generous! Great styling.
how cute host that is :D ... great review Dave ... bless you and your family...
Great job from your co-host! 😊
this is the best fifty fathom homage
Very nice, I like the white dial. Wish more watch makers would give more thought to their presentation boxes. Just don't need something as large as a shoe box.
Love the guest host in the episode congratulations again
Dave, you lucky Ba...
They are beautiful 😍
Hi Dave be careful with that sticky bezel, as it could mean that there is some debris trapped under the bezel, and if you keep turning it this can eventually damage the ratcheting spring and rubber gasket if there is one. Hapenned to me with an Orient diver. I would send it to be looked at.
Squale is a watch I'm going for next insha Llah
Yes
Dave - you need to find a company in Japan to make some nice watch boxes and sell. That box looks really good!
The shop that made this watch box sells a slightly different version on their site at: toyocraft.com it's pricey though.
Cute guest. ❤️
'Acier' simply means steel in French, Dave.
Very nice review Dave, wish you could get your hands on the new Helm Miyako which I just sent out to my friend OFD for review.
I saw his review of it! I actually live in town called Miyako. It's not as famous as the island that the watch is named after though.
@@JusttheWatch But that is really neat, I hope you get a chance to see one up-close.
what a dream watch! Price is too high though :(
The four words to teach your daughter ......... Mommy ...... Dada ........ Wrist Watch 😄
Is the black dial version still available? If so, is there a website to purchase from...?
4:43 ... you were totally eclipsed by the star of the show 😁😍.
Any chance you would sell that watch? I’d love to have it. Looking everywhere.
i wonder what TGV thinks about this
He actually got one too, briefly showed it in a video awhile back. It does look pretty similar to his TGV Squale, but I like this one better because of the 20mm lugs.
It reminds me the Certina DS PH200 wich I would prefer instead of this Squale. The bezel issue seems unacceptable for me at this price point (more than 1000€ is not and affordable watch in my case)
great vid
great watch
cute kid
What's the difference between this watch and the sub 39 65th year anniversary??
The biggest is the lug width, the sub 39 has 22mm lugs, this is basically the same case with 20mm lugs. This also features an ETA movement instead of a Selita, and the strap is upgraded to shell cordovan leather. The dial and handset is also a little different. Check out part 1 where I go into a lot more detail about the differences.
It's 60th anniversary (1959-2019). The main difference is the date on the 60th anniversary, no date on this one. I love it but it's way too expensive as I have to add import and VAT taxes (near 30 % more) here in Europe.
what do you think about its ghosted date movement? no mention on that it used a movement with a date but they chose a dial with no date version.
Ugh. I hate that on a watch at this price. Fine for a 300 buck watch but 5x that!?! Happens so often that I guess date movements are cheaper than no date? Seems wrong.
Hahaha, lovely kid.
Min 4:49 the best; I think a new kid? family is growing?
If that is the case, Congratulations
May G-d bless you with wisdom; Baruch Hashem.
Yup! Just had #4 about 6 months ago!
If it says " acier " that's French for steel.
❣️👨👧❣️
dont really regard 1500 bucks as that affordable but cool review anyway
Yeah me neither. This is pretty far outside the range of watches I normally review.
Nice watch. Beautiful baby
That watch is almost $1500 Cdn, that’s affordable?
Skip this video I guess? I don't mind seeing the occasional 'non-affordable' watch
