  • I finally upgrade to the 3700x Ryzen 7! On paper it's a 65W TDP CPU but is it a true replacement for the low power proven 65W TDP ones from the 1st and 2nd generation? Let’s find out!
This is the second part of this CPU cooling series and today we are tackling liquid cooling in the Dan A4 V4.1 SFX case coupled with the Asetek 645LT 92mm AIO. The first part is here: • Ryzen 7 3700x @ Noctua...

The fan curve tip helped me out greatly.
I own a SM550 by sliger and my fans pump speed was set to 100% out of the box.
by using the AI Suite 3 i was able to turn down the pump to 50% and my temps are stable and my work pc is working perfectly!
    Thank you sir!

Thank you dude for this video, very good, informative and well made! Your tip on releasing the PSUs cage from the case itself, to have a bit more headroom to install the PSU was a big help for me, got the PSU in very easily this morning compared to few years ago when I tried it. Rather surprised as to how easy it went, but wouldn't have figured that out myself, so big thank you for that tip!
Also, after watching this video, I went straight ahead with the 645LT and didn't even bother with the L9a. Going to also try the 4GHz on my 3700K with the voltage that you mentioned in the video and see how it all goes. Will also do the pump speed which you did as well. Since you're using the exact same motherboard and CPU as me, so I'm just copying you :P ... This is the first time I updated the BIOS myself, also from your video.
I'm wondering though, in which exact connector did you connect the AIO pump to and which exact header did you connect the noctua fan to?... And have you made any changes to them both in terms of BIOS and/or software?.
I'm also wondering, would you run the tubing the same way you are using with the G.Skill ram at 2:32 in video, even if you had something like Corsair Vengeance LPX memory? Thinking in terms of being able to close the side panel due to the tubing, at the moment I can't cause of the tubing. So thinking of maybe copying yours as well, unless you might have come up with a better way/config for this?.
Last thing for me now is to try and find somewhere to order custom length cables, cause the included with the SF750 is a bit long.

Thank you so much for such an epic comment and feedback Dawelio! 🤗
I know, in the A4 every mm is so detrimental. So glad you found that usefull. It's like Ayerton Senna said "if you don't go for that gap.." 😁
Yeah the L9a is on the limit with the 3700x but it is doable. Excellent 😁
Sure. So there are 3 ports there.
From right to left (as you would look at the motherboard installed in the A4) - the fan from the aio - then the aio 3 pin pump - then the chassis fan. Yes, selected the fans in the monitor/Q-fan settings to silent for both and then the pump on auto.(don't think here it makes a difference for the pump but it works) plus don't forget about that Asus Ai Suite to control the pump's speed. Otherwise it will drive you insane with the noise 😁
With the tubing. If you get the LPX Corsair kit, then the tubes have enough space to go above the ram. I am looking at them right now since I got a kit to experiment (I will put a picture for you soon) and there is plenty of space.
Yeah me too. Waiting on pslatecustoms to take orders again. He/them does/do the best I have seen. Perfect fit. Until then I will have the sides off.

Here is the scenario with LPX ram. As you can see, the tubes clear the ram and we can close the side panel. 💪

@@Glob3Tech Well thank you back Alex for that extensive reply! :)
So if I understood you correctly, if you look into the case, with everything installed, you have the AIO pump closest to the I/O shield and then next one to the left is the AIO fan yes?... Since I don't have an extra fan under the motherboard, I only have 2 connectors.
I'm sorry, but I didn't quite follow with the monitor/Q-fan settings for both? Is this in the BIOS that you're talking about?...
Yes, I have the LPX memory... Ah okay, so you zip tied down the tubes on the lower left part of the CPU bracket and then onto the 24 pin cable. Nicely done. Although I'll have to wait for the pslatecustoms to open on the 20th of April to order my short 24 pin and then do the same as yours. As currently I'm using the standard 30 cm braided cable that came with the SF750 and it's way too long.
One thing that is driving me nuts and that I unfortunately haven't solved as of yet, tried in the ASUS Suite III in the "CPU fan" tab, the fan on the rad is spinning up and down consistenly and it's driving me nuts. Once it goes above 1500rpm it gets loud. But hearing that ramping up, going down, ramping up, going down all the time is just annoying. Not sure where to fix that, in the ASUS Suite III or in the BIOS?.
Did you encounter this issue? And did this fix it with the 4GHz at 1.075V?...
      Thanks,
      David

@@Dawelio Hi David. You are more than welcome. 🤗
      So, right to left:
      1.The fan on the asetek - CPU_FAN
      2.The 3 pin pump - AIO_PUMP
      3.The case fan - CHA_FAN
So in your case, just use the first two ports - 1&2 from my list.
Ah yes it's in the bios on the 'Monitor' tab then scroll all the way down to 'q-fan configuration'. It will open the cobtrols for the all of the 4pin ports ibcluding the aio. I show it as well in the clip @ 3:22 mark. 😇
Yes, I needed a strong ancor point since the tubes are quite feisty. Thank you 😊. I know, I will do the same and order the cables so I can fully close the side panels.
That's why I set it on the 'Silent' profile from the bios but do you run it in stock form?
Ah yes if you keep it on stock form, yeah no silent profile can keep it quiet since in stock form as you saw the voltages are on drugs, they spike so agressively. So yes, 4.0 GHz @ 1.075v will make the CPU viable aka cool and quiet and has the same performance from the factory. Or if you can sqeeze more out of it 4.1 GHz for 1.085 or even 1.100v which are still miles ahead better than the stock crazy voltage profile.
I am running the cpu like this (4ghz 1.075) since day one of the review and not looking back. It's perfect for me and exactly as I wanted it :)
      Kind regards,
      Alex

@@Glob3Tech Thank you for your replies and help, much appreciated!
I must say that you seem to have a golden 3700X there, my 3700X is running 4GHz as well, but at 1.130V. It just kept on crashing all the way from yours 1.075V all the way up to atleast 1.125V and now seem to be stable at 1.130V.
I have another question for you though, since you have already managed to tie down the tubes and being able to close the side panel. Do you think it would be possible to mount an Noctua NFA9x14 hs-pwm chromax.black.swap fan on the side panel, straight over the Asetek pump, to have a bit active cooling over the VRM's, CPU socket area overall etc?.
Would it be possible, do you think it would fit between the side panel and the pump? Would this be something that you might be able to try perhaps?...
      Thanks,
      David

Thanks for this video. In fact I've 2 issues with Asetek 645LT : 1- I'm pretty sensitive to pump noise, even if you can reduce it to around 40% (5v) in Fan Xpert. My second issue is linked to implementation in Dan A4 : you are forced to place fan on radiator as intake...thus you are not removing hot air coming from GPU, leading to higher gpu temperature in final. Thus in sandwich case style oriented for gaming, it's better to go to aircoolers..:)

    • @Glob3Tech
      @Glob3Tech  4 роки тому +1

Thank you 🤗 and thank you for the comment and feedback. Yes I agree. I found a guy on reddit who did a custom job with the wires and basically cut more plastic from the plugs (custom wires etc) and he now has 28 mm of clereance with the rad inside so we can install a stock 25mm fan. So this is the only way I think to push it further for better cooling results. With the rest, I know what you mean. :)

    • @MarcParisTV
      @MarcParisTV 4 роки тому +1

@@Glob3Tech I've well tested Asetek 645LT (its performance is really good) and made several trials with 25mm fan (smallformfactor.net/forum/threads/smallest-atx-case-cerberus-x-complete-build-log.2007/post-180261) and even customised 92mm watercooling, using best radiator in this size...:D Noctua NFA9-14 (version spinning 2500rpm) is completely inline with Noctua 25mm spinning at 2000rpm in terms of performance (noise is higher however)
Anyway I appreciate you kept your microphone opened while benchmarking.
Once again, going watercooling or aircooling on Zen 2 CPU is depending on your needs. Gaming leads to aircooling, computing leads to watercooling..:D In any case it's way better than Intel 9th or 10th gen that will require watercooling and powerplant to function..:D:D (just exagerating a bit..;))

I think I tried many variations and the above is the best so far.

Be careful before sharing your temperature on benchmark : showing 55°C on assassin creed on 4.3Ghz @1.25v is really misleading. This game could be cpu intensive and required very stable cpu over long period. My R7 3800X OC 4.3Ghz@1.31v is really stable and shows some temperature between 55 to 70°C (pike) while using Noctua C14S or customed 92mm or Asetek 645LT. Basically your 55°C only refers AC benchmark. Also you have to check GPU temperature while gaming.
