  • What is missing from current sex education, besides correct medical information, current scientific data, and misleading and religious talk? Pleasure! Talking about pleasure could finally make sex education in the U.S. relevant enough to make people not only listen, but practice safer sex AND enjoy it!
Victoria M. Beltran, MPH, CHES is the Health Educator at the USFSP Wellness Center and is also an Adjunct Instructor. She received her B.A. in Psychology from New York University, her Master of Public Health degree from Emory University, is a Certified Health Education Specialist, and received a certification in Sexuality Education from the University of Michigan. Victoria has worked at the CDC, non-profit organizations, and hospitals. She believes that health promotion enhances the college experience by helping young adults become better students through overall better health and wellness. As a trained sexuality educator, she believes that everyone has the right to have a healthy and pleasurable sex life throughout the entire lifespan.

I'm not sure what to say except this is very worthwhile information that has not been universally shared, but should be!

good video, I agree on the self-esteem, the way kids are being taught needs to be changed. I am razing teenagers. I talk to them all the time about this, and i am a firm believer that the way a parent acts will also be a refection on how your child will act.

Razing means you are destroying, just so you know what you are doing to teenagers (lol)

I'm amazed this talk included considering same-sex activity / relationships, and handicapped people. Here recommendations are good, but it's so unlikely most kids will hear that in sex-ed in school or at home from their parents or other family.

I see, thank you Victoria for your wonderful video: In my high school age with my Christian life style, I backed away from my sexual life as sex is pleasing and soothing for my prosperity in life.

so dont teach kids to wait to have sex but teach kids how to have sex. Success is measured by how many are on Birth Control and are enjoying sex Teach kids they have a right to have sex and hay lets not forget all sex is unsafe so how can more sex be safer sex it cant girls that have had many sex partners and or abortions suffer from depression low self esteem .This is no going to turn out good for our kids .

    • @Anna-eh2vc

I agree that they should learn how but I think they should at least wait till high school for safety

@@Anna-eh2vc I agree with this. Teaching children that are too young will either not do anything but it may confuse them too. Waiting until they're growing up and ready to know can benefit them
