Some people whining about the fact that the X100VI is made in China and not Japan. Let me say this right now. Build quality is as good as ever. And what about if we all started letting go of that old prejudiced line of thought that chinese made products is nothing but cheap crap. I see only benefits to this. Fujifilm can rely on a much larger production capacity, even while making QC on site ensuring the same level of quality that we’re used to. (Your iPhones or Teslas aren’t worse off just because they were assembled in China now are they!)
I have the X100v and will not be replacing it with the 6 because it is made in China. I also have the X-T5 which is made in China and also find the screen doesn’t fit well within the camera body.
This camera is too expensive for what it is. I have been on the brink of buying the V 4 years ago, even was about to hit "buy", but something held me back. It's too bulky for a fixed lens, everyday camera. Too niche for a main camera. Still a work of art, but there is something holding me back and I feel it's more of a fashion accessory for those who are out of financial reach of a Leica. I got a Ricoh GR III instead. Build quality might be different, but it's supremely pocketable, discrete and packs a huge punch with regards to image quality. The toned-down design make people ignore you, and you can really just snap away without anyone noticing.
a lot of the stuff we buy these days is made in china - like iphones and mac computers... this does not mean automatically that it is inferior quality. what I see happening is fuji's enormous success biting it in the backside. they should address it so that there is no further damage to the brand.
If you wanted made in Japan, it would be another 5 or $600 cost for minimal improvement.Do you want to pay another $500?Because that's how it works....build quality ....it's not a pair of work boots
Using my x100vi as a webcam on 4K with the nice reala ace color profile, plugged into a Windows laptop on Skype, it bricked in me twice after about 20 minutes! It didn’t react at all not even power-off. I had to remove the battery. I did use a Sennheiser MKE 200 external microphone too into the x100vi. See if you can replicate this. My Skyping friend refused to continue to Skype this way and I had to fall back on a 2019 iPad Air for reliability…

If Fuji had changed the battery then probably people would have been up in arms because there would have been a change in the form factor they couldn’t win what ever they did
Much ado about nothing, inflation drove price up, other models are made in China with no issues, and most people have zero issues with screen including me.

Everything made in china is better than japan.
IMHO Fuji is justified in price increase, upgraded sensor and IBIS added, expected huge increase in demand was likely primary factor in moving production to China. My MacBook Pro and iPhone 15 Pro were made in China, also have many Nikon lenses that are made in China.
Your iPhone is made in china
They will continue to be made outside Japan, and in few years you will cave and get the 8, 10 or whatever model.
Will you buy a Chinese car if it's offered in America tomorrow?
@@greggowen2337if it’s designed by the Japanese? Of course, yes.
It didn’t react at all
not even power-off. I had to remove the battery. I did use a Sennheiser MKE 200 external microphone too into the x100vi.
See if you can replicate this. My Skyping friend refused to continue to Skype this way and I had to fall back on a 2019 iPad Air for reliability…
I’m not sure that’s the definition of bricking
Are you sure you need a 1.8k€ camera for… webcam ? Are you serious ? If you have too much money I can send to you my IBAN … it would be a pleasure for me to make you relieve of this oversized burden… :).
I'm can finally buy the x100v:) Hehe!
I don’t have the screen issue. Must be the color because I have the black one ;-).
Black one here too, no issue.
The only problem I have with my X100VI is that I have become sooooooooo ... addicted!
Everyone complaining about China-made quality is simply ridiculous. Your phone (as well as all your household appliances) are all made in China.
Ye tbh Id rather have anything made in china than japan. This alone makes the VI better than the V.
I have had my Q3 for past 6 months and even though I said I would not get a X100VI I did. My mistake was selling my X100V 2.5 years ago. Although I do worry that it’s made in China. Fuji did rush this out because one of the biggest mistakes was using the same crappy battery.
What is your experience after 6 months with the Q3? I'm buying a Q3 next week even though I have a Sony a7IV with several GM lenses.
If Fuji had changed the battery then probably people would have been up in arms because there would have been a change in the form factor they couldn’t win what ever they did
@@Mw02veg If anyone complained about 2-3 more millimeters then they need to get their head checked if it meant the newer battery.
I still have 3 batteries because of my XT3. So I'm one of the few people who like the decision :-)
@@Patrick22378 your in the 10%. The newer battery is as good as two of the older ones.
Ppl are paying scapers $3k when they can buy a better camera with that, it was market as a cheap good camera but ppl like trends lol
Much ado about nothing, inflation drove price up, other models are made in China with no issues, and most people have zero issues with screen including me.
I made a short about made in China. So we’re the last 3 XT cameras. Get over it
I called this months ago on reddit. I said the japan made fuji stuff is superior to the chinese made stiff and said the QC issues on the 6 would come out
I don't have X100V or VI but for me a fujifilm made in china will be 100% dealbreaker. I will not buy those cameras. I'm with Fuji because they make quality in Japan.
Same here unfortunately
aren’t iphones and nikes made in china? it’s not where it’s made it’s the money they put into qc
😂 Go look around your home and see which appliances are made in China
@@MakePicturessure that the technical complexity of a Nike shoe is comparable to a 2024 camera…. :)))))
@@MakePicturesThat's why I don't buy iPhones and I'm wearing a Europe made footwear. You vote for quality with your wallet.
I've seen in reviews that the lens isn't capable of good IQ with the higher MP in fact the iPhone 15 had identical IQ which an apsc sensor should be much better than a iphone clearly using the same lens was a mistake
Even if that’s the case, the new sensor still beats the old x100v. You get better dynamic range, which means less clipped highlights, and plus with the ibis, you’re image will be sharper because of less motion blur….. beating the x100v
X100VI IS MADE IN CHINA INSTEAD OF JAPAN!!! Make the Fuji X100 line Great Again!
