Good Morning alisonandrew4547, Thank you for joining the channel and watching the videos. Carisbrook, as with a lot of the small towns, has hidden history and historic buildings that are now repurposed which keeps them a little 'hidden' from visitors. There is so much these small towns offer. We really do enjoy our visits. Happy reading and safe travels Cheryl (ABT)
Hello Again James, Thank you so much for your enthusiastic comments. We appreciate you taking the time to do so. We really hope you enjoy the current videos on the channel and those we upload in the future. We have so many plans for the channel, our travels around towns seeking their history and their bookshops/street libraries and for the development of even greater book content. If you are interested, do not forget to enter our book competition. Details in last the book recommendation video last week with further details to follow. Happy reading and safe travels ABT
Good Morning @ritadunn6863. Thank you for joining the channel and watching. I will have to do a bit of research on my own video as I cannot recall the music 'off the top of my head'. I will let you know, once I know. Unfortunately I have had to change and delete a lot of the music in my catalogue, as I now no longer have the copyright to it, so obtaining the title for you may prove challenging. I will do my best though. Happy reading and safe travels ABT
I grew up here before moving to Maryborough at age 11. We spent summers at the creek with no adult supervision (before they let the vegetation take over) We lived in No. 25 on the list of historic buildings…the Presbyterian Manse… I vaguely recall catching a train from the station, probably around the year it closed. Did you see the primary school?
Good Morning @VirgoAngie, Thank you for joining the channel and contributing, by commenting. It is always wonderful to hear/read comments when people, such as yourself, have lived in the towns we show. Carisbrook, although only a small hamlet, really is a lovely location. We intend to return to all towns at some point as it is often too much to show viewers all places of interest in each town, and the channel really is intended to show libraries, bookshops or street free libraries, around Australia. We did not film the primary school on this occasion, but will shall next time (I cannot recall its location or if we did see it on our tour around Carisbrook, but if it is still there, we will film it!). We hope you continue to enjoy the channel and do keep in touch, we enjoy chatting! Happy reading and safe travels ABT
@@AustralianBookTravels-ii8iy The primary school is thriving, it’s much larger now than when I attended. I recall exploring the town hall when we were rehearsing the school concert and found a room that was locked. I peeped through the keyhole and saw it was full of old bound volumes, perhaps old council minutes or other records. It fascinated me then…wonder what happened to them?
Great thanks
Very interesting and much more than i realised.
