Excellent job. From. Start to finish how long did that take?
Thanks! About 5 hours on that one. Appreciate you watching!
I know efficiency is key but having to have two trucks and two trailers for that job. Man I’d have to be at least $400 plus dump fees. Too bad you can’t haul the mower on your dump trailer so it would be one trip.
Ideally, you would have one guy drive the truck with equipment and another guy in the truck with the dump trailer. But running solo, just have to make it work. Most of the time I spend one day getting the leaves to the curb on multiple jobs and then coming back the next day to suck them all up. That way I’m not going back-and-forth switching trucks out. Just depends on how the jobs fall. Sometimes it’s unavoidable. Thanks for watching!
Happy New Year .. always anything you do looks awesome..
Great job.
Thanks so much! Hope you have a blessed 2024! Appreciate the support. 💯
💚👍👍👍
Thank you!!!! 🤠
I would take all those much leaves and make leaf mold out of them for my garden.
Ohhhhh yeah. You would have some nice healthy plants come Summer. I can’t wait to get them in the garden!
You better believe I'd do that for compost! Ever need a place to dump all that I'm right down the road...No charge!...South Carolina is right next door to Mowssouri isnt it????
Haha…premium price for delivery to South Carolina. It will be well worth it though lol. Gonna be some good compost here shortly. Appreciate you watching! More compost videos coming…
Looked like another really nice day to be working outside. That yard definitely required multiple techniques but I don't think there is any doubt that the Wright vac made piling the leaves more efficient but what about having to come back with the leaf vac trailer? Does it still work out better than piling all with the backpack and sucking them up immediately?. Well done as usual!
Absolutely! Every job has its challenges. Unfortunately, the backpack blowers are just too slow to blow the leaves to the curb. And it’s a lot more hard work! Ideally, you could have one guy drive the truck with the equipment and another guy drive the leaf trailer setup. This is one of the downfalls to running solo. But you Gotta make it work. Thanks again for watching!
Do you have gator blades on that wright mower ? Seems like you made a lot of trips to the curb I have a grasshopper 52 inch with gator blades and a metal hopper on the back of the mower seems like my leaves are chopped up finer based on yours Just curious
Hey Jeff! I just have the factory oem high lift blades on there right now. I haven’t messed with trying out any other blades. But I’m sure the gator blades would probably chopped them up finer. Hard to tell in the video, but these leaves are pretty deep. Thanks for watching!
I don't remember of you've said, but what engine/HP is in the Wright? Is it the 37 or 40 VG EFI?
It’s the 40 hp vanguard! Thanks for watching!
IMHO - with your setup I think bagging only the back yard would be the best and blowing everything else to the curb. I would also bag the leaves in the yard first then blow out. That helps in preventing clogs. The other thing I would do is tow the leaf setup with cab over truck and drop at site and then unload your equipment, get leaves to the curb, load equipment back up, hook back up to leaf setup and suck up leaves.
I’ve tried it several different ways over the years. I will say that bagging all of them has been the easiest so far. Last year I ran the Ventrac and leaf plow. Pushed them all to the curb then sucked the pile up. Only problem with the leaf plow is that it really packs the leaves in tight and it makes it harder to suck them up. I wish the box truck could pull the trailer full of leaves, but it’s just not feasible. I would be way overweight and need a CDL in order to do that. On top of that, it’s super hard to take the trailer on/off because of all the weight in the trailer. But it would be nice to do it all in one trip. Typically I will schedule several cleanup jobs together and use the box truck all day. Then the next day take the trailer and suck up the leaves at all the different properties. Hope that makes sense. Appreciate you tuning in for this one!
I agree park the mower until the yard is finished.
I almost think the Ventrac leaf pusher would have been better.
Ventrac with Leaf Plow does a great job getting the leaves to the curb, but it packs them in so tight it takes so much longer when you go to suck them up. They pack in like concrete and it’s hard to break them loose to suck them up. Unless you have a 50ft (length) stack of leaves at the curb, then it takes forever because you’re constantly pulling the truck up.
