@@TequaviontaviousActually I did. I went about 10 years without playing, and didn't think I would ever have any rudimental chops again, but decided to see how far I could take it at my age. It's been a journey.
That was awesome. I love it. I wish modern drum corps had the same vocabulary, techniques and demands as it did in the past. Nothing wrong with modern stuff, I love it just the same.
@Krystaline_music Probably harder to make coats than devils imo great drummers at all the top corps but devils don’t necessarily have the best or hardest to make line
Blue devils are still a top tier core with a top 3 percussion guys 😅 idk why you guys think all of these groups are not equally as hard to get in if not giving an edge to blue devils considering how consistent they are@@DagothUr69
I placed 7th. I played early in the morning, at like 8am, and never got a chance to warm up before playing my solo that was maxed out on difficulty. What corps did you play in?
Man forgot to get old man hands
Still Got it!
He never lost it
@@TequaviontaviousYup!

Legit, if you tried out for any of the top world corps today, you're probably gonna get in! Chops for days 🔥
I think he might be aged out already
Def not lmao
Ha! He could teach them🥁
Talented yes, but his style/technique (at least seen from this video) wouldn't match with modern corps
@@pie4breakfast_drums All age division would be seriously terrifying if we got an all 80s lineup of greats.
This performance is beyond amazing. What a treat to watch, and listen, to you play!
0:21 those flams were just 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
Very cool! It would be awesome to get the other members of the snare line and put that back together again!
It was part of my Individual solo, not something the line played.
I knew that wasn't New Country.
Manager: So, do you have any qualifying skills?
Me:
Inspiring as I age. Thanks for sharing, incredible.
Wow. Player since 67.
Very, very nice! Awesome work and nice chops!
Still has it. Been a LONG time since USM days.
@@BobFayard hey Bobby, it’s been a long time.

Bro... WHAT!? I thought them was camera tricks! You're a legend my cat! #inspiration
Wowie ... really impressed !!
this is how you know he was grinding this solo everyday when we was learning it
Well done, Sir. Respect.
This is what happens when you play relaxed when you're young
I best see this man in this man in a world class band because if not they are missing out big time
This was awesome to watch!
So clean! so cool!
This is fire, man! Respect!
that ending is badass
IM IN SHOCK!!
Kids these days and all of their stick tricks! Hahahaha! No seriously, that was awesome!
Holy crap, you still got it. 😎
Killer to clean.
YES
This is insane 👍
Mr. Beckham that was wonderful what cord did you play with? I was in marching band and 81 never did Drumore, though I would love to great job.
Easily would make crown or bloo today. Possibly even blue devils

Coats and crown definitely harder to make lol

Watch out, that one part your sticks were clicking together.
Do you give lessons, Sir?
fire
So I guess you could play wipe out but with inverted flam paradiddles?
Yes
What corp did you play for and would it be possible to find a recording of when you played it in 1981?
in 1981 I played with the 27th Lancers. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, there is no recording of my solo that year.
Did you win the '81 I&E snare title? If not who did?
Hi Rick, I played xylophone in 81 and I remember you were an amazing snare drummer. Where did you place?

NOOICE!!
what in the name of holy chops is this
Chop daddy!
Holy shit you're insane
this isn't sped up?
yo no toco ni la mitad de lo que lograste hacer tu maestro
You could have played it without being such a showoff especially mean mugging into the camera and high stick twirling.....
Terrible
This is sped up
