    Hi Philip, great announcments, will be looking forward to your poll, I think that's a fun idea to do. Love the old Dunlop racket your holding. I wonder why the surface of the rackets changed so much. And I also wonder how these old rackets played in comparisson to modern ones. (maybe a topic?)

    • @BetterSquash
      @BetterSquash  2 роки тому

      Hi Alfred, yes, reviewing these rackets, as well as the other vintage ones I have are all part of my master plan, as well as the books on the shelves.

    Great news that you are preparing to produce new content.
    I cant say I have viewed your entire back catalogue, but I have definitely watched a fair chunk of it.
    My suggestion is that your tag line needs a little extra push to really get the message across.
    If you want you can liken it to the difference between warming up and heating up.
    Therefore-
    "Do something every bloody day to improve your squash!"
    Personally I think this scans better and would fit in with how I perceive your go gett'em personality.
    Anyway, can't wait to see the new content. My game has improved massively thanks to your earlier content.
    DYEBDTIYS 🙂

      Hi Chris, great to hear you game has improved due to my videos. To be perfectly honest, I won't be adding the "bloody" part to the tagline, purely because many of my viewers are not native English speakers and it would confuse them! I will consider adding another modifier like "absolutely" to drive the message home.

    Glad to see you are back. Have you any tips on keeping young juniors interested and engaged?
    Hope you get that buzz back soon.

    • @BetterSquash
      @BetterSquash  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks. For juniors, I would suggest keeping every activity short enough for them not to get bored, but long enough for them to get some benefit. Use their natural competitive spirit if you can, without crushing those less able. Have awards, stars and personal challenges to keep them motivated, and of course let them have fun - as much as possible. Besides those rather clcihed guidlines, I do have one specific video planned that may interest you. I don't want to tease it yet, but I'm hoping you'll love it.

      Hi Zach, glad to hear you like the poll idea. I'll implement it for the video after next. Great point about putting theory into practice. Might make a video about that.

    Yes I like the poll question'''great idea! Regarding Jonah's book...coincidence? Last week I read an article mentioning that book, and wanted to buy it...until I saw the purchase price...upwards of $400 Canadian. What the hell's in that book...I gots to have it! Looking forward to the new upcoming videos.

      Good to hear you like the poll idea - I will be using it in the very near future. It's just a great read - so motivational. I have just read that they will be re-releasing the book with updated content sometime in 2021, so look out for that!

    Coach Philip, it’s entertaining and informative to listen to you. I find that you are explaining very well what not to be done on a squash court it’s also very theoretical. What I would like to see from you, if I may ask, are videos where you correct peoples squash on court and making them realising what’s bad about it and how to correct it. Or even ask people to send you videos so that you can correct them. Video analysing. I find this is a great way to engage with your community.

      Hi BWB, I offer that service as a private paid option. In the past, people have said no to having their videos made public, but it might be soemthing I could think about again in the furture.

    Hi , your narration in your videos are very articulate . I regularly attempt the solo practices mentioned in your videos published earlier. My Game has improved , even the guys in the club says that . I started playing any form of racquet sport after Turing 30 . So there are limitations in my swing and foot movement. Nevertheless one step at a time , I am improving. You are doing great for the squash community. Good works . Thanks 🙏

      Hello, I am so glad to hear that my videos have helped. It's true that starting after 30 years old means you are limited, but you still seem to be improving, so that's great. Keep working smart!

    Hi Philip.
    Just a couple of suggestions…
    I’m 74 yrs old and am restarting to play squash after many years. Can you suggest the type of racket and the string that would be preferable for my age group?? Also, I really liked your video on how to hold my racket but a better closeup and slow motion video would be good too.
    Beginner to intermediate player.
    Keep up the good work. Very helpful.
    Thanks

    • @BetterSquash
      @BetterSquash  2 роки тому

      Michel, sorry for the late reply. Honestly, I can't recommend a racket becasue there are no rackets that suit age groups, balance /weight preference and style of play. Two people with exactly the same characteristics could play with completely different rackets.
      I suppose at some point I will update the grip video and will ensure that a better closeup and slow motion footage are added - thanks for the feedback.
