IMPLEMENT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT SYSTEM

- Watching professional squash players allows you to analyse their choices and learn from them. In this video, I am going to discuss the shot selection choices made and also talk about the traffic light system. That doesn't mean you should simply copy the pros, but you should consider why they made those choices.
My original plan was to show a statistical analysis of each player's shots and the contrast between the two. However, when I saw how long the video was already, I decided to omit it. If I do these types of videos in future, I will commentate less (I PROMISE!) and shot the charts at the end.
The match footage is used courtesy of the BBGBITW channel. They have some other Swedish Open matches on the channel, so go watch some of those: www.youtube.co...

Very insightful thank you for taking the time and making this for us squash followers!
Been actively using the terminology you've been using whilst playing and its so good for recognising mistakes and bad rhythm on the fly. Even when watching others play at the club im thinking to myself ahh, should have probed, or defended. Its nice to have such a simplistic approach to analysis, for both observing others and also for self awareness during or after games.
Glad it was helpful!
This traffic light system has totally changed my game. Only been playing about a year and so helpful to think about a structured.point rather than maniacally running about thwacking at the ball lol.
Glad to hear that it has helped. A lot of players hit the ball with very little, if any, plan.
This is gold!
Thank you, I'm glad you like it.
