Very interested in this concept. However from watching the gameplay he needs to use a heavier ball. It will be perfect then. That ball is a bit too fast to capture the pinball feel.
Less than $1000 means $999. $799 is a pipe dream. Honestly, at $1000 (let’s call a spade a spade), there’s a lot of good 70s/80s pins out there for not much more and those are full size and repairable. It’s an interesting proof of concept, but the size is just meh, imho.
I think overall it looks promising! As a graphic designer and artist, I think what James Hates Everything mentioned in his video is correct: They need a 3D Mad Hatter bobble head and a bigger Cheshire Cat somewhere towards the back (flat or 3D. Ditch the caterpillar 3D element as it feels like it's out of place. I like the backglass graphics, but Alice's perspective is off somehow. I'd like to see more perspective on her falling, or more attention on her like in the playfield.
No thanks. Like I’ve said before, you can pickup nice condition Solid State pinball machines now for $1500-3000. I just don’t see the appeal to waste money on this little toy made primarily from plastic. I just picked up a Xenon pinball this week for $2k in excellent condition.
I have real pins and I still think that this is great. I see it as a way to get more into the pinball hobby if it's executed right.. I owned a Stern Home Transformers and I think this is looking better. Worse purchase I have ever made. It was an impulse pinball purchase. lol There are some on pinside that are all over this so that's a good sign I guess. lol I am closer to actually wanting to buy one of these with each update.
If this even plays well, and is halfway decent, it's worth it at their price point... chump change in comparison to a Stern el primo game...(Yes, D&D on order)....I'm nuts!
Your probably right 1K is the right price for the 3/4 community but yes I would prefer they made a full size pinball that was less than a Stern Home edition - for example even like 4K target but were legit machines with proper weight etc.
@@Tim_York reminds me of my Labyrinth, it's not super easy to get up the right ramp from left flipper, you're better off backhanding off the right flipper to get to the right ramp
@@fourthhorseman04 everyone knows the "3/4 scale" is more a name for the community but in actuality Arcade1Ups started out being 50% the size of a real arcade machine. Men love to exaggerate in more ways than one.
1. Never understood the goal of under $1000 - it’s very limiting in the world of real pinball reality. They might want to explore tariffs as well. 2. That said, it’s actually much better than i expected at this point. 3. Agree with u - too small. Backglass box still not right. (Tip for them, don’t copy at Games) 4. Zizzle very low standard to beat but they achieved that already. 5. Backbox speakers and DMD look like A1up manufacturer. 6. 3D sculptures are supposed to be mass produced so that’s not a concern. Kickstarter = they have no $ which is horrible. This most likely = parts replacement will be following the A1up model of stripping down machines to get parts which was always laughable to me. That alone = no buy for me amongst many reasons. To sum up, i think there is an opportunity for a company to build a real pin at a more affordable price but $1000 is unrealistic. This thing still has a ton of hurdles to clear. Personally i would rather spend a bit more $ and buy a used real pin.
@ also for Canadians, I expect our dollar to be down another couple cents by the time this pin would release. It’s starting to really add up in conversion fees.
I really like the back glass artwork but I would change Alice’s face. Some thing more child like or go straight to the Cool World style and make it a bit sexier. This Tim Burton style Alice is not good.
Am I alone thinking the gameplay video was rough? I'm not sure what kool aid other people are drinking. I think he made a total of 2 shots (left orbit and left ramp) and the latter caused an air ball. The rest of the video was the bricks and shots up the middle to nowhere. This game play being released shows how low the bar they have for this. The community comments are telling me it probably won't matter. Is it a $1000 pinball machine? Yes. 20% of the price sounds nice but 20% of the enjoyment, shot accuracy, reliability...not so much.
@@PDubsArcadeLoft He did say that. But he also said they played it every chance they got while they were there. And this is what they showed. Why show this if they didn't think its good footage.

Not liking all the excess black space on the apron. Unless they are leaving that space for rules sets, etc. Disagree totally that the gameplay does look much better than Zizzle.. In the footage he is completely unable to hit the ramps... it's all pop bumpers in the middle and nothing more. Zizzle you can at least hit the ramps, especially the left ramp. This footage looks like ramps are completely unattainable. Guy hit only one ramp once. That's actually not fun man... it's pop bumpers only with it's current state/footage on prototype. It's more lit up and more eye appealing, but it's two ramps two pop bumpers, two side targets (Exactly the same as the Zizzle!) The chest in the middle of pirates Zizzle is equivalent to the mad hatter on Alice. It is very cool that the pop bumpers hit independently! That's an upgrade to Zizzle. It seems like it will be better than Zizzle if it has game codes/quests and such. BTW can you please say where you bought the power supply for your Zizzle? I'm in need of one.
Is the project coming along? What are your thoughts let me know below!
