- Here is the long anticipated update for my Ice Shot league starter guide.
The Pob is 3.24 ready but the new gems aren't out yet, I will update them in time. The Pob is meant to be extremely optimized for a fast and smooth progression. Every possible variation of this build was considered and carefully analyzed.

The pob dps is set for regular ice shot. For the burst dps, toggle focus on in configs and multiply the dps by 8 (2x for the tornado synergy and 4x for vaal ice shot)

I just returned to POE. How can I get so many of-colour sockets on both 6 links reliably ?
the best way right now is the benchcraft trick paired with the new Black Morrigan beast to 6 link the bow after.
Start with 2 socket item, force them red and blue via crafting bench
go from 2 socket to 3 socket via the bench, if it's not off color, go back to 2 socket,
then from 3 to 4, again going back to 3 socket if not off color
all the way to your desired colors and 6 sockets
then 6L with black morrigan beastcraft.
note: you don't need those exact color in the early game, you can substitute some blue and red supports for added cold / return projectile until you have all your colors.

your gear and gems you're showing on youtube and on PoB are totally different, can you please update the gear/gems and links on PoB, i wouldnt mind trying this

Helpful, thanks. Only into HC personally, and the idea of buying gear rather than finding it (SSF) is the antithesis of interesting gameplay to me, but I think there's still some useful stuff here.
I saw many starter builds and didn't like any of them. I wasn't even play the league. This guide made me wanna try. I'll give it a shot, thanks.

Same I was so set on DD or LA but I did ice shot like 3-4 leagues ago and had a blast then I seen this 😭
Any advice for higher level gear? Most of the stuff in the pob isn’t expensive and I’m too noob to know what/where to upgrade. I’ve got quite a bit of currency from getting good rng with harbingers and the selling corpses scarabs etc. but don’t know what to buy
This build has virtually no ceiling; watcher eye, cluster jewels, progenesis, massive thread of hope, ancestral vision, sublime vision, phys bow + Headhunter or tri ele with mageblood, Omniscience vs non-omni vs power charge stacking badge of the brotherhood.
So many different paths that can lead to different experience with all their pros and cons, in fact, too many for me to confidently go over them.
I'll say headhunter and mageblood are definitely easy to implement without changing much and give a very big boost the the build if you can afford either

Hi! What you recommend farming with that build? Or its all rounder? My fav is delirium. Other question is: except uber bosses can kill everything?
Essence, beast, legion, altars, guardians, invitations, destructive play are all really good.
the build can easily get you to 2 voidstone but you'll have to invest exponentially more currency in your build to tackle harder content
dumb question here, but you're supposed to link tornado with archanist brand right? and also enduring cry to call to arms?

I've almost got this properly online, it's a really nice build, the bismuth flask tech is inspired. I am however struggling to get the appropriate colours on my bow, G-BBB-RR is a big ask! Any suggestions for a different setup until I can get it? Currently using Added Cold and Returning Proj instead of both crits and clearly missing out on huge DPS. Nice guide!
hey you've nailed it! added cold and return are good substitute for the crits support. Even later on if you hit 3 R instead of 3 B you can replace crit strike multi for damage on full life.
Man I spent 6 divs in chromatic orbs getting the gbbbrr
@@mcnugget9999 I share your pain, I also spent 2 div+ on chrome, it's weird that bow archetype have so little green supports compared to melee having so many reds and spellcasters having blues
Looks awesome!! Although the transition from lvl 74 to lvl 89 tree looks daunting with the amount of jewels needed. Is this still league start viable even for a noob like me :3
Absolutely! All the jewels except the interrogation have been below 1 divine at league start, especially the medium clusters that are 20c tops. I'll add a lvl 89 tree to the pob with no clusters and no thread of hope so you have an idea of what to aim for if they end up too expensive.

why you have Lighning Arrow gem in skill section of Manaforge setup in POB?

i have basically 0 game knowledge and im about to be done with white maps with this build with basically no problems! my only question is right now im relying on bismuth + purity of elements to cap my resistances, should i be focusing on getting my resitances to where i only have to rely on one?
You can rely on both without problem, but you should aim for ~90 res (15% overcap) just to make sure you don't die instantly to curse map, reduced aura effect map and monster exposure.
@@YanKuch gotcha, and sorry if you explained this somewhere and i missed it, but what's the importance of lifetap in the manaforge setup?
@@yuyuretro lifetap makes the manaforge linked active skill trigger have 0 mana cost, effectively triggering everytime you spend mana on another bow skill when off cooldown
What do you think of the new ice shot gem variant, is it viable?
looks interesting but somehow doesn't seem to really fit in the deadeye archetype.

@Yan Kuch, how would a mageblood effect this particular build?
It would make it much stronger but require some flask adjustments which I haven't gone into.
I would look on poe.ninja what people playing LA use with mageblood and take inspiration from there.

Man... Mixed feelings here.. Watched the video. Got super excited, but then started thinking it's a bit of a bait and I'm worried now. I'm somewhat new. Just my 3rd league and never done a league start before.
Is this just objectively worse than LA, which I don't particularly love because i've already played it on the 2 previous leagues?
if you dont love LA you wont love this, its worse for denser content but better for single target, the playstyle is virtually the same though so you wont enjoy it
@@YanKuch I like the la play style quite a bit, but my main concern is it’s just far worse for most cases. Is the single target better enough to make up for the lack of clear speed if budget it’s small?
Any thoughts on tattoos you should look out for and why no HoI?
Also why isn’t berserk on the PoB?
@@brandond6360 we'll have to see what tattoos are available, they seem quite nerfed compared to during tota league so they might not be worth it. Berserk is in the boots but disabled by default to not inflate the dps.
you could play herald of ice instead of purity of elements and you wouldn't need the charisma wheel but the pops are really not fantastic without aoe investment and you'd have to fix resistance and ailment immunity somewhere else
Trying to make your build, I have one question, how did u get 9 arrows? :)
1 base, +2 on tree, +2 on deadeye, +2 on bow, +1 on quiver +2 dying sun (overkill), GL with the build

hey im glad you like the build so far! Once you have the interrogation jewel you'll start generating rage a lot more reliably thanks to warlord's mark
I'm not sure I understand how tornado + arcanist brand is doubling your dps while it's up. In your explanation you state that the double damage comes from ice shot firing through the tornado which causes the cone to hit the enemy before the arrow pierces the tornado and hits them again, but in the visual demonstration of the setup in action afterwards it appears that the tornado is going to fly around in random directions and not necessarily create a lineup for this to occur, especially for all of vaal ice shot's clones. How are you guaranteeing that every shot that pierces the tornado is causing an explosion that also hits the brand's target?
ice shot's cone aoe is bigger than the distance that the tornado fly around from a branded target, I've recorded myself to compare dps with and without tornado and the conclusion is that tornado doubles your damage
@@YanKuch the cone appears behind the target hit though, I don't see how it would reliably hit the enemy if the tornado has also travelled behind them. It's just illogical and other theorycrafters I speak to are saying likewise.
@@AllocatesBeef arcanist brand resummon the tornado on top of the target. the tornado doesn't have time to fly away, it gets resummoned straight on top. Just to make sure I had tested it by putting 2 clips side by side with the same gear against the same boss and went frame by frame; it was double damage. And having played the build a lot by now, I can tell that there are no mistakes here.
@@YanKuch unless you can provide those clips I'm going to doubt this, in your video demonstration the tornado is clearly travelling within its 1 second lifespan and it can travel away from the boss in a direction that means that you're no longer reliably double hitting, especially with all the clones from vaal ice shot.
@@AllocatesBeef From 3:29 to 3:32, you can see the tornado doesn't have time to move because it gets resummoned via arcanist brand. Then, at 3:33, arcanist brand expires, as a result, tornado enters stage 2 and the boss leaps away, the only time where tornado is not on top of the target.
If you don't trust me you can always try with 100% poison chance + resolute technique in PvP.
Thoughts on the new ice shot?
It looks simply bad, I hope there is an interaction that make it interesting like something with snipe or locus mine

Ok, I think I'm sold. I'm not new per-se but I've only run Boneshatter 2x Frostblades 1x and EA ballista 1x so this seems like a lot to take in but lets see how I get on!
How has this turned out for you? I'm a new player considering this build too
@@collinelliott4743 I don't think its super new user friendly I've had to mix this in with similar builds on poe ninja to figure out gem levels etc.
is it hardcore viable?
No. I've seen people do it but calling it viable would be a stretch imo.

@@acatrielggwp4016 I'd path toward the duelist and scion area instead of the shadow area and grab all the nodes that increase both evasion and armour, then run determination grace defiance banner molten shell

I've been leveling with jun but it's not great currency right now, farming red altar fast is more profitable than ever especially with the new influencing scarab of hordes that gives 40% pack size to influenced monsters
