- In this 'EDIT' episode of The Debrief, Phil Campion talks with Tim Heale, whose journey from boy soldier to seasoned military operator took unexpected turns. Starting with the Royal Anglians, Tim’s military career spanned a punchy tour in Northern Ireland, time with the Army Handgliding Centre, and a stint in 21 SAS. He later found his calling in the newly-formed 15 Psychological Operations (PSYOPS) Unit, mastering the art of propaganda, deception, and influence. Now, Tim is a podcaster, tackling topics like Veterans' Mental Health and sharing stories from his varied career.

Real conversation, no waffle
Good to know the Gentleman is stable in his life and happy with his Wife. We hear so many negative stories of exmilitary marriges/partnerships. Its good when they buck that trend.
Agreed! Thanks for watching
I met Tim in Afghan when I was out there attached to 3 Cdo. Bde. as a Pashto terp. I've just dug out the photo I have of him taken in March 2007. I think it was in Bastion or Kandahar.
Great video
The NI stories are amazing, and bit surreal
Thank you for watching

Funny old world.
Son u mobilised in 99 then did u not go to the centre up in Nottingham
sounds interesting but at best he skims over the topics so I'm still unclear on most of it..
Thanks for your feedback
I'm not unhappy with the interview but I was looking forward to more psy-ops details. As a nosey civvy.
But i know it's his story so happy just to listen to him tell what he wants to.
@@vetinaris1297 i just found out, completely by accident, that this video is a shortended edit of another full-length interview on this channel.. there's no mention of that in the description or a link to the full-length vid, but you can find it if you search.
@@vetinaris1297you will get no real details regarding psyops. Mostly due to the uk not really doing anything of note info ops wise. Not known as “leaflet wankers” for nothing!
Why is it do you think the sas lost there last two wars in Afghanistan and iraq?
The only wars that get won are the ones where people are defending their territory from invasion.
Define lost?
ha ha I see you've chosen a single unit and said they lost.
so which Iraq or Afghan unit was it that defeated them?
I can promise thats not measured by man power losses 🤣🤣
Yeah define lost ? Because I must have missed these battles that they lost in Iraq and Afghanistan or do u define losing as just giving up and leaving if so has Germany won ww2 as haven’t we left Germany now as well
I can tell your first language isn't English. Is it Russian by any chance?
