Those were beautiful! But my ADHD brain was so distracted by the paint swirls underneath. I would’ve appreciated a solid background. Good stuff!
Lol I am so messy! ❤️😂
I agree
Literally the same. I was so overwhelmed, I had to watch the video in about 15 sittings and I couldn't work out why... 🥴
I think I had brain fatigue constantly trying to separate out the shapes and patterns for it not just be one huge mass of blue swirls.
Such a shame as they look absolutely *_beautiful._* A clean, plain background is really helpful to show off your work. 💙
I have seen alot of people on UA-cam, and I never reply. You really got me with your creativity! I am also in Florida, Fort Myers area. We have alot in common, just started adding some videos to UA-cam. You are fantastic!
Oh my gosh thank you so much! I’m glad to see Ft. Myers is recovering so fast. My good friend lost everything in that awful storm, but they have rebuilt! If you have a YT channel, let me know what it is so I can follow!
She is! I live in Tampa area! I love all beach things! I’ve not been brave enough to start a UA-cam channel. Very best of luck! Right now I’m teaching myself to quilt. Working on a shark jelly roll quilt. What is your UA-cam channel if I’m allowed to ask/ I believe in supporting other artists.
You make me want to get creative with all the supplies I've been accumulating for the last 20 years. Looks fun! 😊
Go for it!
I’m a new subscriber. I’m from Weeki Wachee, Florida. I too have shells. You’ve inspired me to make these and to drink more wine! After all ….its important for the making of these projects. 🤣
Yes, staying hydrated is imperative to the creation process! hahahah!
Hi, first time seeing you. Glad I was directed to you. Let me say I’m sorry you seem to have a bunch of grumpy Gretchen’s commenting. I’ve always thought if I didn’t like something I don’t comment on it. If the poster has zero comments and 4k views, they get the idea, no need to be a downer. I wish everyone would try to be uplifting of others instead of judgemental.
That being said, thanks for sharing the craft. Great idea and for those of us who love all things beach, I like them
Welcome to the family! Thanks for those kind words. I don’t let them affect me. The constructive feedback is great, and I love it. It’s the downright negativity that has no place! ❤️❤️❤️
I can't wait to create with shells from my Grandmother's from Floida and England seashore visits when I was a young girl. Over 50 years ago. I will be checking out your shop. Thanks for creating Peace and Beauty. I have felt enveloped through your presentation. Barb in Oklahoma.
What a great idea!
Put a piece of clear packing tape on the backside of the hole. When the modgepodge dries, pull the tape off.
great idea!
I can't get over how cute those are. FUN WELL DONE!
My mom and I just watched this video and were so in love with this! Thank you for showing your talent on UA-cam. We ordered the resin just now and can't wait to get started on our projects. 😊 keep making your wonderful art ❤
Awesome! Thank you!
I’m obsessed with every one of your videos. Thank you for sharing your art with us. ❤
Thank you so much 😀
I never thought that oyster shells could be dressed up so beautifully. Love it. :)
Also, have you tried Temu for embellishments. I've gotten some nice little trinkets for my projects thru them.
I have bought from Temu before, but I love Amazon prime!
These are really pretty!
thank you!
So cute !! Great video. I cant wait to try to make some. Thanks for sharing.
Have fun!
Omgosh you’re so talented! Your ideas are amazing and your artistry is fabulous! I’ve looked for the seahorses like you have and am not having any luck. Can you please give me a link to where you purchase them? They’re so pretty.
Thank you! I got these at Dollar Tree, but it’s a seasonal item.
I enjoyed your video very much and will be copying your work. Beautiful work and thanks for sharing.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much 😊
Very pretty and creative. Every video of yours inspires me to do the same. Thanks for the videos!❤❤❤
Thanks so much 😊
Fun to watch the process but with your camera, hard to see how beautiful the colors are.
I’ll do better on the next one!
pearls are a nise touch. good video, thanks
Thanks for watching!
Def not my taste at all but as long as you love making and people love buying looks like a win win
Yep, these sell very well. Maybe try this and make it your own
Oh my I just discovered your channel this week while waiting for "Debby" to hit us here in Myrtle Beach SC. I love your board with the nails, do you have a video on how to make that? I've never used resin before but I'm so anxious to try it out. Guess I'll have to search the rest of your video's and I'm going to make mermaid trash just as soon as my crushed glass arrives. Love your style and willingness to share!
Debby is packing a lot of rain! Be safe. I have friends in MB too. Don’t be afraid to try resin. It’s reallly a lot of fun! Here is a video on making the board. It works so well with the shells and the ornaments.
ua-cam.com/video/AaU_1GXE1xo/v-deo.html
I also just subd! I will binge watch when I can.
Awesome! Thank you!
Thank you
That was fun! 🎉❤🎉
Thank you!
Those tiny starfish are a good addition to
thanks! Aren’t they so cute?
So pretty!
Thank you! Cheers!
Loved the video. Need a real close-up 😊
I was having camera issues, but I will do better closeups on the next one!
💕
Very beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
I wonder if you laid the shells on a cookie sheet full of rice, it would support them better. Just a thought.
Or sand…I have plenty of that!
The blue and the background with the blue you trying to put it in the shells and those blue gloves is just washing everything out I can't even see anything. So I'll watch another of your videos
So sorry, but these are just about the only gloves I am not allergic to!
Your videos have me obsessed with oysters. I live in Florida and walk some islands in Bokeelia and have collected over 200. I am making napkin rings, trinket trays and ornaments for Christmas gifts. Thanks for the inspiration. Do you have a website to send you pictures? Love your channel!
THANK YOU! Glad I could give you some ideas! My email address is acoastalmagnolia@gmail.com. I’d love to see them!
@@ACoastalMagnolia Cool I will send you some in a while when I have made a bunch. The amazing thing is a lot of my oysters are literally all full of algae, but about 30 minutes in a little bleach and water and they clean up amazing! Sometimes I don't even know what I have until they are cleaned.
What drill bit do you use? I’ve been using my Dremel to drill. My shells with it constantly breaks.
I use my regular drill with a SHARP bit. Run it at a high speed and don’t apply too much pressure. The thin shells are very tricky.
Do you clean your shells with muriatic acid followed by water? A recall a video from a lady in Sarasota who did a UA-cam video on how to clean shells. It beats lighter fluid.
Nope, soap, water and bleach!
What is mermaid trash
Where are you finding your shells. Every time I go to the beach, I never find any.
Usually on my beach, or on the spoil islands in the river. We have had ZERO lately. It’s hit and miss though. The shells will come back.
Could you tell me the type of clay and mold you used to make the starfish
DAS air dry clay, and not sure of the mold.
I have a bunch of blue oyster shells, how would you go about creating with those as ornaments with paint, trash, charms and resin? The bottom is dark blue and the middle is a light grayish blue.
Thanks you're a plethora information.
OMG I would not cover those up at all! How about a very thin band of Mermaid Trash along the edge? Small charms embedded along the way, resin or varnish for shine. That blue should have top billing!
@ACoastalMagnolia the blue is on the backs of them and they are thin length wise
@ACoastalMagnolia Oh I'm mistaken they are not blue oyster they are blue mussel shells found on the west coast beaches here in California. Would that make a difference in decorating them?
Do something to highlight that beautiful color! Those mussel shells are gorgeous.
@ACoastalMagnolia thanks I'm stumped though I'm not suffering each one can become an ornanent being thin and small.
I'm confused.. did u sell these before this video?
No, these will be at my first fall show in October.
@@ACoastalMagnolia please let us know how they do!
Isn't it too heavy for a tree?? Just asking.
no, not really.
Hi. I do not see the link for the mermaid trash. I only see Amazon links. No Etsy.
grange, not sure what happened! here it is
acoastalmagnolia.etsy.com/listing/1765394003
@@ACoastalMagnolia thank you
How much do you sell them for
$5 each.
What is on the table you are working on
I think you are asking about the thing with nails? It’s my jig that I made. It’s awesome. See my creation video to learn what it is and why you need to make one! ua-cam.com/video/AaU_1GXE1xo/v-deo.html
@@ACoastalMagnolia no I mean the color under the shells. A mat???
The shells are resting on the jig with the nails. I use it when I paint to catch the drips.
@@ACoastalMagnolia no that's not what I mean. It looks like paint splotches all over the table but in an irregular pattern.
oh gotcha! Those really are paint splotches all over the table in an irregular pattern! I am a sloppy artist.
It’s hard to see what you’re doing because your working surface is so chaotic
Well, art is not always neat and clean! This is a true art studio, not a UA-cam video booth.
You're Crafts are beautiful I love the outcome.. But I have to mute it when you are mixing things because it just overpowers your video and I can hardly understand what you're saying
Oh goodness! I’m sorry, I will makes sure to mute the volume when I do that!
It’s a little sad to deplete the oyster shells from the beach…taking some for what you might need is different than going out picking up every shell imo.
Nice ornament..very pretty
There are MILLIONS of these all over the beaches. They are not being depleted at all. I could not possibly deplete them.
Seriously???😅
Depleting them from what? They will literally sit there until they get broken up into the sand.
@@ACoastalMagnolia😂
Unfortunately, those baby star fish, SHOULD NOT BE BOUGHT! Those are taken from the sea and killed. They dont get to become full adults, and make more baby star fish. Kinda like caviar in fish. We need them to live and breed. The sea is running out of animals and fast.
These are actually farmed, not harvested from the ocean.
