I think it would be very cool to have all those pieces inside of a clear turtle. It would look really cool.🥰

That's exactly 💯👍 what I was thinking, there's no doubt that would look great,by the way I think the only way she hears suggestions is on her Facebook page, she mentioned it before 😊 I don't use Facebook so that leaves me out of the loop 😢

For coasters and the like that just… didn’t work out… I will trim em in gold or silver and then I give them to my niece and sister. One is in school and the other is a practicing cosmetologist and they use them in their day to day as palettes, apparently. I’m trying to figure out a way to add a loop to the bottom for a thumb… or maybe drill a thumb hole?
But yeah, all those old coaster and trivet fails go to them and their cosmetology school. Beats tossin’ em in the landfill…❤❤❤

I NEVER thought to use random pieces. Cause goodness knows when I make projects I have extra resin that I've poured in numerous coaster molds so as to not waste it lol. I might have to taken them outside for a good smashing lol. This is why I love it here(been here since 2022), Julie you have such good ideas, creative ways to change up, and you talk through with us as if we are right next to you 🙂This came out great!!

The turtle is beautiful! I love the colour palette. The fact that it can use up bits of resin that many people have hanging around is fantastic in its recycling old and reducing new products is not only decluttering for a person's hobby area, but easier on the wallet and environment. ☺️ Thank you for sharing your craft with us 🙏. 🤩😍🤩

He's beautiful! I wish you had made more of a mosaic in clear resin with your old resin pieces. I understand you were filling space and saving some new resin, but with all the extra hearts you made, it doesn't much seem to have saved your resin filling. I hope you will consider making a turtle combined with a mosaic of your scrap resin. It might take some time to round off triangular edges, but I would love to see and even possibly buy such a turtle! Your creativity with resin is truly amazing! Thank you for sharing.

Aw. I thought I was going to get to see a mosaic project. I think those are cool. And the bits being tossed in looked really amazing!
But yes, anything that turns out ugly or not fully cured, it's great fodder for filling up those large molds! And if it's black, no one is going to know the difference.
This project does look great anyway.

One thing I've recently discovered when dusting with the powder... make sure not to leave any accumulated powder in any crevices or points in the mold, or the resin will bubble around it. The difference in the bubbles I've gotten from this is that the powder successfully transferred into the bubble, rather than seeing the Black resin.

I would have broken the brown and bronze and gold pieces smaller and used those pieces to make it look like a more realistic shell on the turtle. Some of the pieces actually look like true turtle shell. Just think about that. You could also make a template of each section then cut those sections out and put them in the corresponding section.
