  • I started filming from Trenton as I was dozing from New York to there. We enjoy a fast train ride from Trenton to Washington DC. All stations, interlockings, and passing trains are identified. We also get to witness the engine change in Washington as this train continues on to Norfolk, Va. In addition, a surprise locomotive gets the limelight in Washington. I didn’t know these locomotives still ran.

When your train was leaving 30th st., you could see traffic on the Schuylkill. There was a bldg. between the tracks and the highway that housed the mechanics that serviced auto and trucks that belonged to the Pennsy. The Cadillac Limos were kept there too. One of which my Father drove.

When I was a kid, Frankford Junction was where I took many trains to 30th st. My Mother would take my sister and I to Atlantic City on the old PRSL.

Love seeing that speed on the Corridor. Finally got a chance to take Acela 2107 from Philadelphia 30th Street Station down to Washington DC Union Station to visit my s/o and I'm always amazed and overjoyed at just how fast our trains can get on that stretch. Really pretty route too!

The Amtrak facility just north of Wilmington is the old Pennsylvania RR Wilmington Electric car shop. It’s where the Pennsylvania serviced the GG1’s and the E44’s. The Bear Delaware shop is off of a non electrified spur farther south.

Where AMTK 86 whizzed by may have been where this train crossed from DE into MD.
As for landmarks nearby, Otts Chapel Road (passed under at 59:35) is definitely in DE, and Iron Hill Road (passed under at 59:58 a few secs after 86 went by) is definitely in MD. Thank Google Maps. If you were sitting on the other side of this train, per Google Sat, the state line (the n/s portion of the M-D Line) may have been easier to spot.
