Hey I got to go racing! Here’s what happened! Barracuda Drag Car: First Race 512 with Slicks! #mopar #bigblock #nonamenationals ua-cam.com/video/m7S0kHawPqI/v-deo.html
I just subscribed a couple of days ago, and have been enjoying your video catalogue. Well, everytime you fire up that beautiful purple beast, i get the grins !!!! I just wish i was standing beside her !! Cheers Sir 😊
Hey JMJ totally organised as usual, I really enjoy how you promptly have made your own way through this process, and your experience. Good luck and it sounds like it’s about to boogie down. 👍 👍
PS they closed our local track that’s been here In Sacramento since 65 pretty much grew up there, sad day, my way of like in Cali is almost gone, keep the faith👍
Looking forward to keeping up with your drag racing adventures this year. You have the knowledge and it will show in the car’s consistent times. Good parts in the right places. Well. As far as you can trust new parts😛
AED makes the best! I can attest! They make Holleys work out of the box! As for the blower, I think it’ll hurt my bracket racing consistency 😂. But if you bring it to NNN, I’ll show you some taillights!
Remember point load math with slicks. Wider is not always better. The more weight you displace across the tire is less pressure on the face of the tire. Thus sticker compounds are important to hook. Consistency wins races in bracket racing period. Another thing about tires is lower rpm launch is helpful but you can break loose at 60ft too. Remember race it, break it, repeat till you get it right Joe.
I run on some less than ideal surfaces. Even a redneck like myself can make a slick work. I don’t think I need steam rollers with my combination, but for my goals, wider will be better. Should have some news soon!
@JustMoparJoe like the saying goes results may vary lol track conditions change greatly from morning till afternoon and so does air density too. It's all a crap shoot brother. Still waiting on the 440 dyno test results lol wonder how far off the mark I am
Hey Joe, Tim here, i aint done with vid yet, but i tend to stop it and make a comment while the brain is workin...i changed my reg out yrs ago....i went with the volumax Holley (we used to hog out the 802 std reg that comes with the blue pump).....i run -8 from cell to reg, then 2 -6's to the carb, one -6 for each bowl....i NEVER run outa fuel.....just a thought
Thanks for sharing! I like the log idea because it has multiports. I will tap off two for the carb, and one for the nitrous plate. I may run from the log in to a regulator for nitrous if need be. I’d bet it’s great
@@JustMoparJoe that sounds reasonable.....i still like the volumax reg, i took it apart, cuz i'm a nerd, its pretty good inside....volumax reg, and ur log idea, shud supply plenty of fuel for ur plate, and carb...THANKS for givin a shout back......keep us nerds posted!!
@@JustMoparJoe keep us posted brother, if u ever get in a pickle, i'm GOOD friend with a MOPAR guru dude......his street Sattelite runs 5's all day on spray, his '69/8 Cuda runs 8:60's on motor (qtr this time)....both 440 platforms, no hemis.....but cubes are large....Sattelite is a 472, Cuda is a 582.....just fuel for some chat....PEACE my brother.....btw, remember, i wasnt to far from u back in the late 80's, as i was stationed in Blytheville.....good stuff!!!!
The races shouldn’t have been canceled this weekend . It was perfect from Saturday afternoon thru Sunday . I kinda like the chrome covers , oh well . I’m pretty sure that was Drew on the phone . He’s saying “ move over I’m coming around you “
You lucky dog Joe! Trying to find those valve covers is nuts. You have to take out a loan to get them. I have a la and not going to pay 500 for them. Also don’t know why they stopped making the old Crome 360 covers?
I love the Radial stability. But Slicks can make up for a lot of things. I always had axle hop in my old truck with any radial after I got a certain power level. Swapped to slicks and never saw another problem.
This is the same Street Dominator that I used on my dyno 400 engine. It was professionally ported way before I got, and I liked it because it allows plenty of hood clearance with my nitrous plate, and HVH 2" spacer.
I remember dick Landy doing a fuel system on a hot little Street duster and he ran 2 Holley blue pumps two Regulators one line from each regulatory the front and rear fuel bowl
Don't paint the valve covers, let the heat go out!!!!! Put a G meter in the car keep track of how hard your car is ACCELERATING!!!! That will tell you what going on 🤔🤔🤔. Run TWO LINES to the carburetor, been there done that. You never want to run low on fuel 🤔🤔🤔.
I am definitely considering two lines. Especially since I have the gauge in the Log. I want it easy to try multiple carbs on the same track day. It usually takes 20-30 minutes to swap one with throttle cable adjustments and spacers. I want to film more tests this year
Hell yeah, Joe! Who cares about valve covers!😂😂 purest bitch because I have vintage Mickey Thompson aluminum covers on my 340 GTS dart(69). Too bad , not mopar performance. Oh well, ..💁

Great video Joe! The cast valve covers look good! Thanks for sharing!🤙🏽

Thanks so much!
Hey Joe cars looking great and very happy to see ya ditching the Crome covers good luck this season buddy.
Thanks Brother. I’m hoping to run IHRA points for our track. Trying to schedule accordingly
The sun shining half the day yesterday and all day today, with Highs in the lower 60’s to have a rain cancellation for todays race 🙃. Until next week!
Joe just the fact that the fuel tends to stay a little cooler with a return is a plus and yes more consistent pressures👍 covers look great as is.
Thanks brother! Send me some good drag racing vibes for the year. It’s my favorite thing to do in the world.
Good vibrations headin your way, 😎
PS they closed our local track that’s been here In Sacramento since 65 pretty much grew up there, sad day, my way of like in Cali is almost gone, keep the faith👍
Wise choice on the fuel log!! A lot of people love chrome, myself included, but ditching the K-mart valve covers is one headache saved
Thanks buddy! Great results so far
Right on brother, can’t wait to get back on the strip. Good luck this year.
Same to you! If it works out for me, I’m going to run IHRA points this year at my track.
@@JustMoparJoeYou’re an assassin at the tree so as long as the car hooks up, you will do well.
@@Duster_Garage I really appreciate that! I’m trying to get back in the groove! I know you’re gonna represent in PA for the Mopars!
Nice update video! Wishing you and the 'Cuda a happy, safe, and successful 2024 !!
Thanks, Tim! Hopefully 512willrun!
Mopar Action!👍👍
Rev Um Up!
Mopars go to the front!
Its almost time too wake the old Barracuda up ,,definitely need the big tires 👍 👍 👍 👍
Thanks brother! More room if needed too!

Change is good. Helps you learn and improve.
Absolutely! This is a lesson I’ve learned before, but neglected to remember 😂
Gidday brother hood hope you have a great season this one
Thank you! Footage coming as soon as possible
"Unbreakable..." Remember you said that :)
Going to do the best I can with what I got!
I HIGHLY recommend a 10-71 Blower w/ Dual AED/Holley Carburetors.
AED makes the best! I can attest! They make Holleys work out of the box! As for the blower, I think it’ll hurt my bracket racing consistency 😂. But if you bring it to NNN, I’ll show you some taillights!
Motor looks nice...and hope the thumb print helps the car hook up ...good stuff can't wait for more...thanks
Thank you! I’m hoping the same. 🫡
Nice upgrades😊
Thanks Shane!
Love the new valve covers, I agree they look way better.👍
I think so too! Thanks brother
Definitely a win with the valve covers. Sounds great too !
Thanks brother! She’s sealed up nicely
Here’s to a good season with the new setup ! Looking forward to getting to the track.
Thanks Mark! Same to you buddy
A little better all the time, looks great brother! I’ve never heard of that fuel log, pretty cool!
Thanks, Ryan. It’s a cool idea. Should make my pump last much longer
The upgrades look great
Thanks brother! I’m hoping to see a track this Sunday, Lord willing
I didn't know if those valve covers would fit over roller rockers
Yes sir. They are the most desired for that reason.
@@JustMoparJoe I thought the chrome looked great but I hate the oil leaks
Games for money on my phone.😊
Mopar to the Front
I lost my password Google recovery.
Games for money on my phone now.
Sounds good Joe, lookin forward to the new racing season.😊
Thanks buddy! I’m ready to get out and try it!

Hahah! You may have a point! I even checked George’s. I would have murdered 7.0 class. Or broke out trying 😂
I like the value cover change I've always been a fan of aluminum valve covers with fins
Thanks brother. I thought about painting the inside of the fins orange, or black, or argent, or purple. But I figured raw was fine for now 😂
Big fan!

Thanks buddy! Sunday looks great 👍🏼
Ready for action! Joe haven't seen video of you weighing the car just curious of race ready weight?
I absolutely need to! Haven’t weighed with the big block. It was 2945 with the iron headed 408.
😂thats an awesome car looking forward to see it on the track
Going to give it a go!
I'm going to a slightly taller slick, 29.5 to a 31" takes away from the gear a bit. Bias ply or radial choice?
I love the Radial stability. But Slicks can make up for a lot of things. I always had axle hop in my old truck with any radial after I got a certain power level. Swapped to slicks and never saw another problem.
My 499 low deck made the most power with a 950 Holley HP
Excellent! I’m looking forward to trying some new things at the track this year.
👍👍👍
Thanks Jaybo
Slick!!

I’m pretty sure most people will be looking at your tail lights. How does he do it 😳😀👍🏻🇦🇺.
Haha! I appreciate that. But I need to improve each year. Mopar to the front!
dual lines and enough pump for G force on launch to recover, also have you considered a Dominator Carb yet?
