To the annoying ass people saying that music producing like this isn't a talent, or it's a disgrace to the generation; you're dull and your opinion is blindly biased. In reality, a person who produces music knows as much about it as someone who learns one instrument and plays in a famous band. If you're a music producer such as Romero, you're essentially a one man band, and you make all the beats and mix them. If you want to bitch and complain about there being almost no vocals, then I don't think you've ever "felt" music in your life. 90% of the time the emotion is in the beat. The lyrics just give it a backbone

    • @saulsilver6301
      @saulsilver6301 9 років тому +30

All was good until you said most of the emotion is in the beat

Saul Silver In Toulouse, half of the song is very much the beat. The drop makes you feel great and upbeat. This is EDM, we're not talking about Taylor Swift or Adele

at the end of the day all that matters is who's making the hit. Many producers are self taught and use their tools the way it works for them. Theres no right or wrong way of making music. Just enjoy the art of music and move along. - New Generation Music Producer

To make the axwell woosh use the es p and take the noise up and other waves to 0 and put the frequency in max, the add some modulation delay and get the feedback like -80% and Flanger - Chours at 8% and make the adjust you want to make it sound as you like

I'm surprised, this is basic producing dance music with Logic and mix it ITB with no need of mixing console or outboard gear. I was hoping to see more in depth on how these dance music producers mixing their sound using bus (group) / send to get their sound wide, deep, and compressed.. Since Nicky using lots of pre-build samples so he don't need much processing on each track except comp for side chaining. Just a low cut EQ and Distortion for color/saturation
If i'm not mistaken.. Swedish House Mafia did real tracking with mixer console in recording studio.
and for the classic reverse reverb part.. he can just do 'Bounce to a new track' to make it simple and ready on a new track..
But, at the end of the day how you mix & master the track is more important to deliver the sound character you need.. :)

What I take from these FM's is
    1) it Demystifies these great works, these guys aren't reinventing the wheel. You cant make these songs at home
    2) The importance of the blend
    3) A lot of playing around and presets when u find what you like
    4) The little nuances, (white noise, layered kicks) gives it that feel.
    5) FIND A KILLER SYNTH AND CRANK IT!

25:30 - Staccato* Funny how big EDM producers don't have a shred of knowledge about music theory at all. Kind of urks me. If these people actually took about an hour to google about music theory, they'd make far better tracks, musically. Lol.
Still, interesting to see how others produce. The guitar synth is pretty cool, show's you don't need expensive crap to make good sounds!

You can use 3xOsc for creating White noise, it's in FLS as default and you just select the noise shape (looks like .wave sound) for all 3 oscilliators, then choose a note and extract it to min. 1:00:000.
Then Assign it to a free mixer track and add a fruity free filter. Set "Q" to 1, type stay as low pass, Freq set as something around 300 Hz, then create an automation clip from Freq and set the right point to something between 5 & 10 and the left as around 80 and there you go :)

Ok. I took a dirty bass from massive and ran it through ohmicide for distortion. Then I ran noise through a separate bus, ran it through a preset in fab filter, added distortion, and now I have a bass that sounds just like this guys. I also added a bit of swing to the end of the bass, compressed it with a kick, added sausage fatner, and I got a groovy fucking kick / bass line going. Almost as good as this guys. This is part of the reason I don't like this style of music. Its too simple and easy to copy.
