      For real, I see so many people treat Chris like he should've known what was going down, but all dude was told was they were going to scare some guys. Taylor is a psycho so him being dressed in full tac gear wouldn't be as big a red flag as some people claim. And if Taylor mentioned it was a job Barry needed help with, then why would Chris assume Barry was involved in criminal/hitman type shit? Dude was just trying to kick it with the boys for an afternoon and get a nice paycheck and ended up getting flipped upside down literally and mentally before being shot by who he thought was a friend...

    I love that they had Barry dream his performance where he does the line "perfectly," because it's such a hollow version of what actually happens. And it helps show that the costuming and nailing 'fancy' speech isn't acting, it's just hitting lines. Comedy is the hardest genre, I think. With all other genres the audience can have their guard up and you weasel your way in; with certain genres like horror, you WANT the audience to keep their guard up the entire time. But with comedy, the audience has to have their guard down so they can laugh, and if you don't instantly connect with them, it's over. They won't lower their guard, the moment has passed. So if you can do comedy right, you can do anything imo

      That's because everyone can relate to making bad choices and living with the consequences but when you see people make really dumb choices despite being warned multiple times:
      1.Barry telling him to get out of the car,
      2.Seeing the other two guys in camo and acting really hyped inside the car with loaded weapons and no trigger discipline.
      3.Barry telling him verbatim that he's a hitman and that he can't go to the cops and then proceeds to list of all the reasons why eg. the cartel will kill his family,going to jail etc.
      4.Despite all of the above he starts yelling to Barry that he's going to the cops and that no one knows he's here with him in the middle of nowhere.
      It's hard for people in these times, when we feel that we need to be super cautious all the time, to emphatize with people who didn't make one bad choice and fall down a slippery slope but made a long series of nothing but bad choices and finally feel the consequences.
      tl;dr
      Why the fuck did he jump in the car with gun totting nutjobs to scare off some guys when he was in logistics and has zero context of what he was getting into and at the end tell a hitman in the middle of nowhere that he's going to the cops and no one knows he's there with said hitman ?

    If it wasn't obvious of Sally before now we have it on a silver plater the depths of her character

    • @SidPhoenix2211
      @SidPhoenix2211 4 місяці тому +4

      I mean, yes, Sally is QUITE self-absorbed. But I'd say that she paid attention to Barry. She noticed that he wasn't present for the standing ovation, then tracked him down to thank him for how HELPFUL he was to her and her performance. She thanks him quite sincerely. She even notices that he clearly had to go to a pretty dark place and says that maybe that can be his process (i.e. recognizes that maybe he's finally learned how to channel his emotions to fuel a performance, much like she does)(ofc, she doesn't know what that place was).
      So yeah, while she is pretty self-absorbed, I'm not sure if this particular moment is the best example of that.
      And re: "the guy she's involved with"... She wasn't involved with him. She slept with him once up until this point and we all saw how that ended lol. Since then, their relationship has been estranged and kinda non-existent.

You said it yourself, she thanks him for being "helpful" to her. Acknowledging he had to go to his "dark place" without even asking him what took him to get there? Show interest, concern, worry?
