Well Dave, the day has finally arrived ! For the next 25-30 hours, all you have to do is put one foot in front of the other ! Sounds easy when I say it like that !! But it is probably the biggest challenge you have ever taken on so we are all rooting for you back in Ireland. Sending love & prayers across the pond to you !! A big shout out to Claire, Sharon, Glen & your trusty pacer ! May you all enjoy the wonderful adventure that today is going to be !😘😘😘
Thanks Ann, even with all my build up I still had to dig incredibly deep to get the job done….but get it done I did 🏃🏻♂️💪💯. Thanks for all the good wishes along the way 🙏
Thanks Kate, Leadville wasn’t easy but, as you know, I got the job done. Very happy with the outcome in the end….just not so sure about the middley bit 😛
Thanks David. If you were watching then it probably took a little longer than expected because I struggled immensely between mile 37 and 62….but then I determined that unless I was swept off the course I was going to keep going until I crossed that finish line. And that’s what I did. Best finish line experience ever. Thanks for sharing the journey 🙏
Thanks Jennifer, hmm, did I enjoy the experience? Not every step but heck, that made the finish line oh so sweet. Should be a good video in it I hope. Thanks for following along 🙏
Thanks for the support. I wasn’t so sure I would make it to the finish line for a while but once I got my mental game back in check there was nothing that could stop me from crossing that finish line in Leadville. Thanks for the support 👍
Thanks so much Nigel, I really appreciate that. My crew and I had one hell of an experience on Saturday/Sunday and the finish line was the very best I have ever experienced. I couldn’t have choreographed it better. Hopefully I can put a video together that will do it justice 👍🙏
Great job Dave - fun to watch this series and to watch you finish on 6th street in downtown. That heat in midday just knocked me out, fell behind on salt and that was that. GI issues, then cramping on Hope Pass did me in and i could not "will" the body to respond after I left Winfield with plenty of time to make it. Alas. But you got it done during a very low completion rate year (43%). Kudos to you! Fun time, despite the results, keep on keepin' on...
Thanks Eric, I had the very same experience as you. The fact that there was no mini Mt Elbert hydration station set up was unfortunate because I had blown straight passed Halfpipe. My stomach was gone by the time I came into TL. I struggled immensely from there to Winfield as my race video will show. The only thing that saved me is that I had a buffer at that stage and that allowed me to spend a long time trying to recover at the aid stations. It was such a tough race. Im sorry to hear you didn’t get to experience the finish line. Do you think you would go back?
Best of luck , for sure you have put I some great preparation , a 14 mile longest ever run for me this week for fun ended it at the Eco park Porthtowan finish point of the ARC
Thanks as always Tadeusz. Even with all my prep my stomach packed in early with the heat. I had to dig very dig…but that was what made the finish line all the sweeter 💪🏃🏻♂️
Ah thanks for looking Jack. I just got home to LA last night after a crazy wonderful road trip through Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Nevada. Once I get my washing done I’ll get down to business on my race video. Need to do it justice so it will probably be a couple of weeks. Stay tuned 👍🎥🏃🏻♂️
@@filmmytrailrun that's great,I'm really looking forward to it,I hope it's a good long one, would love to see the real details of the race, keep up the good work,I get really inspired by your work 🇮🇪🙏
In the bag? Not so sure about that. A 💯 miler has a funny way of kicking you in the ass and Leadville was no different. It knocked me down once or twice but I’m glad to report it couldn’t knock me out. Best finish line experience ever. Thanks for the support and for sharing this journey 👍
Ha ha, thanks for your concern. All is good. I took a couple of weeks traveling back from Colorado to hit some of the National Parks. Then a couple of weeks to settle back into life in LA. But yes, enough with the excuses already, there is definitely a video coming. The process has begun and this coming week should see the back broken on it. Stay tuned 😳
Sorry, only really catching up on things now. The organizers were not great at all at providing tracker information. I hope you managed to find it. It was a tough but ultimately a great day at the office.
@@filmmytrailrun sure did david! Found it on athlinks! U dropped of a bit and came back - how did you find it? Hope the body is recovered! Looking forward to the video (if you made one) be super proud ! Well done david!
Thanks Stuart, it was a tough one out there. Even after all my talking about it my stomach still packed in early on in the race and that made things very difficult indeed. Still, having been through a few tough battles in the past. I managed to get myself back on course and cross that finish line in Leadville. What an experience. Thanks for following my journey 🙏

Thanks Alan, I hope your 14 miler went smoother than my Leadville. I got it done, but man, I had to dig deep. Thanks for sharing the journey 👍
Best of luck Dave
Thanks for the support, I’m glad to report I got the job done but, I’ll tell yah, it wasn’t easy….but then who wants to hear about easy stuff? 😛
Congrats on finishing the race, I had the tracker open in a tab during the day.
