- I wasn't planning on running the Silver Rush 50, but my bike packing trip to Sweden got cancelled at the last minute (Airline Strike) so I decided to jump in this race. I felt great the entire time, which gives me confidence going into the Leadville 100 this August. I'm wearing the Brooks Catamount

Missing out on my Swedish adventure is a huge bummer, but the energy at this race really lifted my spirits!
Yeah, bummer! When will you go?
“If only life was a constant string of aid stations”. You’re the man Duzer. 👍🏻❤️
“If only life could be a constant stream of aid stations.” It is buddy, videos like this are one of the stations!
Good point!!
I really wonder how anyone could not like this one, your truly infectious personality and positive vibes. The world needs way more of it nowadays. Thanks for sharing it with us!
awe thanks!! I'll keep spreading the good vibes, you can count on that
Your shorts summoned Courtney!!
Haha, true! I didn’t even know that she was gonna be there
DUZER! So nice to meet you at the race - you crushed it while filming and meeting people along the way. Mind boggling. I think you're going to have a lot left in your legs for the 100 miler this year. Leadville is no Sweden but you sure put a lot of smiles on peoples faces with your presence and energy! Love the recap!
Great meeting you as well!! I'm feeling much more confident about the 100 miler after this race...been training quite a bit.
Super fun video, Ryan! 50 miles--wow!! Best quote: "I think life should be a series of aid stations." Yes!!!!
Aid stations always have the best energy!
Ha ha yes 50 miles at 10,000 feet elevation! That's 80.4 km 3,048m. Granted he's lives in Bolder but running a long race at that high elevation is quite an accomplishment, the air is a lot thinner up there so your body is telling you WTF are you doing? XD On Sat I just did a 25km hike starting at about 3,100 m with 1,352 m of elevation gain. So I can appreciate the thought of throwing in another 75 k. As a salesman in Ohio said, "Onward and upward." Keep moving, exploring your world - and stay fit an healthy. My moto is, "If you don't make time for your wellness you'll be forced to make time for your illness."
Love Courtney, she totally boosted my spirits cheering for folks on the bike the next day!
She's amazing!
Great job, Ryan!!!
Loving these cool vibes on this hot summer afternoon!
Thank you for being a great human being!
Your shadow stayed with you all the way..well,done shadow..👏👏👏
I just ran this race last weekend, in part due to your video. Thanks for making it. I heard other people on the course talking about watching it for recon info before the race too.

Events like these super charge me!
I love your shout outs with all the other runners out there! Amazing and inspiring content Ryan.
Thanks! So fun seeing everyone
Love watching your bike packing videos, but your running videos are just as good! switching up the content from biking to running keeps things entertaining and inspiring! Can't not want to get up into the mountains when watching this video.
THANK YOU! This means a lot to me. Have fun up in the mountains!
Keep sending good vibes out there!
You know it!
Can't decide which is more impressive, that run or that indestructible quiff. Great job on both!
Whoop Whoop, 2 legs, 2 wheels, always an inspiration! I think that jorts would have been a more hilarious shorts stand-in! So much ❤ Ryan!
Awe thanks!! I’ll try the jorts next time 😂
Ryan Van Duzer’s tour of friends, I love it!❤️
50 mile friend parade!
Duzer is the king of the pain cave, and the good vibe!
The pain cave is a little easier when the vibes are high!
Ryan, you are crazy. I mean it in a good way. How possibly you’re able to film it, cheering other people and be so enthusiastic trough those cruel kilometers, I mean miles, all the way to the finish line? 😄 You are great. Great video. And congratulations. Good job, both running and filming. Jaroslav 🙂
Thanks my friend!! Cheering people on always keeps my own mood high!!
Incredible scenery, you live in such a beautiful state Ryan👌I never got into running, cycling has always been my thing but kudos to anybody that gets out there 👍
It sure is beautiful out there! Hope life is treating you well
Cool video Ryan! That was fun to watch. I had a good race too, but man, they are never easy, you said it right.
The final bit of this race is a rude awakening!
So much fun getting to meet and chat with you out there! What a day it was. Good luck on the 100 next month. I have no doubt you'll crush. Cheers, bud!
Alright, after a long hiatus might have to sign up for another local trail race after watching this. Love the energy man!
I recommend it! This race got me all charged up
Awesome job! 32nd overall is fantastic! That was really cool seeing Courtney out there. She's a beast!
Courtney is THE BEST!
Your videos are like a series of Aide Stations. I always end up with a smile and wanting to get out there.
I'm fueled by smiles! Have fun out there
Awesome. So hard so fun. I did a 15k obstacle race lady sat. Still sore and still happy 😁. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Nothing better than feeling sore after a race! Congrats
Great stuff Ryan! Shout out to the high five train @ Stumptown. Two of those are my sons. I ran it as well and loved seeing, hearing, and feeling your energy out there. You rock!
Congrats on your race!! And give your sons another high five from me, their energy really helped!!
It is great to see you undertake a challenging adventure. I have missed your trials and tribulations as you have been recharging your batteries. Looking for your next thrilling challenge on the trails whereever that may be. Doug
It felt really good to be out there!
Great job! Crushed it 👍
Appreciate it! felt good out there
Thanks Ryan for sharing the energy, the scenery, and positive vibes. Seems you did well?
Yeah, I felt pretty strong out there. Thanks for watching
This is cool Ryan, you know when your with a bunch of people running or hiking it makes you feel like you have mor energy to get to the finish line, people to give you courage and congratulate you at the finish line.
I totally agree, being with people always get me PSYCHED UP!!
To see you making video and talking without loosing your breath just proves that your heart is the size of a freight train. You are amazing! I love that you enjoy every step of the way, every person who you see, every joy that you experience without worrying about "the finish". You enjoy the journey and are PRESENT in every moment. Thank you, Ryan! xoxo
Thank you so much, I can always count on you for a sweet and encouraging message. I hope that your summer is going well
Omg.. great vid as always Ryan. Loved it, but wow.. the highlight was definitely seeing Courtney really being a such a great ambassador for the sport
She’s incredible and everyone was so excited to see her!
You the man! Great run while filming
Thanks!
Thanks for the chat on the last big climb. My race fell apart shortly after the Black Cloud aid station.
Oh no! Sorry to hear that. It was a hot day out there
Love your running videos!
Thanks!! I really enjoyed this one
Unexpected but awesome. The best thing about a aid station is everyone turns in to Ryan Duzer.😃 so many smiles and positive people. It does the heart good. It was cool to meet a patreon supporter along the way.
One thing for sure to anyone that was worried. You are back for sure. You made it look easy, and it's not. Thanks for a Unexpected smile and motivation to GET OUT THERE!
Thank you so much for these kind words, they truly motivate me more than you know!! I'm feeling really strong again, and I'm so thankful for that!
@@duzer guess what I got out there 🤪 today. Nothing big 10 miles of single track to a lake. It was so awesome. It's my first real ride of the summer. Kinda been in a little funky myself. 👎Anyway I owe this one to you. Thank you Ryan ☮️
Awesome job! Huge accomplishment. Attitude has a lot to do with these types of races.
I agree! Smiling makes it hurt less
This makes me so happy ❤️
I ran super fast so I could home to you quicker!
You're over the top awesome!
;)
Awesome video as always.
I appreciate that
Love the Energy 🤙🏽 keep crushing those pursuits of embracing nature and one’s perceived limits…😉
You know it!
While some might think you're a bit over the top, I appreciate your good energy. I've tried to channel your energy when trying to work on my social anxiety. Thanks for your positivity.
Thank you! I'm sending you a supercharged hug from Colorado
such a fun video! sorry about your trip cancellation but nice to meet you in person. see you at the LT100!
See you there!!
I'm excited to see you run this again! I didn't get in the lottery this year so your videos will be awesome.
I hope that you get in next year!
Inspiring. Keep up the great content!
Thanks! Stay tuned for more!
Your energy is amazing. And the joy in all the faces that you catched in that "race" is awesome. Really great. Running is not my thing, but i will get my ride later today on my bike of course :) Greetz from germany. My english needs improvement, sorry :)
Thanks! Have fun on all your rides this summer
@@duzer Thanks, appreciate it!
Love the shadow play!
Thanks, my shadow had a great day :)
awesome dude!! thanks for reminding me running should be fun! doing a 1/8th traithlon saturday (500m swim, 20k bike, 5k run), my first triathlon ever, and the running part hurts! but I can't complain after watching you slay 50 miles!
Running is mostly fun :) I wish you all the best in your race, YOU GOT THIS!!
Looks like a hoot!
It was!
Great Video.. I almost feel like I am there.. Congrats Ryan.. Fantastic Views..
Thanks billy!
Love that pink shirt! Haven't ran a race that gave away a pink shirt yet....would love that for riding.
Also....getting a hug from Courtney but have amped you up!!! And made the runners around you winder who this sleeper pro is
I got that hot pink shirt at the Burningman Ultra!! It's my fave...and yes, hugging Courtney is a mood booster for sure!
Keep rocking it man! Fellow no-man's-land runner (and rider) it's amazing how people split into the two camps, leave a few of us in the middle.
I kinda like it...gives me a chance to settle down.
Wow! Good job! So jealous. I live in South FL and besides it being way too hot to run anywhere near 50 miles , it’s so boring. Flat with no scenery. I run almost every morning at 5am and it’s pure torture every minute with the heat and humidity!
The stoke is so awesome on this ultras. Looks so fun.
It’s a really fun race!
Truly amazing Ryan! Nice views and your energy is amazing. Staying sober for 5 plus years has caused me to become more active that ever and would love to meet up one day. All the best! Good luck on Lead!
Congrats on 5 years! I hope to meet you someday down the road
Please let me know where
on Thursday you bike? Thanks a lot!
Good job Ryan! Hope to maybe meet you and your brother in August.
I hope so too!
Running into Courtney on multiple occasions, thats almost like a dream come true! She has pizzaz and put more people across the finish line than she even knows, whatta woman!
Fantastic job on the entire vid u put together and even more of a fantastic job recovering from the tough runner mud pit crawl, good stuff man!
Courtney is SO AWESOME!! Her energy lifted the mood of so many runners.
Its funny to see myself in the background in your video. Just chilling 😎
It was fun meeting you!
Thanks!
THANK YOU!!
Wow, you looked like you were out for a Sunday Stroll. Nice video Thanks.
Saturday stroll :)
Great running with you! Hope to see you at LT100 again.
Great seeing you as well!! See you at the 100
Buenos dias from Norway :-)
Sorry about you missing out on your adventure in Sweden but at least now you know never to fly with SAS ;p Seriously though, thank you so much for this video. You know, like you I've always been a bikedude - though a roadie - and I would never even consider starting to run, much less trying something like long distance running. But you, dear Sir, you are changing all of that. Your videoes here on the tube and your undying positive spirits are an enormous inspriration to me, to the extent that even I wanna take up running and maybe some day I will be prep'ed enough for an ultra distance the likes of the one in this video. I've also never cared much for offroad cycling and biketouring/bikepacking and so I've never really looked into it, but through you adventures with and without the dynamic duo of John and Mira on the Baja and the GDMBR and what not, a whole new world of cycling and adventure has opened up to me. And it's all because of you and your channel, Sir, so I wanna express my sincerest gratitude for the work you put in and the person that you are. Thank you for existing. You're awesome :-) Oh, and thank you to your parents, too, without them all of this could never have kicked off LoL :-) Keep up your XLNT work, Sir, the world needs it! Hablamos! :-)
Oh WOW!! This comment seriously made my day, THANK YOU!! It's humbling to know that my adventures have inspired you to try new things, that's the goal with this channel! I wish you all the best and hope that you have a wonderful summer full of adventures. I'll get up to your part of the world someday!
@@duzer Thank you, Sir, and all the best to you, too. Bad luck that the strike came just at the time when you were going to Sweden, but the SAS airline are facing much worse problems than the ongoing strike. Thay're actually on the verge of bankruptsy. They're struggling bigtime making ends meet financially. How they've been running the airline so far is obviously not the right way so I hope they're able to sort it out.
One fine day the Duzer will be back in Scandinavia!! Like Darth Vader says: It is your destiny ! LoL
Nos vemos amigo!
50 mile run seams like a real challenge. I did a 30k & the shin splints that followed were EXTREME. Incredible footage and so amazed at the camera stabilization! Which GoPro is this?
Wasn't expecting another video so quick, love it. Great energy. Thanks Duzer!!!
Yep, that's the GoPro 10, pretty impressive stability. Thanks for watching!
Another great adventure. Running my first ultra in November, the inaugural My First 50! Terrified and excited lol
YOU ARE GONNA DO GREAT!! Just remember to smile a lot, it helps ;)
@@duzer just bike on over and be my pacer! We will have a grand time! I’ll even buy you beans!
People who think you’re over the top just haven’t experienced the vista from the top. I think your enthusiasm is awesome! I love your running videos. Sorry you had to miss Sweden. Another time.
Great race!
Well said!! Views from the top are always energy inducing
Love all of this! It's funny to see you do mostly biking, but then you'll share a "random" run like it's no big deal to run ultras! Ha! I'm hoping to run the Never Summer 100k next year ;-)
I’ve heard that race is awesome!!!
This is so timely for me; I’m ready to do my second 50. My last one was three years ago and that’s too long ago!
I wish you all the best!! YOU GOT THIS!!
I grew up in Leadville. What a beautiful and challenging place to run a race. :-)
Such a beautiful area!!
Your video always bring me energy. :) i run marathon too but not yet 50 milers.
You gotta start somewhere, marathons are also huge accomplishments
@@duzer yes it's true. 5 years a go, I never would have thought I could run more than 3 km.
Good to meet ya (at the porta-John) cheers Lauren Muir ✌️
Best place to meet :)
Courtney made my day there!!!
