Carl has invented Rockabilly and was and will be the best performing artist and songwriter of American Rockabilly with a great and humble character.

I got to meet Carl back in 1990. He was the most humble, and kindest men I have ever met. What a legend, and great guitarist. What you boil it down, Carl WAS Rockabilly. None better.

I prefer rockabilly with an upright acoustic bass, but Carl's son, Greg kicks the music along nicely with that electric bass.

The bass player is walking that Ric. On another subject, call it what you want, but it's nothing but 1-4-5 blues and black gospel, especially that first song. I've played bass and drums professionally for over 40 years and this is really easy to play!

Don't take this the wrong way, but if you think the point of these songs is how difficult they are to play, then you're missing the point.

I saw a feature today where a black lady claims that all white music was stolen from them. A lot of that is true. My people were Scotch/Irish Germans from the Blue Ridge mountains and blue grass is said to have its roots in the Old World. Rockabilly too. In reality music was born to worship God Almighty and somewhere along the line it got a bit side tracked on being man centered.

Sorry about this - I have loved Carl Perkins since 1956 and all the Sun classics he recorded - But electric bass is not great either, shame Greg isn't playing stand up bass

Harmonica not good in rockabilly - There should be a strong rhythm guitar
