I feel like the dog being revived instantly kinda references the fallout companion mechanic, which you can instantly bring any companion back from the dead. lol
Haha good point
@@LoneVaultWanderer how does the dog get revived by a mere stimpack? does anyone know?
@@edench73 Ever played Fallout 4?
@@edench73 To actually answer your question, a stimpack heals damage to internal organs instantly. It boost the regenerative process of the body.
If she was with Lucy maybe but technically they're both companions
At 14:00 you totally missed the reference, she was exploring the wasteland and forgot to put her weapon away when she approached a random location and talked to an NPC. Thats why she looks at the gun like "oops" when the guys acting all scared. That was the moment i fell in love with this show.
Dude ! Yes ! The way she is just talking non chalant with the gun out made me think of the game how you’d just walk around with your gun out
I absolutely loved all the audio they used from the games. gun noises, doors opening, stim packs, dogmeat's growls whines barks etc. it was a nice touch.
Yes! The pip-boy and terminal sounds were perfect, gave me a dopamine hit every time 😊
And the soundtrack from in game radio 📻
I love the little detail, when Lucy meets the wastelander, of her keeping her finger straight and off the trigger because it reflects her proficiency that she boasted about :)
Proper weapon safety
She obv. took the Trigger Discipline perk 😂 she’s great with pistols throughout the season though, I think if anything she sold her marksmanship short!
Titus running away saying "FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK...." was a frame-by-frame replay of Fallout 4 survival mode players' early-game encounters with Yao Gauis, with or without armor. It's surprising that even after all these years, even if I'm in power armor, if I'm ambushed by a Gaui that is the ONLY option: Run away saying "FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK..."
When you have dogmeat as a companion and if gets beat down during a fight with some creature, he will pop right back up once you hit him with stimpack.
Super Mutant was my first thought when I saw the hand on the gurney and it does fit
Im so happy we as a community get to go through all this together. Props for fighting the time zone war brotha. Thank you, ive been having fun reading the comments the last month or so, and on UA-cam that is a miracle. Props on leading with the positive vibes.
Thank you so much mate. Glad to be doing so 🫡
Lucy needed a bit of surgery after stimpack and Dogmeat didn't becaus Lucy is a Player and Dogmeat is an NPC (a companion, actually)
the moment this aired.. bethesda announced the release date for the f04 next gen update
Yup and they put fo4 on sale until its release date. How awesome.
@@SgtBacalhau i got it a few years ago on ps4 and got the platinum so looks like this will be the only game ive ever got platinum on twice 😂
Fallout is a great franchise. We have many years till Elder scrolls release. STARFIELD has serious issues. Microsoft needs revenue and is calling the shots now.
Hey Man just wanna say, In a current age of a lot of people spreading hate towards new TV Shows/Films/Games for franchises they like its nice to have you making content showing how actually excited you are about this show and how much your enjoying it, its so refreshing and is really helping my mood alot
When it comes to fiction, some people are extremely passionate about it. Star Wars, Star Trek, and Lord of the Rings are perfect examples of "critical fandom." Cannon and Non-canon debates especially. People need to remember it's just " make belive".
@@zzygyy 100% I mean Star Wars was horrendous, I think what fallout have done that the Star Wars sequels should of done is just take the universe and the vibe and make your own story there’s no need to bring back loads of old characters (Palpatine, Luke etc) to make a story there’s endless possibilities of things to create that people will enjoy watching more
@@zzygyy its good be critical, a lot of these new shows are made to spite the audience. Thankfully Fallout feels like it was made with respect.
@Hero_Of_Old I agree. Please the old school fans and adding new fans can be a fine balance. Respecting the source material vs changing it can drive some people nuts.
@@cammyymCS I've been a Star Wars fan since 1979. I love almost everything that has been coming out. I think people are far too critical about it. They don't seem to remember the days when we were happy for what we got, and that creators are allowed to have their vision. People now have too much of a means to complain in a way that will directly reach the people who make things. And given that not everyone wants things the same, the channeled hate, even before things come out, is ruining films and TV these days. The angry mob effect is fucking terrible. Enjoy shit, people. Enjoy things. Everything has redeeming qualities. The only complaint I had about 7-8-9 of Star Wars is that they didn't have a single person directing the story overall of the 3. If they had JJ doing all 3, it would have been a better narrative. But I think that with Filoni in charge, things are thriving.
The turrets in Fallout always have horrible aim. That turret missing every shot made me LOL and felt just like playing the game.
Reminded me of the turrets in Idiocracy.
Bro. No. 😂 I'm playing Very Hard and a turret just shot my arm off because I rounded a corner too fast while exploring 💀
gotta agree with the other guy, the turrets aim can be a laser at times, misses occasionally but I feel that's more down to your own positioning. Sometimes it'll not stop shooting once you've gone behind cover but if you ran across an open room after it has already started shooting then you're definitely getting hit
I cannot tell you how happy I am at how amazing this show is. From the visuals, to acting and writing, to music. My parents, my girlfriend and my friends who know nothing about Fallout are loving this. Man we needed a show like this
I wish i never played it too...only way anyone COULD enjoy it
@ 5:22 That scene where lucy is exploring the abandon house captures the feeling of us players when we are randomly exploring the wasteland with the radio in the background and the wind, wood, and metal providing that wasteland ambient background noise, Ha it felt nostalgic for some reason
Maximus played by Aaron Moten, reminds me of a young Denzel Washington. I'm wondering if that was one of his influences as becoming an actor
Kinda reminds me of Cuba goofing junior too. My brother said the lead bounty hunter that dug up the ghoul was bubba from Forest gump, not to sure on that one.
And it's annoying.
Im tired that look on his face. Everything is scary. It's annoying
I genuinely thought he was female when i 1st saw his face ... there are more Black American actors than Denzel and Morgan ffs
@@yasinradee they did the same to Boyegas character in the last star wars trilogy
When I saw that it was Michael Rapaport underneath that T-60 armor I realized why he was a dick 💀😂 that man’s acting is always spot on!
the puppies being thrown in the furnace has something to do with their weight i think he said "if they weigh less than 10 ounces then incinerate them" im not 100% sure though
That is, in fact, the reason, and there's a "blink-and-you'll-miss-it" line of dialog to that effect.
And if you watch, CX-404 was ever so slightly under 10oz and he rounded up. Probably why he kept her, too. He fell in love instantly.
There was a posted sign on the wall near the incinerator and scale for the dogs. It said something along the lines of 10 ounces or incinerate. Luckily, Wilzig noticed and kept her alive.
@@someonelikejaden The sign is quite prominent in the screenshot at 2:00
@@eboethrasher I started tearing up right then and was FULLY crying by the time she got her teddy bear friend. Glad she got that stimpak, idk how I would've recovered 🥲💕
13:38 -- I respectfully disagree with the suggestion that this is meant to hint at Maximus possibly being responsible for Dane's injury that essentially ended their career as a squire before it even really began.
Dane reportedly told the Cleric that Maximus "wouldn't hurt a fly." Technically speaking, here, Maximus *didn't* hurt Titus; he simply withheld aid from a fataly wounded soldier. (Albeit an absolute arrogant douchebag of a soldier, but the point stands.)
If you recall, Maximus was the first (and only) aspirant to jump into action when he awoke to Dane screaming in pain. This difference in approach to a fellow soldier in crisis lends itself to the idea that Maximus does not shy away from aiding someone he feels is *worthy* of help.
The reason Max was so angry that Dane got Anointed before him is because it's pretty obvious that Dane slacks off and skirts the rules, but is seemingly rewarded in spite of those facts. (Dane wasn't doing their job on latrine duty, and even conjoled Max into going with them into a restricted area, but didn't get disciplined for either infraction; they were *promoted*, instead.)
Meanwhile, Maximus gives it his all yet makes no headway. He's tired of being the scapegoat amongst his peer group, and justifiably so. Yet. . .he took his anger out on a literal barrel of shit rather than be anything less than supprtive of his friend's good fortune.
All that speaks to Max's character far more than the fleeting thought that because he let a repugnant excuse for a paladin expire (one who was threatening Max with the death penalty for simply "allowing" him to get injured by the local megafauna)
rather than saving him and sealing his own demise does.
I agree. He only did it after Titus threatened him about how he would be treated when they get back to the brotherhood
I really appreciate that the songs matched the scenes in the show. like having the songs in general is great but having them kind of match what's going on in the show fantastic.
The music is epic. Especially later in the season when we see the NCR flag unraveling. Gave me chills.
I loved that when the BoS sends orders from the Commonwealth to capture the remnant, they send a shitty knight from Boston 😂
makes sense knights from the capital wasteland or the west are probably more battle hardened seeing as Boston is a lot more lax
I'm so glad that I found your channel. I've been wanting to watch reviews from someone who has also actually played the games. I love all the references in the show. I'd love to see you post more reviews!
Great job with these breakdowns Lone! The show is amazing so far and I’m literally watching an episode and then your videos. Keep them coming!
Love you’re doing each episode! Havent watched this episode yet but i will return to this video once i do! Great stuff!
Loving the episode breakdowns and your enthusiasm for Fallout. The nostalgia is great in this series. Keep up the breakdowns.
Great episode, I really like the doctors loyal dog. One thing tho, fallout 4 had a pre war magazine called "Tesla science magazine" the cover has pre war t-60 power armour with rear mounted jet packs. I'm hoping, since Maximus said "New t-60's" that they explain that soon. Maybe the arm jets and flip up masks are the "New" stuff
I thought he fired twice into the creatures head
me too
I'm totally loving this show so far - and your breakdown!
Lucy's look is not romantic - it's a mixture of hope, relief and joy. Because she met someone who is friendly, knows about her and her people, and surely is valuable for achieving her goal.
Interesting to see the enclave is still around during this time.
Love these! Just subscribed and would love to see a breakdown for the remaining episodes!
Nice work. Keep up the break downs. They are excellent
It would be nice to see more of these, as you are going to have a LOT to talk about in the later episodes. Something I didn’t realize until much later is that each episode ends with a pretty amazing behind the credits animated sequence that hints at the next episode. Some great Easter eggs in those.
I really like the series and checking out your vids breaking down things to see if I missed something is just the cherry on top of the jello cake. Perfection. Hope we'll get the next Fallout game soon. :D
The bear getting killed with one shot to the head makes sense, a 44 Magnum or 50 AE would do the same, Max is using the heavy 10mm so longer canon and faster bullet speed, plus i imagine that those 10mm are stronger than ours, you kno9w future pistol and all that.
I just figured he had a critical banked
He huffed psycho jet off camera mate
@@lfcmike12 In the Camera he Shot but off Camera it was the Mysterious stanger's shot.
A "regular" two-headed bull..." oh yeah, regular two-headed ones are so common...
Another great episode!! I love these recap videos!!
Yes i'd love to see more episode breakdowns! TYVM!
Love it. I am vision impaired so your breakdowns help me get a better grasp of what is happening. Thanks keep it up
"Clean this". When Maximus gets the T-60's foot caught in between the board walk planks it was like getting your armor caught in-game. That's when you have to exit your power armor just to get un-stuck. If you play the game you know exactly what I'm talking about.😁😁
The stimpack is also a dose for an adult human (more HP) and a dog is just way smaller (less max HP), so it's a higher relative dose :)
very much enjoying these videos Lone
It's funny how people treat vault dwellers as noobs here. Word clearly hasn't travelled that 2 separate vault dwellers wrecked sht up single handedly on the east side.
The scene where the guy says “he was f***ing my chickens” killed me hahahaaha
How many times that guy shows up is killing me! 😂😂😂😂
@@bubblingbubztheklown5902 foot healing serum!! Cheap and real!
27:29 🎶 I don't want to set the world on fire, I just want to start a flame in your heart. 🎶
Keep doing the reviews, I enjoy your content
Maybe the stinpack that lucy used did not bring her back to 100% therefore the need for stiches, and in the case of the dog it did bring it back to full hp. Lycy stab injury seen quite more brutal than the one the dog got
The one shot to the head for the yao gui is because the knight had already beat the bear up for a while and it just needed the killshot
the box for the prosthetic says “Jims Limbs” lol
Ma June's rifle is a Ruger Mini-14 IRL
Great stuff bud! Love it!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Everything I see in this show that makes me excited, I equally think about how excited you will be about it. I'm so stoked to see the rest of this series now that I've finished the whole series. The show is so close to the games that I typed game rather than show at the beginning of this sentence. It feels THAT on point, that perfect in tone and everything to a Fallout game, and the fact that this is cementing canon for stuff is just chef's kiss.
I agree it was brutal. The puppies and the baby skeleton had my jaw dropped but I also got excited because I knew they were pulling no punches in this show. Can't wait to see more.
Feel like Maximus is a future villain.hes portrayed as a typical good guy but shows signs of being very greedy and power hungry. The ghoul I predict is more of a good guy who’s become a bit of an anti hero because of the wasteland.
I think the reason the dog heals instantly was the genetics and drugs they were taking at the enclave
Love these breakdowns and the show is perfect!
Love these breakdowns
I am surprised that you didn't talk about the end credit where the camera has that pull out of the Boston Airport in ruins...
The main weapon the Ghoul uses is a weapon mod called the MTs-255 revolver shotgun. Supposedly of Russian origin and hella OP.
According to Juicehead. The Ghoul's revolver is a MTs255. Russian made shotgun. Love your work and the show breakdowns.
Has anyone noticed that Lucy shares the same name from the daughter of the movie Die hard? If she doesn’t say hippy Kiaya we should riot.
Not spelled the same.
😂 it's yippy not hippy
Enjoying these. I really liked the 2nd ep. I am trying to pace myself.
I wasnt expecting Dogmeat lore. Loved it.
Goggins CARRIED this show. Along with some help from Lucy in later episodes. I absolutely HATE how Maximus entire storyline was written but I feel his acting was on par with the other two main characters. The ghoul (goggins character) should continue to lead the way as a north star for the story. The evolution you get to see him go through in the flashbacks is some of the best storytelling in the series so far.
I thought I was the only who thought there was something wrong with Maximus's storyline. It feels a bit off but I can't explain how but near the end it gets a bit better.
At 13:47 the boot incident is cleared up later in the season but i will respectfully not mention anything further at this time to follow the no spoilers guidelines for movies and tv shows that others have not seen yet.
My favorite song is from The Ink Spots I don't want to set the world on fire.
Keep going dude, I watched them all now and it gets even better. Will rematch too lol
My favorite scene in episode 2 was when Maximus tried on the T-60 suit and went ham on everything he could find. Find a house? Knock that sh*t down!! I thought that was a good representation of everyone’s feelings putting on the suit for the first time.
And then they turn this to complete shit with him flying around like a cartoon + something that is non coerant at all with the realm …
@@nadeaumic I agree with the part where he flies around dramatically in the air because of the malfunction which could’ve been done differently to appear less “cartoonish” and as far as the jet pack goes, I don’t mind it too much…
Yes, please continue this series I want to see what you have to say about all the episodes
Definitely a super mutant under the sheet, I felt like the whole squire holding the knights equipment is a slight nod to how you would just give all your companions all the extra stuff to carry just a thought. It’s also probably based of medieval squires and knights too but just something I thought about when watching.
Edit:I think it’s a ripper but just a medical one like a scientist would use because he is one the ones from the games are military/industrial rippers
Anyone catch the Wasteland Survival Guide in the shop? Cool to see direct actions you took in other games showing up here
Look at the different weights of the CX-404 and Lucy, that is why the Stempak healed CX-404 completely, and if you look at how the stimpak works in order to get more healing you need level in the Medic Perk (Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 4)
It may also be called filly, cause I believe this is the area filmed in my town in NJ. Which the closest city is philly
The pistol the ghoul uses is a MTs255 revolving shotgun that's been cut down to a pistol
Another great episode. I thought the same thing, it was a supermutant
I think they vendor is named June as her sign says, MA JUNES SUNDRIES. Also I think they are leading to that tech in Wilzig's neck to give the user psychic powers as the dogs in the Enclave base were responding to mental commands from the scientists while wearing some type of harness that reminded me of the Enclave tech they used in the games to control the Deathclaws. And later he knows her by name even though she never told him and I doubt he would have had knowledge that she was that exact person from Enclave records.
Love the show its so good and love your breakdowns thanks man
LOVING IT! JUST BINGED WATCH THR SERIES...AHH! I'LL BE BACK 4 MORE
The piece of armor Maxim is told to clean is the groin cover or the "cup" and the vendors gun is a mini 14 not a hunting rifle
Codpiece.
@UkrainianPaulie most likely dirty from urination.
10:13 Those were Sheepsquatch growls and not Yao Guai growls. Neat little reference there.
I'm very confused with people comparing philly to megaton. It looks way more similar to diamond city on the inside. Even down to the planks as walkways. Not to mention the neon signs and large metal chimneys.
Aside the small airplane part, I don't see much h similarity to megaton at all.
Life long Fallout fan here, played 1,2, and 3 when I was a kid. New vegas released when I was in college, spent hundreds of hours in fallout 4, and currently have over 3k hours in 76. I've enjoyed ALL of them, no matter their flaws, be it poor writing or a buggy mess. I focus on the good qualities.
I will never understand the obsession some fallout fans have with needing to put New Vegas on such a high pedestal, claiming Obsidian is the better developer than Bethesda, even though objectively they're no better or worse, they're both fairly surface level cliche writing styles. These new vegas fanatics will regurgitate the same lines to anyone with an ear, and refuse to listen to any other opinion.
But, with this tv show, I'm seeing a lot of mixed reviews. people claiming it's retconning lore from some of the games. These are most likely the same people who have a hard on for Obsidian and love to hate BGS, even though they've never played any fallout game other than NV, so they don't have a clue about Fallouts lore other than what they've been told by other NV fanatics regurgitating the same nonsense.
I’m a huge fallout fan. Have played every game multiple times as I’m sure we all have. fallout 4 is actually my 2nd favorite fallout game. I have played bgs’ other games as well and have loved most of them as well. I say all this to say, This show does retcon quite a bit of established lore for the west coast games.
Great points. Fandom is trippy. Star Wars Star Trek and Lord of the Rings. All have fandom " critical of cannon" etc etc. The passion they have for fiction is over the top. It almost feels like religious zealots shaming non-belivers. 😅
@@zzygyy as hardcore fans who consume every bit of certain franchises they definitely have the right to be critical of canon tho. it might make normies feel uncomfortable but that’s on them lol.
@itsreallyjk I personally have never cared if devs retcon canon, even of its my favorite games, if they want to retcon something to tell a new story, it's their prerogative. Retroactively changing the lore for a new product doesn't retroactively change the coding and writing of the previous game you own. It doesn't retroactively remove the memories and fun you had while playing it. Both can exist with different continuities. Same thing with Star Wars, and Star Trek, and Terminator, etc
@@eirikjormundgandrson that’s you and that’s fine. Others feel differently. You touched on Star Wars so I’ll speak on that rq. they completely removed an entire continuity just to make there own only to bite off alot from the old canon lmao. Back to fallout. While yes all my memories of enjoying each game will always be there by them changing canon whenever they see fit it removes the joy of learning about the world especially if they can just change things game to game. Doesn’t let the story feel as if it’s one big timeline.
Keep doing these videos, I’d like to see if your opinion of the show follows the same trajectory mine did lol.
Great, keep it up‼️
Filly, is the TV shows Megaton/Diamond City.
I'm so glad, the TV show is its own entity, dropping easter eggs as a tip of the hat to all the Fallout games.
Just finished the last episode today, and all I can say is, *WOW!!!*
That was his jock strap plate he asked to have cleaned. Hilarious
The shop owners rifle is a ruger mini 14. Semi auto rifle chambered in 5.56. Great all purpose weapon and would definitely be desirable in the wasteland. Happy to see it make an appearance in fallout.
Good eye brother but depending on the year of the rifle it could be stamped .223 but Lil known fact they were always chambered in .556 old man ruger didn't want his guns to be seen as military rifles same reason they only had 10 round mags untill his dearh
@@Dino2GunZ average boomer 😂
At 12:16 where Max is aiming, maybe he is using vats but that isn't shown as yet?
No word on the insane cameo for Titus?
Its the mini nuke gun.
The toss the dog gs for being too small and that’s why he keeps dog meat. Pretty big thing to miss
Lol certain things happened and i just thought 'my God they did that?!' like shooting his leg off
ok so this wasnt actually said but it was implied in episode one, one of the main reasons why the dog jumped up from 1 stimpack is because shes an f.e.v baby and thats what they had been injecting into the dogs in the enclave base which is why zig tried to protect her at all cost as a pup. she had been bred to be physically stronger than other dogs in the compound by zig.
As to the stimpack, let's say Lucy is 125 lbs, and dogmeat is 35 lbs.
Roughly 1/3 the weight receiving the same dosage.
🔫😄 "HI! HEY HELLO!! I just want to ask if I can post this comment here!"
Lucy pointing her gun at that man in the beginning was so funny lmao
The dog with the hand in its mouth is an homage to Kurosawa's "Yojimbo," when the masterless samurai first walks into the village he will eventually both destroy and save and has a dog like that trot across his path.
Good job! One piece of feedback for the future. There are a couple phrases you say every 15-20 seconds. like "Absolutely." You do a great job with these, just switch up your phrasing more, and you'll be golden!
Titus being a dick is irrelevant. Maximus swore an oath. I served in the US Army for 24 years. When your a Private, everyone treats you like crap. Because you don't know shit. That's why its called Basic Training.
I agree but also when you’re in the battfield on the front lines.
Yet the problem here is that Titus is a Pussy and was going to send Max to a Radioactive area and Titus has the Suit, he can resist Rads, so and Titus wasn't even guarding or doing anything useful other than being an asshole, in a Dangerous situation, altough i don't know why he died, i never saw the bear piercing his armor.
Yeah, definitely a failure of Maximus’ character…he’s probably the weakest character at the beginning, has to get the snot kicked out of him and do a whole growth arc
Nope f the USA army and Titus do better stop making the military worse
The Brotherhood has different oaths and standards, though. Titus was being a little POS about everything. And he had run in the face of danger. Maximus came out, no power armor, and shot the Yao-Guai. Maximus made the right choice. Titus was also threatening him when he had JUST SAVED HIM. He hadn't even said thank you.
Thats a lever action shotgun the Ghoul has besides that other high powered weapon, I'm assuming another shotgun. Sticking with similar types of weapons would be the way to go so you can carry around the same ammo and not different types. I like the pre-war stuff they show us. As a history buff I like history even if its fictional
The only problem i had with it so far is (spoiler alert) . In the beginning you see them learning to shoot and fight mma style etc etc. Why did they make it look so easy for the raiders to take over? Its like, did they forget how to defend themselves? Or fight?
Cause they learned defense in a controlled enviorment and never had someone actually attack them its different when your training vs going against someone with murderous intent they clearly werent ready
@@wangchung2157 is that why Lucy still kicked butt 😂
@@Macheako She ended up with a bunch of head trauma and a stab wound in her first real fight.
I think she has a lot more natural fight in her fight, flight or freeze response. She loves her vault and her life and it was very much destroyed on her wedding day. And she’s naturally protective as wll. I think she just took her training way more seriously than others.
The same goes for her pregnant friend. Pregnant woman IRL have picked up cars to save their other children; the pregnant woman’s husband was killed and she immediately fought far harder than others.
Most of the other survivors don’t want to leave the vault to save one of their own or even talk about how they probably won’t make it much longer with such fewer people, ya know? They have a lot of freeze on their protective reactions (I’ve got a lot of freeze on my survival reaction too)
@wangchung2157 true
I think it's a revolver with the legendary explosive effect and the ghoul has the bloody mess perk
I actually wondered if when she said ‘your kind’ if she meant ghouls or bounty hunters.
Ghoul is the obvious first thought, but she specifically didn’t want a bounty Hunter coming for the doctor.
