If I saw a deathclaw I'd accept my fate and I'd be like you know what guys I think we're going to see Jesus today. I don't have enough cardio in me to outrun this
I think you should rephrase the word racist from the enclave because they are anti-mutant not racists. They don't hate people of color.,they hate mutants.
To add here, Vault Tech has always been the main villain. In the games they really revealed that in crumbs. Heck, in fallout 3 the undetonated atom bomb in Megaton actually had a vault tech logo on it, and that bomb is right outside DC. This show is actually feeling like a culmination of all the games. We never really got to face down vault tech themselves, just the Enclave.
Yeah that's kind of how I feel. I think its bold, yeah they could have just made an inconsequential story thats just set in the FO world but I think because a series doesn't have to worry about being determinant like the games do, that it's a potentially great opportunity for some major things to go down and I think having the remnants of Vault Tec be the central villain is a fitting full circle for FO since the franchises' very aesthetic has been dripping with their influence since the beginning. We've been blaming the US government, and the Chinese in that order...but all along it was a conglomerate of damn corporations that was responsible and I think that fits FO
I mean Enclave just the remnants of the old goverment and army while corporations like Vault-Tec very often prefer to act themselves than listen to the Enclave so for me they more evil than even Enclave from second game.. at least in second game they believed that they helping to rebuild human race and really wanted to rebuild their country while Vault-Tec... well its Vault-Tec
I'd argue it's the enclave, which is controlling vault-tec, that has always been the main villain. Weren't they the ones to initiate the human experiments in vaults in the first place? I assume in the boardroom scene it's enclave members who are behind the frosted glass. Hopefully we might see enclave in season 2, or i could be wrong on the direction their going
Or both! I think Cooper has a tragic backstory. I’m pretty sure he divorced his wife (which is why he’s at the birthday party with his daughter in the beginning)
I like how they weren't 'ashamed' to be based on a game. In some/most movie and series based on games i can never shake the feeling the writers are ashamed to be working on a video game IP. None of that was present in amazons' fallout.😊
I'll bet part of that is because of the depth of the lore and writing in the games themselves. You've got a lotttt to work with. And as Todd Howard has said, things just came together at the right time for this to happen. Wasn't forced or anything, you get the impression that people who worked on it did it for the labor of love, at least it really comes across that way. Amazon MGM, and Nolan & Co really showed up for this.
@@hyperkaioken4982yes. But the twist at the end and the moral complexities which it presents are far and away better than that of fallout 3 or 4. It much more closely resembles New Vegas. Which is where they are headed so I suspect the show is going to get mad complex.
@@chrisjackson3759 I dunno man which one would you say is more important. Access to clean drinking water or electricity? I know which I'd rather have 😅 Its literally just here's an unlimited electricity source wupdeedoo.. off we go to new Vegas. I just hope they don't butcher New Vegas. Lord knows Bethesda have a raging boner for the brotherhood.
@@hyperkaioken4982 but Maximus has a ton of influence over what happens with this energy source. He’s basically undercover for the NCR. Moldavers last words to him will influence where his character and that story line goes
As much as I would like that it's in a completely different state. The vault is 108 which was from Fallout 3 in the Capital Wasteland, in Washington DC. This show is based in California but who knows maybe they'll visit the Capital Wasteland.
It feels like getting a new fallout game. It genuinely scratches that itch that ive had for a while because it isnt simply an adaptation, it nearly completely seamlessly feels like it could be a new addition to the games without taking anything away from them only adding to.
And they’ve said it’s canon, it’s likely we’ll see some of these characters or references to them in the next Fallout game, this show takes place a decade after Fallout 4
It was great! It sucks they didn't space the episodes out a little more. I would have done weekly videos for the episodes otherwise. There were many references and easter eggs throughout.
It LOOKS like VT dropped the first bomb but there is a large time span between the VT meeting with Copper's wife and when the nukes fall. Why is she not in a vault when it starts? The Vaults were to serve a good purpose under Project Safehouse, then the Enclave changed all that. Enclave are responsible for the vault experiments, not VT. The pip boy everyone wears tells the Enclave your health and your exact location at all times. The pip boy is manufactured by Rob-Co not VT so the Megaton bomb with the VT logo means nothing. The man sitting in the shadows at the meeting isn't VT president, he is Enclave and where is Copper's wife the "good vault"? That is the Enclave.
As a huge fallout fan i did feel they did the world justice im excited for season 2 and i feel like if anything the main flaws of this show is just that 8 episode wasnt enough for season 1. Even a single extra episode would have benefited it ,anf given some breathing room. Im most excited about seeing lucys journey continues, and seeing how the team up between her ,and Cooper will go. I was disappointed we didnt get a death claw ,but we got the skull of the one so theyre pretty much promising its coming.
There were references to Deathclaws and 2 times about Super Mutants. So they will probably show up on a next season as well. Which is cool tbh. If the plan was not to make just one single season and keep the show going it´s great they save some of the big stars of the franchise to keep surprising and making a rich story instead of surrendering quality to fanservice.
@Pixelkip He's very similar to Finn in more regards than just race lol. He works for the big militaristic faction with a dubious moral code, just like Finn with the stormtroopers. And they both rebel against the faction they're with to help the lone girl on a mission to do good.
Vault 33 still doesn’t have a functional water chip as well. Moving into the next season i think that will be a driving motivator for a different vault dweller to leave vault 33.
32 I assume did have one, and imagine 31 has spares if they really wanted to last hundreds of years and repopulate earth. You'd hope they could "manage" something as simple as spare parts for the parts that makes clean water.
@@HijoDelHongo ikr? When I saw his face I felt like this would've made hard watching the whole series if he was a main character. Very glad he lasted 2 mins... Or less.
@@VeeCyberpunk For now, we still don't have the confirmation that Vault-Tec did actually drop the first bomb. We only know that Hank did hit the Shady Sands' apocalypse button. We might need to wait until Season 2 when The Ghoul would possibly confront his wife.
There were some data-logs in either fallout 4 or fallout 76 that pointed the finger at Vault-Tech being the real ones behind the bombs (I remember running across them while playing one of the games). So I wasn't surprised when the show revealed it, but was happy for the confirmation.
season 2 is confirmed. They actually are working on season 2. Because there is news about Amazon getting 25 million usd tax credits from California to film season 2 in California. Season 1 was filmed mainly in New York...
@@emergencyawesomeAmazon has been pretty automatic on approving second seasons for these properties they've gotten their hands on, so it's not surprising
@@TheGoIsWin21 Kind of a smart move IMO, because otherwise you end up with unrealized hits like Firefly getting the axe early. Give the show enough time to find its feet, and if it continues to stumble after a second season then kill it. Though with Fallout being what it is, I'd say its already greenlit for a few more seasons beyond 2.
Yeah when you've got the financing that Amazon has, I think it just makes more sense to give shows time to grow. Being able to respond and react to viewer reactions is probably a big deal. I haven't seen it but I understand Halo made a pretty hard pivot after getting roasted nonstop for season 1, which is something that people cutting checks probably pay attention to.
The best part about this series is they haven't even introduced the Super Mutants or Death Claw yet. I hope for the Death Claw episode, is a 2 part stand-alone episode that feels like an Alien movie. But this series is very Okie-Dokie and I can't wait for season 2.
Just head Canon but makes sense, the shady figure could be the president or a high ranking leader in the Enclave. Back then the enclave also had a secret deal with vault tec and were monitoring the vaults from the oil rig base in fallout 2 (if memory serves, they mightve touches on it in 3/broken steel) so the fact they mentioned the enclave, they could be involved, I'm stoked to see where it goes!
Cold Fusion was explicitly a Vault-Tek possession, yet at the start it comes from an Enclave facility. This implies that Vault-Tek and the Enclave are one and the same.
I’m not a gamer but I absolutely enjoyed this series as a science fiction show. Great unique creative universe, great action and story, and sweet relationship that developed between Lucy and Max.
The best way to watch this show it by not being a fan of the game. They reveled its canon but its full of inconsistences, retcons, errors and goofs. Mainly timeline and location based, which is the most important feature for fans.
Even watching it as a show, it’s 50/50, god the characters suck so hard with barely any development except Maximus, the action, the cinematography, acting, props and costumes, all of that is amazing
@@colonel1003 idk, i loved how clueless Lucy was throughout the entire show about how the wasteland works. If you ask me, she also evolved as a character, but not by becoming ruthless or evil, but by being less naive and more tough.
@@jerkopatrik the actor got the confused and naive down and I like that Lucy isn’t written like a lens scope for newcomers, but other than looking for her dad, she no distinct personality traits that makes her feel like her own character instead of just being a vault dweller
@@colonel1003I have no idea what you where expecting Lucy to be. She’s a vault dweller after all they all have some sense of nativity ingrained in to them. But Lucy absolutely stood out from the other dwellers. She’s brave, smart and no afraid to get her hands dirty. The thing you’ve got to remember is her development is already underway, they are saving more of it for season 2 clearly. I thought she’s a pretty well done especially considering it’s season 1.
They also threw a "make america great" in that meeting too😂😂😂 Anybody else laugh at the 76 jab? When Lucy says that she missed reclamation day, and dude was like "dont feel bad, it wasnt successful or something like that.😂😂😂
Season 2 checklist: -Death Claw -Super mutant (a giant one could be nice) -Aliens -Enclave power armors (because they look very cool) -Glowing ones -etc... There is so much fun stuff still available, I hope they keep the references going and the blood flowing.
**Season 2 has been officially confirmed** I'd like more backstory in season 2. I've never played the video games, and as this is an original story based on the games, they could go all out with the backstory, like where was Cooper going up the mountain path when the first bombs dropped. Just to add I'm a 55 year old UK housewife, and I absolutely loved this series, one of the best series I've seen in a while.
you need to. Start with 3, 4, and NV. more user friendly. 1 and 2 will just put you off since they are turn based and modern pcs act like they cant handle the game anymore
Just finished watching, I’ve never played the game, but this show was so good it didn’t matter. I was super impressed with everything this show put forward. 9/10 for sure! Thank you for covering this Charlie!
Deathclaws were first seen in Fallout 2, and also appear in New Vegas, which all came before Fallout 4. Also this TV series takes place after ALL the events in all the games, so the second season can't follow the same plot as New Vegas, but it should show what happened in the game.
Fallout 1 had the first deathclaw. It was the mother deathclaw in the boneyard. Had to fight the offspring and then the mother. That fight back in 1997 is burned in my memory
@@drewsprague88 You're are correct, but Charlie said the Deathclaws first appeared in Fallout 4 which isn't true. The first time I ever encountered them was in New Vegas.
Thing is P.A.M from Fallout 4 had already hinted at the US was the 1st to strike….. and she “Maybe” pulled the trigger. So it being Vault-Tech is no surprise.
Hey, Charlie. Long time. I've intermittently followed you for at least 10 years. This is my first time here in maybe 4 years. Glad to see you're still doing it. Always positive vibes. Fallout seems awesome. I think I'll watch. Keep trucking brother!
Funny Enough, I had the chance to Cook for Todd Howard today, and Remarked to him How much I loved the Show. He was super kind, a big fan himself of the show. I didn't ask any questions or pry. I did get an Autograph. "I cooked his brunch so haha" But he's a normal at my Work so hopefully ill get another chance to chat with him with more details.
The best video games to adapt are these rich, open world games where storytellers have so much material to use. I can't stop thinking about the potential for Elder Scrolls
What a great job. They managed to completely adapt a game to a streaming series, but still didn't directly adapt the main storyline. It really is an impressive feat that shows extremely close attention to the world and lore. Respecting that source material, the writers and showrunners made something that couldn't feel any more Fall Out than this does. I can't wait for season 2, but I just hope they have a clear idea of where the story is going and where it will end along with retaining the same staff that brought this season to life.
Is the Vault Tec CEO an early generation Synth? Also, when I learned Maximus was sort of an Idiot-Savant Endurance/Luck build character, and all the characters reflected game builds, I enjoyed the series even more.
10:11 I don't think the bombs were dropped to increase the stock value, I think the THREAT of bombs is what would drive up the value of the vaults. They need people to buy the vaults BEFORE the bombs drop, not after or during a nuclear war. Like when they mention the peace talks aren't good for business.
We don't know how (if) Cooper got separated from his daughter, we only know they were actually together when the bombs went off. Still, he seems convinced that his family is alive? So either the daughter was taken from him after the detonations, which seems unlikely, or, as I saw someone suggest Moldaver might be a clone, perhaps the daughter might have been cloned as well? I haven't played any of the games, so not sure what the lore allows. I find it a bit intriguing also that Cooper asks where his "family" is, rather than where his daughter is, as it seems weird to reference your ex-wife as "family", especially as we can assume the separation wasn't on the best of terms. Granted he might want to exact revenge on his ex-wife, but still, could also be a reference to him knowing it's not just one daughter/clone, or some other hint. I might also simply be looking for westworld hints in a show that isn't westworld.. but looking forward to the next season in any case!
The bomb dropped on Shady Sands was only recent after lucy's mother left the vault. The 200 years thing was the initial drop. The sands bomb was only 20 or so years before the setting. Just showing Vault-Tec is still the big bad. either that or I may have missed something in the story telling.
You missed the dates. Fallout New Vegas takes place in 2281. Shady Sands is the birth place of the NCR, one major faction from the game. In the show, the NCR pretty much dissolved with the destruction of Shady Sands and the bomb fell into the town in 2277, according to the show. Do the math. Show was horrible with dates and retconned a lot of established lore. Big disappointment.
@@abnnizzy i was sticking strictly to the TV series in response to the "Moldaver must have been frozen too" part. They screwed the pooch on the timeline i agree, but i still think the show held up well. Also the NCR has multiple strongholds so they're not as dissolved as you seem to think.
@@Emanresurm multiple stronghold, all of them receiving funds from California. Without shady sands, their Capital, what's left for them? The NCR expanded to the Mojave for God sake, imagine how populated California was? But in the show they walk into a barren wasteland and never bump into a single NCR, that isn't right. If they don't have a presence in their own capital and shady sands was really destroyed in 2277, the NCR shouldn't even be in New Vegas in the first place. Everytime the NCR was mentioned was in the past tense.
@@Emanresurm Charlie is right on that. She must have been frozen, or she's a VERY good looking pre-war ghoul. Howard met her before the bombs, remember?
Considering the first battle of hoover dam was in 2277 and the new vegas game happens in 2281 I honestly do think the fall of shady sands suggests its the corruption mentioned in the new vegas game before the nuke happened a few years later (between 81-83).
That's my take too, the bomb fell after 2281 some time, but the NCR was definitely a mess already by the time of New Vegas, it takes a crazy Courier fighting across the mojave and uniting potential allies to give the NCR a chance, meanwhile the Legion was also on borrowed time with their charismatic leader about to die from a brain tumor, without Caeser the Legion is doomed, parts of the NCR may yet Live just not in tge areas we've seen so far
So in the games there really wasnt any explicit evidence of anyone knowing who dropped the bombs first, this and the fact that Bethesda have confirmed it that the show is cannon means that vault tech in the show and the games as well did trigger the chain reaction of all the bombs dropping by dropping the first one(s)
14:40 Deathclaws are in the every Fallout, not just Fallout 4. Also, the Deathclaws were created by the U.S. military, the Enclave just furthered the research and enhanced them as you find in Fallout 2.
My theory is that Mr. House will be a big villain in season 2. Walton Goggins' character has a speach about war never changing, in which he says something along the lines that even though it seems like chaos, there's always "someone behind the wheel", and that that person is probably who Lucy's father is on his way to meet after fleeing the observatory at the end of season one, after which he is seen overlooking New Vegas. Although Mr. House in the series cameo seems like an inconsequential character, we know from the New Vegas video game that he was someone who was quietly hedging his bets from the shadows to outplay everyone and come out on top at the end. So essentially my theory is that even though the series implies that the vault-tec ceo is pulling the strings, in reality Mr. House ends up beating him at his own game and is the true puppet master
This was a great rundown! I just finished binging the last half of the season and I am so impressed by what they did. I really hope this show gets lots of seasons and we don't have to wait forever for them. I loved how unique the 3 POV characters are even within their archetypes. I absolutely adored this show.
Is it me or did anyone else notice a woman with a blue coloured light coming from her eyes? She didn't talk and was quickly moved off screen but I have a feeling she might have been a synth... I've also seen some people air their suspicions that dogmeat is a synth given his enclave name
I believe there was more than one person with blue glowing eyes, but perhaps it was the same lady. I'm assuming it's cybernetics of some kind, since no one seems to care or acknowledge it.
Erm, if it’s the lady from Vault 4 it seems to be implied she’s more than likely a fellow descendant of a “Test Subject” All things considered however it could be very likely we saw a Synth and we didn’t know it😅
My problem with the initial blast is that the shockwave that shattered the glass windows would have A. Shredded all the people inside B. The heat from said shockwave would have vaporized everyone. Including the horse he rode in on. Other than that this series is 97.5% faithful. I loved even the Radio Freedom music ( stay safe out there) and the Vault Tec back story is on point. I want to see Kellogg in a cameo bump into Ghoul Howard.
Fiduciary Responsibility is the reason that Boeing is having so much trouble right now. The executives have a legal responsibility to make money for the investors. If they can spend money to make the planes safer (more inspections, more maintenance) but it doesn't result in higher profits, they are legally not allowed to do it without approval from the investors. Pretty messed up.
Fiduciary Responsibility means they have to act in the best interest of the shareholders, yes, but there are no criminal or civic law related ramifications. It just leaves the executive in question open to firing. They lose their place on the board and/or their job at the company. No one is getting fined or put in prison for losing money at IBM, Google or whomever. Investors and shareholders have zero power in the day to day running of any company. Ironically, your understanding of fiduciary responsibility lines up with the execs at Boeing. That understanding being, of course, incredibly short sighted and foolish. Who makes more money over the long term? The company who makes an expensive, but safe and reliable plane or the company whose less expensive planes have potentially fatal issues regularly? I think you know the answer. Yours, EA's and the writers of Fallout understanding of the term, and capitalism in general, is poor. The problem isn't the free exchange of goods and services, but corruption, greed and shortsightedness.
Nulli_Di Quite the opposite actually. Major corporations love regulation. It prevents competition. Regulation hurts the upstarts, the mom and pop shops more than it hurts the big ones. Who do you think writes the legislation? It certainly isn't lawmakers. Who benefits from a higher minimum wage? It isn't the worker whose hours were cut. It isn't the worker whose job was eliminated. I worked at Starbucks when they made their minimum wage $15. I made more money when my wage was $12/hr than when it was $15/hr. Why? Because they cut our labor hours. I went from 30+ hours to 20. edit: I forgot to add, if what you're saying is true then why would regulators go work for the companies they were regulating once they leave government? It isn't too little regulation.
It was Boeing merging with MD that caused all the problems. It went from fix issues at any cost to just basically ignore quality control to save time and money
I hope they don’t reveal vault tecs leader. I want it to remain a mystery and as much as I love Lucy I don’t want her to be the one who basically stops the whole apocalypse scene.
Look, I don't know what it means, I don't know where the show goes, I don't care. From someone who is a diehard fan of Fallout since Fallout 1, played all the games (all of them) and mods, everything. THIS SHOW IS FRAKIN AMAZING. My expectation were so low, so the surprise really hit me. It was bloody amazing. They had a serious slip with the Shady Sands destruction, contradiction with New Vegas (and a big one) but can be easily fixed just moving New Vegas 10 years or so in to the past. Despite that, the show is god damn amazing. A love letter to anyone who dares to call him or herseld a Fallout fan.
They still haven't confirmed who dropped the first bomb. In game and in show evidence point to it not being vault tech, as even they weren't ready for the bombs to be dropped. The show has do far only shown us that they had the motive and the willingness to do so.
I wonder if the "time as a weapon" concept might also be a nod to Oppenheimer's quote from the Bhagavad-Gita regarding the invention of nuclear weapons.
@@joebonaparte1490 dont remember exact episodes. Wilzig was working on one in enclave facility in his lab. It was covered in white cloth presume dead, but its arm was hanging off the gurney. There's a wanted poster of one next to maldover when Howard was arrested stitching back his finger There are some more but don't remember on top of my head right now
@@joebonaparte1490 when they said about doing experiments on people in one of the vaults. can't remember which vault it was, but that's how the super mutants where done i believe. I may be wrong
The only problem I have with this show is that in the first 2 episodes, everything was handed to one character, Maximus. Dane gets injured, he gets promoted. Titus gets into a fight with a yao guai and dies later, then Maximus gets his T-60. Overall the show is awesome. I just hope they don't do anymore of that next season.
I might also add, You need training before you can actually use a T-60 or any kind of power armor. I know. I know he is a squire so he should have some basic knowledge, but do you really think an expendable be given FULL knowledge about a Power armor? I don't think so.
Yes Maximus is the worst character. I wish they incorporated power armor training as a requirement. Fallout 4 you were able to wear the armor since the character was in the military.
Wonder what factions are gonna be in season 2 and if Mr house is gonna be in it because the show takes place after new Vegas so we’re gonna get to see what events from new Vegas are canon.
Yeah this will Make or break it for me sadly. I enjoyed s1 but if they ruin new Vegas continuity I’d be pretty upset. That’s the best game in the franchise
That ending. Makes me wonder if there's something to the rumours that emerged a few years ago about a new vegas 2. Could just be a coincidence but just seems like a specific place for them to go to. One that they know would get attention and has meaning to fans. One they probably shouldn't tamper with. But also presents a unique opportunity that few other films or TV series based on games have. To Do a direct cross over. Tell a story in the same universe at the same time through two different mediums. Imagine nv2 comes out you see some of TV show play out in your game and some of your game play out in the TV show. They'd be something else.
@@vincentramos8141 They already did ruin New Vegas continuity lol According to the show, Shady Sands was destroyed in 2277. The town is the birth place of the NCR, its where they get their funding, recruits, supplies, etc. The series show that the NCR was dissolved, since The Boneyard and the whole of California is fucking empty, there is 0 NCR presence and the asshole chapter of the BoS is ruling. BUT that can't be the case since New Vegas takes place in 2281 and Shady Sands was still intact by then. Do the math. Judging by how empty New Vegas was in that teaser, they probably retconned every settlement and faction present in the game.
Few inconsistencies in this show. As follows: 1. In Ep 1, when the raiders came to the wedding ceremony, how come no one's geiger counter pipboy go off? Since Lucy's pipboy managed to detect Monty's radiation. 2. In Ep 2, pwr armor, strong enough to bring down concrete walls, but couldn't beat Yao Guai? The scientist, Wilzig should hv died from the sentry gun fire. Besides, it is too convenient that Lucy came across the scientist in Filly, in the entire wasteland. During the fight between Ghoul & Maximus, ghoul should be able to kill Maximus since it is mentioned in Ep 8 that Ghoul knows the weak spot in the PA. 3. In Ep 4, Mr Handy attached a new finger for Lucy, but later it wants to kill her for her organs?? 4. In Ep 5, Lucy conveniently came across Maximus, who is stuck in PA. This doesn't make sense since Lucy is tracking Wilzig's head(carried by Thaddeus) via gps. Thaddeus walked away in a different direction, so Lucy shouldn't hv met Maximus there, unless Thaddeus stayed there with Maximus. 5. In Ep 6, in vault 4 generator room the most vital part of a vault. It was left unguarded even after Maximus was caught sneaking there? No security?? 6. In Ep 7, Max & Lucy managed to catch up with Thaddeus, who is actually few days ahead of them?? 7. In Ep 8, Moldaver is shown to know Rose & Lucy. She is kind to them. Somehow, in Ep 1, she attacked v33, let the raiders harm Lucy? Besides, why didn't she kidnap both Hank & Lucy, as she can used Lucy as leverage. Also, didn't PA supposed to have built-in flashlight?
New Vegas was my favorite Fallout game and I know people didn’t like it, but watching the ending of this show made me miss all the good times! I’m ready to see some death claw actions and hopefully they’ll mention some dlc like dead money or old world blues leading to the show bc NewVegas is so big with so much stories to tell and finishing the show with the ending leading to New Vegas got me so hype for season 2
Good video on a good show! I do believe that when Coop's wife is talking about one of the "good" vaults, she's referring to one that doesn't experiment on the tenants...
Anyone else so sad about Michael Emerson's character? Would have LOVED if he was there for the duration! Overall, it's great, though, for immersion, realism, that we can't expect our fav characters to come out unscathed!
I'm going to go back and watch the series again, but i swear cooper asked where his wife was, not his family. His daughter being with him when the bombs fell, i would think she's either dead..... or also a ghoul?!? Maybe being held by one of the evil corporations. I'm also willing to place my bets on Cooper's ex-wife being in vault 31, where Norman will encounter her first. Thanks for enduring my imagination 😊
Looks like the cannon ending is now the Mr. House ending, in Fallout New Vegas. Kind of cringe if you ask me. I always considered the Yes Man/Independent New Vegas ending should have been the cannon ending for the game. But looks like the TV show dictates what cannon endings we get in the games. There is also a gigantic continuity error in the show with the fall of shady sands and it's destruction happening right before the events of Fallout New Vegas, which breaks the games lore because its main story revolves around the conflict between the NCR and Caeser's Legion and there are many dialogue references to Shady Sands still being around during the games timeline. It all doesn't add up.
Also story set up on 2 canonically ending to Fallout 4. Either Brotherhood victory or Minuteman ending without them destroying brotherhood, either option would've had them destroy the institute. Always a chance Synth could be about but in small numbers only.
TBH the idea of Vault-Tec dropping the initial nukes and kickstarting the retaliatory launches and consequent Mutually Assured Destruction does conflict with what the original Fallout co-creator said (Tim Cain confirmed that the Chinese dropped the nukes as retaliation for the US developing the FEV in their original idea), but oddly enough it does make more sense....China knew the Americans would retaliate within minutes to the initial launches, so a sudden strike on their part would seem quite unreasonable The only issue now would be the Enclave....in game lore, Vault experiments were sponsored by the Enclave that wanted some case studies for every possibility that could happen on a multi-generation starship (be it exposure to radiation, limited amount of resources, overcrowding, cryostasis etc.), except the ships were never made in time, so in Season 2 either the Enclave involvement in Project Safehouse will be greatly marginalized if not removed, or we'll be told that everyone in the Enclave was interested in the case studies of the Vaults for repopulating the surface and the starships were just a potential development that was never further explored
Charlie didn’t lie at all when he said the Warhammer 40K series Team and Henry Cavil is now on notice with a game to live action adaptation and better bring it. I completely agree.
I mean lie... he did, kind of. But I think it's because Charlie isn't a full blown video game nerd and he gets most of his information online. Warhammer 40k began in 1987, it was many years before they got a video game. The show IS NOT a video game adaptation. I barely know anyone that thinks "video game" when talking about 40k
I wasn't really sure if I was on board with some of the retcons like Vault Tec being responsible for the first bombing, Shady Sands being blown up and the NCR scattered etc but by the end I'm pretty on board. Vault Tec has always been the sort of looming evil that permeates everything and yet hasn't been the center of attention in many of the games so I think them getting their due for the series is great. I think it also perfectly fits Fallout's brand of satire that the thing that not only caused the end of the world, but also does its part to keep it from progressing too far past post apocalyptic wasteland even after 200 years wasn't governments, but corporations and good old fashioned capitalism run amok. Because the series doesn't have to worry about being determinant like the games, I think it's a great opportunity for them to have some major things go down in this series.
The final shot being New Vegas was brilliant. Couldn't have ended on a better note imo. Love the series, especially Goggins' portrayal of the ghoul. Cheers all!
They better not fuck with New Vegas cannon. But it is interesting they were vault 31 32 and 33 and in Vegas the vault 34 is a converted hotel by believe Mr. Houses orders. Am curious which New Vegas ending they choose but with how Vault tech is the villain my guess is “The house always wins”
Moldaver could be a clone-child, since she was known as Williams before the bombs dropped, and it opens up the option for her to appear in future seasons

Walton goggins as the ghoul was my favorite character
He was amazing!
He was perfect for it, from the voice to his teeth, he was great
He always kills it
I know I wish I had a clean southern accent like his.
I was about to say the exact same thing. Walton is a class actor and absolutely killed it as The Ghoul, by far my favourite character.
The Megaton bomb doesn't have a Vault Tec logo on it, it's similar but it's not Vault Tec
Yea they never ever confirmed it, only hinted towards it but we all knew 😂
In the Fallout Universe you either have a tragic backstory...or you're an environmental storytelling skeleton 💀
yep, pretty much!

Nah they embraced it.
Off the charts well written, produced, and acted. Never had a clue where each episode was going to go, which is so rare..

It feels like getting a new fallout game. It genuinely scratches that itch that ive had for a while because it isnt simply an adaptation, it nearly completely seamlessly feels like it could be a new addition to the games without taking anything away from them only adding to.
Fallout X: Okey-Dokey

You guys noticed that Lucy is always either alone or with one companion throughout the series. Just like you would be if you would play the game.

I so want Ron Perlmam to be in charge "because war , war never changes"

Awesome! That's the best they can hope for. That the people who already are fans of the games really like it.
I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favourite comment on the video.
Matt Berry part is top top notch and under used. Please more of him in the future.
Very glad that Amazon put out this instructional series ahead of WW3.

Erm, if it’s the lady from Vault 4 it seems to be implied she’s more than likely a fellow descendant of a “Test Subject”
All things considered however it could be very likely we saw a Synth and we didn’t know it😅
Such a fucking good show. Im sure like everyone else time to reinstall and play some fallout.
Yep! They said sales of the Fallout Games spiked big time last week after the show was released!
Just got FO3 reinstalled and loving it!
Fuck yes. Modded new vegas incoming. I just dont know where to lead the story this time
installing fallout 4 right now and grab some mods
Man, I even installed Fallout 76, have to try it out yet.
Aaaaand people will die because of it, as well as technological advancement being slowed.
@Nulli_Di You should spend a bit more time looking up how bills get written. Ignorance isn't bliss, mate.
It was Boeing merging with MD that caused all the problems. It went from fix issues at any cost to just basically ignore quality control to save time and money
Loved this series, they captured the fallout spirit very well
I hope they don’t reveal vault tecs leader.
Ella Purnell is going have a great year she was in fallout now arcane season 2 as jinx can't wait
She was fantastic in Yellowjackets, too.
@@RobTucker83She deserved more love in yellowjackets
Hot also
She also did a cameo on one of the newer season 2 Invincible episodes.
When will Arcane season 2 release? I wasn't aware it was going to be this year
Never played the game but enjoyed the show a lot. Walton Goggins is great
The thumbs up thing was real training in the US Army. I had that training in 1991.
Wimbledon (based on Pong) is my favorite video game adaptation.
OOOOoohhh!!! I missed that! I thought for sure it was a deathclaw in that cave! Kept hoping for one to popup
They still haven't confirmed who dropped the first bomb. In game and in show evidence point to it not being vault tech, as even they weren't ready for the bombs to be dropped. The show has do far only shown us that they had the motive and the willingness to do so.
I went in cautiously and was honestly hooked after the intro scene. Loved it
I wonder if the "time as a weapon" concept might also be a nod to Oppenheimer's quote from the Bhagavad-Gita regarding the invention of nuclear weapons.
They teased super mutants several times in the season.
I looked but I couldn’t find where they teased it Let me know what episodes. I really hope they do this rigjt
@@joebonaparte1490 dont remember exact episodes.
Wilzig was working on one in enclave facility in his lab. It was covered in white cloth presume dead, but its arm was hanging off the gurney.
There's a wanted poster of one next to maldover when Howard was arrested stitching back his finger
There are some more but don't remember on top of my head right now
Also guy from west tek mentioned an idea in the brainstorming meeting for what to do with vaults
@@joebonaparte1490 when they said about doing experiments on people in one of the vaults. can't remember which vault it was, but that's how the super mutants where done i believe. I may be wrong
@@darthdodgeur right I don’t know how I didn’t get that wow
I think that will be the case.
Yeah this will
Make or break it for me sadly. I enjoyed s1 but if they ruin new Vegas continuity I’d be pretty upset. That’s the best game in the franchise
@@vincentramos8141 I got so excited when I saw new Vegas and Mr house
That ending. Makes me wonder if there's something to the rumours that emerged a few years ago about a new vegas 2.
Could just be a coincidence but just seems like a specific place for them to go to. One that they know would get attention and has meaning to fans. One they probably shouldn't tamper with.
But also presents a unique opportunity that few other films or TV series based on games have. To Do a direct cross over. Tell a story in the same universe at the same time through two different mediums. Imagine nv2 comes out you see some of TV show play out in your game and some of your game play out in the TV show. They'd be something else.
@@vincentramos8141 They already did ruin New Vegas continuity lol
According to the show, Shady Sands was destroyed in 2277.
As follows:
I was expecting a deathclaw during the final episode. Hoping to see it season 2
I don't think they would show the skull if they didn't intend on doing them in season 2!
I'm hoping they treat it like a horror movie and only show parts of the death claw so can make it practical.
Exactly this
Anyone else so sad about Michael Emerson's character? Would have LOVED if he was there for the duration!
Overall, it's great, though, for immersion, realism, that we can't expect our fav characters to come out unscathed!
The squire from the brotherhood of steel that took that experimental drug to help his healing, is that super mutant strong from the game?
No, Strong is in Boston. The series takes place in California. Also, they said he became a ghoul, not a super mutant.
I hope we get to see more of mr. House the elvis fan,and of course the institute.
I’m really hoping the institute comes into the tv show too!
We would have to see. It's been 15 years since the events of New Vegas, and this show. Alot could have changed.
@@theicedevilI haven't looked too hard at the dates but the impression I had was that shady sands was destroyed shortly after fall out new Vegas.
Also story set up on 2 canonically ending to Fallout 4. Either Brotherhood victory or Minuteman ending without them destroying brotherhood, either option would've had them destroy the institute. Always a chance Synth could be about but in small numbers only.
TBH the idea of Vault-Tec dropping the initial nukes and kickstarting the retaliatory launches and consequent Mutually Assured Destruction does conflict with what the original Fallout co-creator said (Tim Cain confirmed that the Chinese dropped the nukes as retaliation for the US developing the FEV in their original idea), but oddly enough it does make more sense....China knew the Americans would retaliate within minutes to the initial launches, so a sudden strike on their part would seem quite unreasonable
The only issue now would be the Enclave....in game lore, Vault experiments were sponsored by the Enclave that wanted some case studies for every possibility that could happen on a multi-generation starship (be it exposure to radiation, limited amount of resources, overcrowding, cryostasis etc.), except the ships were never made in time, so in Season 2 either the Enclave involvement in Project Safehouse will be greatly marginalized if not removed, or we'll be told that everyone in the Enclave was interested in the case studies of the Vaults for repopulating the surface and the starships were just a potential development that was never further explored
What a time to be living in where video game and anime adaptations are good
Right? Onepeice live action was a surprise treat, and I quite enjoyed Fallout's show too, hope both have great second seasons
"Best live action tv series based on a game so far".
Last of us has entered the chat.
I hoped we get a lot of screentime of dogmeat next season
Charlie didn’t lie at all when he said the Warhammer 40K series Team and Henry Cavil is now on notice with a game to live action adaptation and better bring it. I completely agree.
I mean lie... he did, kind of. But I think it's because Charlie isn't a full blown video game nerd and he gets most of his information online.
Warhammer 40k began in 1987, it was many years before they got a video game. The show IS NOT a video game adaptation.
I barely know anyone that thinks "video game" when talking about 40k
what you mean deathclaws are from FO4, they make appearances in every single fallout game
Sometimes this guy says some wack things. Seems he hasn’t played the games lol.
The Vault-tech’s bombing the country plot.. was actually in the vault-tech headquarters computers messages in the game
@@pirtatejoe Don't forget the 'other' suspect; the Aliens (Zetas).

The final shot being New Vegas was brilliant. Couldn't have ended on a better note imo. Love the series, especially Goggins' portrayal of the ghoul.
Cheers all!
Nice!
Awesome recap and coverage as always. Thank you C!
Was very satisfied with this series. Especially with some of the recently butchered video game adaptations. Looking at you halo......
Nice theory!
So did anyone pick up in episode 7? When Lucy is in vault 4 and she actually is looking at the new NCR flag.If you listen really carefully, you can hear The Fallout.Theme play that had me freaking out😮
Carefully? It was the only sound playing in that scene.

They did a great job. It's one of the best live action video game adaptations. Henry Cavill's Warhammer and the Bioshock TV Series will have to up their game!
Releasing it weekly actually makes views go down not up yes it’s a benefit for UA-camr not the viewer lol
