The drummer is truly amazing here. You can tell that she's paid her dues and now she's earning her pay for sure. She's flat out good....if not downright great in this number.

Don't get why some of you are saying that ChoA and MinA aren't playing their instruments live. They are both playing live. Their instruments are being plugged in Jimin's amplifier. 1 amplifier is able to get 3 guitars to plug in at the same time. And you can also clearly see that there's a wire at the end of ChoA's guitar and MinA's bass. You can hear ChoA's guitar at the beginning as well also MinA's bass sound :) the people organizing this might feel it's too troublesome having to adjust 3 amps for a 3~4 min performance. Don't worry, they are playing live. Just want to clear some of your misunderstandings. I know the works of amps and electric guitars and instruments. :) have a great evening!
They all have their own amps. The kind of amps they are using cannot handle more than one instrument. But they are in fact playing. I have learned how to do all their parts and it checks out here.
bass needs a bass amp and cab, not a guitar amp, you cannot get that clean punchy bass tone with guitar amp and Mina is standing in front of the bass amp to hear herself. and the bass sounds loud here, you cannot separately mix the instruments if they were all plugged in the same amp. also You's drums are miked with drum screens and i saw at least one of the guitar cabs miked, not to mention mikes on all the horn section players, so yeah i agree they are live otherwise the sound crew would not go through all that trouble
This is really rare in K-pop world, If they will not continue doing this I just hope that Youkyung will form her own band cause she has the potential in playing the drums. she's really cool!

In Korea bands are NOT popular, you rarely see any band groups. However in Japan, bands are way more popular, that's why you see FTIsland and CNBlue spent most of their time there.
I hate it when people say that only these members should be in AOA. The other members can play instruments too. (Check out their interviews) They are also good dancers, actresses, models and decent singers/rapper.
+fAshSon yea they used to have the rap parts split between Jimin and Mina. Now they just try to portray Jimin ast the all powerful rapping goddess in the music videos but it doesn't really work out that well in reality (live). They seem to have so mush fun singing and playing live though and awkward when lipsyncing. or when Mina just doesn't have any lines.
I really miss AOA Black. When Confused came out the first thing I did was to search for the band live but I couldn't find it, and I thought I'd see it the following week (during their debut days, they did dance for the first week, then band for the second week, so on and forth) to know that they were not doing this concept anymore. Their sexy concept is never more appealing than this.
I would trade all their sexy concepts for this any day of the week. And I just have to add, their sexy concepts were the very reason I missed this side of them. After one, maybe two, sexy concepts, I moved on from AOA simply because I wasn't interested in the sexy thing and at the time, it seemed as if that's all they did.. Therefore, I never discovered that they actually played instruments until approx. one week ago. And I was absolutely stunned to say the least. . I sincerely hope they don't abandon this side of their talents. But from some of the comments I read, here and other places, it seems likely that they are. I really hope that I am wrong.

So what does that say about our society in general (and more specifically, the South Korean society)? Sex sells--we all know that. And should we blame the musical artists and the talent agencies for going with what people prefer and will actually buy/support, or should they stick to something that will never achieve mainstream success? Musical artists who willfully stay in the indie/underground side of the music industry too often end up working mundane jobs to make ends meet because they can't even make a decent living doing the kind of music they personally prefer. So what is the bigger compromise--to work mundane day jobs that withers their creative souls just so they can make music on weekends, or to switch to mainstream pop with a sexy image and enjoy huge success with a huge fan-base that love and support them? It all depends on what is more important to the person, right? For some people, they think "musical integrity" is the most important thing. But what if the AOA members don't actually feel that mainstream pop with a sexy image is somehow lacking in musical integrity, and it's simply a difference in style/emphasis? What if they actually enjoy looking and feeling sexy, and have a lot fun with the sexy concepts, and to them, it's not less respectable than playing in a band? As you can see, it's not as simple as people think--there are multiple factors and only the girls themselves know how they really feel, and what is more important to them. And what if people stopped lamenting AOA's change of style and instead, go and support all the South Korean indie/underground bands that really do need all the support they can get? It's not as if there aren't all-female South Korean bands out there--why not go support them if the idea of a band is so important?

Jay Bo On If we flip it around--let's say AOA has always been a straightforward band. Now imagine people commenting on what a shame it is that all the members are so gorgeous and sexy, yet they don't ever try and do a sexy concept group dance number and show off their appeal. I'm sure there would be comments like, "If AOA did a sexy idol concept, I bet they can be just as good if not better than Rainbow Blaxx, Girl's Day, Stellar, Sistar, After School, etc. But we'll never know because the girls are content just hiding behind their instruments." Well, at least now we know for sure that the AOA girls not only can do it, they absolutely killed it and became one of the best sexy concept girl groups in K-Pop. Unfortunately, they are so good at it that it became their main identity, and the majority of fan-base are there for the sexy idol concept and not for their band. It is very likely that if they went back to being a band, they'll lose a big portion of their current fan-base. I would love to be proven wrong though. Another thing to consider, is the fact that often the so-called "bands" in mainstream K-Pop are actually "idol bands" that do pretty much the same shallow love songs as the dancing idols, except they also play instruments and sometimes write the songs themselves. It's not as if the idol bands are amazing musicians and write songs with any substance. They're all put together by the talent agencies just like the dancing idol groups. AOA Black is really just another one of those idol bands. If you want actual great musicians and songwriters, you'd have to look to the Korean indie/underground scene. BTW, there are plenty of women who are still very sexy into their 30's and 40's, or even into their 50's. Look at Lee Hyori, Lee Jung-Hyun, Uhm Jung-hwa, Jennifer Lopez, Salma Hayek, Kim Dickens, Marisa Tomei, Mary-Louise Parker, etc. 30's seems old only to those who are really young. When you are older yourself, 30's actually seems fairly young.
The lively CHO-A face at the time of AOA BLACK. I guess I could have enjoyed it as a vocalist. I also like AOA in the band system, and if I continued this as it was, CHO-A wouldn't have quit? I suddenly think. That's good ~ AOA BLACK is the best!

Jimin's electric guitar was quite loud...maybe it over powere Choa but Choa wasn't really hitting the notes or playing chords...she was just strumming...well she started playing guitar only for about 3-4 years so yeah but you could hear some accoustic though...maybe the next time they play live, all the instruments will be balnced. Mina's bass could be a little louder too...Youkyung and Mina were great

This is really fucking great! I really wish they did more stuff like this if they really play the instruments they hold here, and I believe they do. I mean, I obviously like their Miniskirt type of stuff, but being a rock 'n roll guy, honestly this is so much nicer and shows their talent as players apart from dancing only. Really good presentation here, and lovely funky song also.

영상으로 보니까 뒤에서 건반치는 친구도 되게 잘부르네 후렴부분 한명만부르는줄알았는데
Jimin's electric guitar was quite loud...maybe it over powere Choa but Choa wasn't really hitting the notes or playing chords...she was just strumming...well she started playing guitar only for about 3-4 years so yeah but you could hear some accoustic though...maybe the next time they play live, all the instruments will be balnced. Mina's bass could be a little louder too...Youkyung and Mina were great

AOA가 이런 그룹이었구나..전혀 몰랐네..SNL에서 쵸아 처음보고..얘네는 벗방이야 뭐야..그렇게 생각했었는데..
노래는 누가 만들었는지 모르지만 참..이런 노래로는 뜨기 힘들었겠다.
그래서 댄스가수로 나간건가..밴드라는 것 처음 알았네..
밴드가 뜨기 힘든게..댄스가수는 애들이 보고 환호하는데 애들이라도 춤이 화려한건 알거든..
밴드는 일단 악기를 다루지 않으면 그것이 얼마나 힘든지 전혀 모르거든..그러니 감정이입도 안되고..팬이 안모이지..
그래서 밴드는 밴드에 관심있는 사람들이 사줘야 되는데..그들은 음악에 관심있는 사람들이라 음악이 별로면 쳐다도 안보지..
그리고 요즘처럼 앨범을 거진 안사는 시대에는 더더욱 안사고..그렇다고 아이돌 팬처럼 스밍을 하지도 않고 총공도 안함
그러니 밴드들은 설자리가 없어지는 것임

This is really fucking great! I really wish they did more stuff like this if they really play the instruments they hold here, and I believe they do. I mean, I obviously like their Miniskirt type of stuff, but being a rock 'n roll guy, honestly this is so much nicer and shows their talent as players apart from dancing only. Really good presentation here, and lovely funky song also.
