Glad to see you working on stuff again! As you hinted at already, keep it simple so we can all enjoy seeing it finished. My vote goes for inflatable front tires if that counts for anything. Also maybe consider buffing and waxing your paint instead of sanding with clearcoat? looks like fun regardless, have a good one!
Chevy Orange Deere Green I don't have much experience with buffing and wax. I think the wetsand will be better at removing some of the oxidized paint and minor rust, but thats just me.
wow! this video helped me identify the mower with my dad riding on in an older photo. Was this one made by Gilson? The one in the picture is Green so I'm thinking this mower was also sold under the Lawn Boy Name too. Do you have anymore info?
Very nice I wanna see the progress keeps me posted please I have a Murray getting a new transmission pulley cause old one was worn out and eating up drive belts its a rear engine 10horsepower Briggs 30inch cut I'm excited
I have one like that really similar to it that I'm going to start fixing up for a long but mine has headlights in it it's a little different same body style though
I did a lot of ebay searching a few years back when I got the mower and managed to get a new old stock replacement from ebay, I can't remember the part number but I found it by searching briggs and stratton fuel tank and eventually found it. I'll see if I can get a part number, I still have the box it came in.
I am working on a Montgomery Wards tractor with a rear discharge deck I'm having trouble mounting the deck there is a cable for the lift that seems to be short I used a short chain but it's not right I think I am missing a part any help would be appreciated (it's a 1983 model Gil 33889A
Hey hotrod, Iam currently semi-restoring an old John Deere rider. I've been looking for some used front/rear tires for it. Was wondering if maybe you had some you'd sell me. I believe you live local to me. Let me know! I need a front 15x6.00-6 and a rear 18x9.50-8 turf savers
Richard Caldwell I'm near the Dfw area of Texas. I don't have any of the 18x9.50-8s as those get used up as I find good ones. The front tires 15x6.00-6s I have a small supply of.
76hotrodF250 do you want to continue this over email? If so what's your email. I'm in south Fort Worth. I at least need one front tire if you got a good deal on one. I have a home lite chainsaw ill trade you for one if you wanna make a trade
Richard Caldwell I'm extremely busy right now with work, I won't have time til maybe Sunday. I don't know how bad you need a tire or how far you are willing to travel. I live closer to the Oklahoma border.
Sweet ole tractor! I'm glad to see you're giving it the attention is deserves. I'm ready to see it mowing grass!
Awesome project.

From what I remember it was made by Gilson. Gilson made a lot of equipment for Wards and others. Not much info out there sadly.

Ed James Those old Murray RERs are great little mowers. I've had a few and still got a green one, look for the video of it, its a Murray Ultra.
Any other update or finished product video on this one ?
Have not touched it since the video.

That tractor would be built by Gilson. Try that, but I have no real experience with Gilsons.
