There is no 'th' sound in our Hutterite dialect
Awesome as always. Thank God for Canada's cleanliness. Right on best dairy farmers on earth. Thank you!!
A lot/most of the dairy facilities are clean. This one is no exception, very nice and clean. It's a lot of work to keep it clean.
When I used to ride with my brother in law picking up milk the colonies around Kindersley and Rosetown were always spotless on the inside of their milk rooms. I bet that indoor cow barn really set your wheels spinning. No more flooded corrals in the spring, no more frozen manure build up and best of all no more bunks to shovel!
The work load seems much less with the covered feed lots. Faster weight gain too? Health costs lower?
Thanks for the awesome tour! They sure do run a very clean Dairy operation! I love the different Dairy Barns videos you share with us, Thanks!
Thank you Brothers for such a nice tour. Clean barns, good hair coats, liked the first robot brushing the feed closer, and the dog loves to play ball!
Shout out from Michigan! I really enjoy these dairy farm tours. Getting to see both the differences and the similarities of dairy farmers from all over is awesome! Thanks for another great video Jan. ♥️🇺🇲🇨🇦
I was really impressed with the barn that housed the heifers. Just think Jan of no more shoveling the feed bunks your favorite job
SaskDutch Kid. I enjoy your videos. I grew up in south western Ontario and as a young teen our neighbour got hurt working with his Jersey herd. The neighbours got together and went to work milking the herd including my mother who was a full on city girl. There were 60 head busy times. The next summer I worked with a farmer who was milking about 25 head of Holsteins not unlike your herd. I learned a lot that summer but the following summer a friend talked me into working in the Tobacco Harvest. We made a lot more money and I stuck with that work until I was done High School. Things have sure changed since the 1960's. What a professional job your family does. Living in Calgary now.
Our stories are very similar .. I am still in sw Ontario
swift colony is only 3.5 miles away from me! great people and i also got the privilege of digging the grade bean for the new dairy! great neighbours and thanks Jan for highlighting these great people
That is my dream dairy right there. Beautiful well managed operation. Thanks for taking the time to make the video.

As an old English teacher, I love to hear authentic dialects. We don't hear that one much in Kansas. Very pleasant guys.
Yea it sounds very nice but i dont think it's an dialect and more an accent. Jan say something about hutterites. So they probaply dont speak english at home but german. And as an nativ (Swiss-)german speaker myself, they do have an south german dialect accent when they speak english.
@@aaronderdasdie I think they were of Dutch stock.
I enjoy listening to accents from pretty much from all over the world.
@@albertbusscher4270I’ve lived close to about 10 or 11 Colonies throughout my life and they all speak German or English at home, at school both languages are perfected. Right now I live in a city in Southern Alberta where you. Fellows come to go to University. Theres 2 houses on my street that consistently have Hutterites live there and go to school. They learn a trade that’s needed on there colony and go home. I can’t count how much produce and meat I’ve been lucky enough to get from them.
@@aaronderdasdie Dutch more likely
Thank you for all your time and effort for allowing us to be a part of what you o, and what other farms are doing as well. Great tours you receive for us to enjoy as well as to learn from.
More of these 'tour' videos please (as time permits of course) would be awesome! Hello from Ontario. Love both you and your sisters efforts to educate and entertain us.
Great video Jan. I like when you just let the guys talk instead of a Q & A thing. Very clean facility no wonder why their proud and happy to talk about it. The automation always blows me away from allowing cows to enter to the every cow cup cleaning. It was a very complete air & ground video.
Outstanding Love these tours and for me, this was one of the best, if not the best. What a neat farm and neat people working there. Great work, Jan. Hope you can do more of these.
This farm was really interesting! Looked up the Colony and thought what an interesting way to live. In the Willamette River valley here in Oregon we have a number of Mennonites. They too have dairies. Oh and we have really great dairy here. So many cows are pasture fed! This tour was one of my favs. The variety of equipment, the cleanliness and the dedication for a top notch dairy was good to see. Those brothers were “a hoot”!
Appreciating how clean and neat it all was shows your Dutch genes Jan!
I love that there cows are covered in the winter. Great video!
Awesome video!! Love seeing the farm tours
As a small time sheep farmer it is so neat to see all the new tech and how it does take a lot or at least a portion out of the labor. So cool
Impressive operation. They spared no expense in making it automated. Redundancies everywhere too. So clean.
It’s so funny! There is no doubting those guys are brothers, if they had the same beard, they would be twins: maybe they are twins anyway. Great video Jan, love seeing how the different dairies are setup.
They not twins, just 2 guys with no girlfriend
Great setup! Amazed how clean they keep it!
What a beautiful, clean farm. I really appreciate the tours!
Thank you Jan’ great farm visit God Bless you guys for all you do for us all 🇺🇸🙏🇨🇦🫵.
Thanks for another perspective of dairy farming in Saskatchewan!
Great tour of the colony dairy barn. Very interesting.
Nice one, Jan; refreshing how you keep us on our toes with your Vlogs, and getting them to talk about their passion without interrupting is a quality one doesn't stumble upon often these days. (gaaf gedaan gast, je weet ons elke keer weer te verassen, lijkt wel non-stop-Sinterklaas) 👌👌
Thanks for this excellent tour video. What a beautiful and well thought out operation. I use to have dreams about having a dairy farm like this😂 Congratulations to everyone involved as it takes many hands to keep everything this clean and well run. Have a blessed day!
Cleanest dairy barn I’ve ever seen. Very good job and obviously very well management
Thanks Jan for the tour that had to be the cleanest dairy farm I have ever seen for a 5 year old building but it really should be with the way it works very little labor involved on a day to day operations great video stay safe
Two top notch guys there.
Awesome dairy, thanks for the tour.
Beautiful barn set up love the cow house as well nice and clean well managed place they have
Great tour, Jan. Thank you for sharing. Dairy of the future is here now.
Very nice tour
Jon.
Thank you for the walk along tour of that other dairy farm. Yes, it looks very clean. That clear span barn is a big beast of a barn. Could save some beding cost for you folks if you had one like it. Plus, save shoveling snow out of your feed bunks just a thought !!!
Please take care of yourself.
Richard
What a sweet place. Love to see other ways to run an operation. Thanks Jan
Thanks a lot Jan.👍
I like that calf feeder system, nice farm! - thanks for sharing
Farm Tours by SDK. I Love it.
Thank you for the tour. Good way to see new products and ideas that you might be able to incorporate into your dairy.
Very impressive, thanks for the tour !
I liked the layout for barn. The cows on inside, and food on outside
Hay Jan, i love watching your daily videos about the cows and farm. this is such a cool entertaining and learning videos of dairy cows. maybe you can share more about how to use tools in the farm so we can learning how it works. btw thank you so much for amazing videos. greetings from Indonesia
Absolutely amazing and interesting thanks again 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Great video tour , congratulations, well done , clean & organized, stay safe !
Interesting to see modern integration like these into farming.
A very enjoyable and inter4sting tour. I am always amazed that the cows go to the milking machines and even wait in line for their turn.

Ha! Ask any nursing mother what it feels like if the feeding is delayed.

Thats one nice, thought out farm.
Thank you for sharing another interesting video, Jan. You do great work!
Very impressive operation. Thanks for sharing with us ❤
Jan I can see you and your Family putting up a Huge Bright span shed over your corrals.
Wow! I really thought it was brand new!!😊
Thank you for sharing this video with us. I learned about many new ways of dairy farming today. Sure is different than it was in my younger years.
Jan needs to make a farma tour channel
That is one well laid out and efficient barn.
What an interesting video showing the recent innovations in dairy farming. First, I am awe struck on the vast flat fields of land also noted on your own farm in Saskatchewan. The brothers and representative did a great job explaining the facilities and specific items during the tour. It certainly is a beautiful facility. Questions: 1-On the robots, certainly seems like a more sanitary way of milking. Does someone have to be on call if there is a problem? Also, how do they determine if a cow doesn't go into the corral to be milked other than visually checking? They showed the bull pens, so they don't do AI? Yikes, grown bulls are dangerous. The heifer raising facilities are amazing and so clean. Would that be something you could see in the future for your farm (especially in the winter)? Jan, you excel in all you do to bring us interesting and daily views into dairy farming, thank you!!!
Really enjoy seeing your families farm always very impressive in its own right. But also enjoy seeing what other farms operations look like weather it be here at home or in the US. I've watched from day one and I'm still amazed at the amount of capital that's been invested and reinvested in all of the farms. And I'm just talking about the buildings, milking equipment, feed mills and rolling equipment. I can't imagine what the live stalk is worth.
What a beautiful dairy.
Thanks sir...fun to see others...👨🌾🚜👨🌾😍
Great vlog Jan! ❤️
This a beautiful set-up. Thanks for the info that these guys put out.
I sure do like the calf rooms and the 120x400 barn the way everything is clean and the animals happy and healthy.
Thanks for the Video🎉
I see they do a great job for clean bedding. Lots and very clean.
Nice tour. Your farm on the front side is amazing. Your corals cost you a lot of time and money. He had some great advice moving the heifers inside. I know it costs a lot of money for a building. Something you guys should look into
Awesome video,, thanks for all you and your family do … ❤️❤️
very cool, and clean! Well trained cows.
Thanks Jan. Good video.
Watching from Central Florida here and something not right about this. Why would those cows live better than me. Very nice setup there. Thanks
Great tour!!!
i have a son in law who worked for De Laval for about 20 years as an installer of new parlors. in the Fraser Valley in BC. he just left there to work for himself.
AWESOME!
Awesome video as always. Very interesting for me as we run beef cattle in Manitoba. Well done.
You’re lucky to get to tour so many places and get to see what works really good and maybe other things that don’t so much
Beautiful dairy no doubt the brudders😂 enjoys working there
Thanks a million for doing these tour videos, I travel quite a bit around Europe and see many farms here but I don’t get to visit North America often, in fact the last time I visited your neck of the woods back in the 80’s it was all tie up byres and enormously labour intensive. I love these videos as I may as well dream looking at them as in bed, I remember visiting a Hutterite place in Canada way back they were milking about 40 cows in a lofted barn with a bucket plant fine in the day but they had some very good cows giving 50 to 60 kgs a day and ( the bucket only held about 25 kgs I think and they had a few cows that they had to stop milking to put a new bucket on ( mad stuff) they were going to put in a pipe line with six units to speed up the milking because the vacuum line they had limited them to 3 units, and they were going to 3 times a day milking when they had it installed. I think those guys would be completely blown away if they were transported to this place. We milk the same amount of cows as those guys but we couldn’t afford to build a unit like this in our wildest dreams, it would cost us about €3500,000 to put this up.
A awesome farm! Great video.
That's great, thanks I enjoy seeing how farmers do it differently. could you put one of those buildings over your outside pens?
Really interesting. Different vibe like when you tour other farms.
Cheers from Edmonton.
really nice set up
Great Video Tour! I noticed the large ceiling fans, maybe something you would consider adding to your barn for air circulation?
Bedankt Jan
That was an amazing facility.
That set-up must have cost a fortune and that must have been made by their father with an old fashion farm. Greetings from Australia
"Must have". 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hi Jan, Great tour video. Wondering if you and Mirjam might be planning to visit Piet van Bedaf in Carrington, North Dakota to tour the van Bedaf farm along with their Cows and Co Creamery. I've enjoyed their channel and watching their cheese making videos has really helped me understand what Mirjam has to look forward to. I wish you good luck in the future and hope to be an online customer once the gouda is ready to ship.
WOW!!! Cant imagine the cost of all concrete walls.
The robot milkers price might really shock you then X 4
