Hi Paul, I have listened to all of these Guitars Stories with Bruce - I’ve been a fan of the Shads for 55 years ( from 1968 ). Like 1000s of others because of Hank and the Shads I learnt to play guitar and joined a band - something I still do today
Love hearing all this stuff from the man himself. Keep it going

Hi, where do you buy those nifty little nut tightners for the input Jack that you demonstrate? How much are they?

Bruce always my fav Shadow and I'm enjoying his stories so much. Just finished reading his book (as shown) I read it in one day, I was so engrossed! I've been inspired to re-learn guitar despite my age and this time round absolutely loving it.

I met Paul about 10 years ago at Andy Guyton’s workshop. He used my guitar for the Brian May section of one of his books. An absolute gentleman and pleasure to talk to. Keep the videos coming, Shawn

Digressing a little, it might be fun to ask Bruce about the people the lads worked with in the '60s, notably the wonderful Arthur Worsley & "Charlie Brown", who featured with them in summer season shows and tours abroad.

Great series! How do I email you Paul? I would like to know why the sound on the first (1961) album is so much “brighter and crisper” compared with the Out Of The Shadows album from 1962? Both great albums but the latter one does sound flatter and less open. Regards from Sussex.

Dear Michael - is this the vinyl versions or the CD's? I was Norries engineer for some years so I'm intrigued

      @@paulbalmer7653 Hello Paul,
I’m a long term fan and have all formats. The stereo imaging on “The Shadows” is terrific and the guitars strings sound crisp, dynamic and alive. On “Out of the Shadows” Hank’s strings sound duller. “1861” or “Tales of a Raggy Tramline” are good examples whereas “Cosy” and
“The Rumble” are a little more open and resonant. Maybe the guitars used were the red Strats with Rosewood boards by then rather than the original maple fingerboard. You can also tell especially with good headphones which tracks featured Jet compared with Liquorice on the second album. Brilliant series, best wishes.

I checked them out, but there was a comment that they don’t suit the Stratocaster Jack Input arrangement. Is yours one specifically made for a Strat or just the standard one available on STEWMAC? Also what sort of echo device do you use for your sound? I’m currently just using an old Boss delay pedal. Thanks in anticipation! Tony from Colac, Victoria. Australia
