- As well as being amazing 2D animation software, Cartoon Animator is also ideal for creating motion comics and more.
Join me in this tutorial as I walk you step by step through the process of how I set up a motion comic panel with CTA.

This program looks amazing!!! It just seems like Gary is the only one who can use it!?! Lol. I don't see many other people with tutorials. (I'm sure I'm wrong though.)
You will find a number of independent developers making CTA tutorials in addition to myself, Kai DeNeve and Mark Diaz who produce them in collaboration with Reallusion. However, if you go visit the Cartoon Animator Users Facebook group, we currently have over 5,000 CTA users who are always publishing their content, projects and work in progress.
Another great tutorial. Really digging into FFD.
You know, honestly, when CTA5 came out, Free Form Deformation (FFD) was the feature that I really thought didnt do all that much. I didnt think Id use it. But when I complete an animation of an actor, I then go back to frame 1 and start adding subtle squash and stretch using FFD and it makes a HUGE difference. The key to using FFD is to not overdo it.
@@GarryPye Great advice!
Is it possible to move the playhead and make a new "frame zero"? I've had to abandon projects because I can't find keyframes, or I've accidentally moved the playhead before setting my scene up. Thanks so much for these tutorials. They are a huge help!
Yes! At the top of your timeline are two little red arrow. The left one is the start frame and the right one is the end frame. So your animation doesnt have to start at frame zero! If you get stuck, send me an email to garrypye@reallusion.com
¿teneis algún video explicando como hacer motion comic para principiantes en todo este asunto? Me gustaría animar comics de marvel y disney
If youre interested in motion comics, I would suggest checking out Reallusions offical UA-cam channel for the tutorials made by Mark Diaz. They are excellent.
Gracias, le echaré un ojo al cnl, lo malo que son en ingles y es complicador leer mientras editas y ves el video@@GarryPye
Omg I would love to buy this game
Can you make Marvel/ DC like characters? I'm making my own comic, so I'll be able to give them bones?
Absolutely. With Cartoon Animator you can animate as much or as little of a character as you want. And you can create, import and rig all your own characters with custom bones!
@@GarryPye thank you I will definitely give this a shot, and are there also vfx effects?
Do you mean are there visual effects in the motion comics? You can add them any way you want. You can have animated effects added in via CTA or in post production.
When cartoon animator decides to release on iPad Pro, I’ll gladly buy or subscribe.
I would consider finding other 2D animation software then. Because Cartoon Animator is PC only.
yes.. we have toonsquid & procreate dreams on iPad. But I like this one better 😊
