Disney's Activity Center - Toy Story (CD-ROM Longplay #34)

- ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION:
BEFORE YOU COMMENT:
There's a section in Pizza Planet that lets you watch FMV clips from the movie. I did not cover it for copyright reasons.
Upload Take 2. Processing without a foreseeable end does not appeal to me in the slightest. Pixar did a good job with this game, I'm sure a lot of Toy Story fans enjoyed it back in the day. BTW, I do plan on redoing my Toy Story Animated Storybook to cover some clickpoints y'all have pointed out in the comments. Enjoy!

I can't believe how little content the game has, yet I played it for HOURS.
"That little ball in the corner can be a BIG help! To learn more about it, just click the question mark twice!"
There's a very unique and nostalgic feel to that old late '90s/early '00s 3D rendering. It's perhaps "plasticky", but between the lighting, the shapes and the colourful textures, it's got this style and personality that you just don't see anymore. I love it.
My 3-D animations have that charm too!
Plasticky style really matched TS1 and TS2 because the Toys actually look plastic.
I feel like TS3 and TS4 moved away from that style and made them too humaniod soft skin like.
@@KyleEvra Exactly - totally agree.
I think so much of it comes down to the great art design compensating for the severe technical limitations back in the day.
_TS1_ and _2_ were literally like "The visuals look plastic, so make the characters plastic." Perfect. Such a unique vibe, particularly the first one. I tend to rewatch it the most.
_TS3_ is still nice, because while the CG is overall better, the art design and colours are eye-wateringly lovely. For me, that's truly the best looking of the films. There's a great warmth to it.
_TS4,_ by comparison, feels cold and soulless to me. Realistic lighting, textures and backgrounds with very cartoony characters looks so wrong. Felt the same about _Soul_ where everyone just looks like they stepped out of _Spitting Image._

You do have a point there.
Toy story 3 did kinda stick to the Cartoonish feeling.
Toy Story 4 definitely mixed realism with fantasy that never mixes well.
My favorite was making your own toy in Sid's room game
Wow who remembers this being promoted on there VHS of Toy Story back in the day. i cant believe my eyes is this really that old ?!?
I remember. I bought the VHS from 1996 7 years ago (in 2013).
*Don't wake him up!* (Then, darn it!) PS: That was for the Toy Story animated storybook.
"YOU WIN! WHAT A GREAT GAME!!!!"

1:01:10 Woody: “Oh-ho-ho! Buzz, what did I just say? I said ‘STAY OUT OF TROUBLE!’”
When I watched this video on my phone, I wondered "Why does Woody's voice sound so different?", That's because Tom Hanks' brother, Jim Hanks was voicing Woody!
Jim has voiced Woody in every bit of Toy Story material that wasn't the movies, the two TV specials, or the three Toy Story Toons shorts.
And you got patrick fraley the voice of buzz lightyear
*That's interesting!*
@@francescodeconcilio6403 Wasn't he Lucky from "Rainbow Brite"?
Yes.
Jim Hanks voices Woody in any Videogames or Toys...ect.
Woody: Incredible.
Aliens: We have a real wise guy here.
Going through this playlist, I'm realizing how many of these activity centers I actually had. I'm also realizing that like none of the original va's participated in these. Such a fun trip down memory lane. Thanks for these!
Rex, Hamm and Slink were original voices
I've missed this game so much, thank you so much for bringing it back.

My neighbor had both this and the animated storybook. We unfortunately did get a computer till we were 9 in the year 2000 and by that point, both games were deleted from computer stores.
Thumbs up if you danced with Buzz when you were a kid when you played Disney's Animated Storybook Toy Story. My dad was shocked to see that my mom's favorite character from Toy Story could really boogie.

mis-match of the century
So much nostalgia
I loved this as a kid, my favorite was the toy creator
John lasseter is the Director of Toy Story, a bugs life, cars.
+Dylan Marvin Mine, too!
I’ve never played this game but it looks fun
You don't need an extra head all you need is a child's head for a body and two white arms and a spring that's it nothing else
I'm japanese but the reason that I can write the comment like this and can hear at least what english speakers are saying, is probably because I played this game on the old Macintosh back in the day 3yr old. The educational impact that these CD ROM games had back in the day is underrated.
Here some strategies when playing:
- Five in a row with Slinky: try to confuse your opponent by getting too many in a rows. If your opponent is about to get 3 in a row, block your opponent
- Sums up with Hamm- start with higher numbers but keep the small numbers before reaching the sums up limit to 39 on Level 1. Make sure to keep 0s in case Hamm played a wild card. Using -10s on Levels 2 and 3 are best to keep from Hamm winning
I always wanted to eat the marbles from Rex’s coloring game lol
I’m surprised companies don’t make activity games for kids now a days. Wish they continue games like this.
31:48 Woody got jumpscared!
Freddy Fazbear jumpscare Woody. Am I right? 😂😂
@@mr.jes5e12oss2 Kind of.

CAN YOU FEEL THE EXCITEMENT AND
The slime game starts when the aliens vomit soda on Woody and Buzz and think they're idiots and challenge us in a memory game? While that may be a little small of a conflict for a game, I'd say these aliens might find a place in someone's heart. We should get the word out about these aliens, and make lots of videos about them, and hope that our favorite UA-camrs do the same in return.
i wonder who voices Babyface in this game
That Buzz is pretty silly when he still looking at me.
I haven't played this fun software since I was little, can you make a video with all the animations in the Build a toy game?
5:47 YOU WIN WHAT A GREAT GAME!!!
Here's are big important reminder: If you want to play this game, you need to download and install a virtual machine that can emulate windows 3.1, 95, 98, xp, and more
WARNING: I think running it on Windows 10/11 will be better because it's more faster than the other old computers
I used to play this.
