A pretty accurate interpretation of how this game would be in PS1, specially with the cutscenes between levels, something pretty common in PS1 videogames based on animated movies

The movie clips would've been remade with Jim Hanks' voice as Woody, Pat Fraley's voice as Buzz Lightyear, and ANYthing or anyone NOT supposed to appear was removed in favor of a PlayStation version of the game.

As a Sega gamer, I feel the Toy Story video game should have also been released on Sega Saturn and Sega Game Gear. I did some concept art of the Game Gear version's box art in a community post I posted the day Lightyear hit theaters. I suspect that the Saturn version would have been similar to the PC version, and the Game Gear version would have been developed by Black Pearl Software, who also developed the Game Boy version, having all the same levels as the Game Boy version, but with enhanced graphics and sound since the Game Gear was a more powerful handheld system than the Game Boy. Similar to games like Sonic Blast, Baku Baku Animal, and Bugs Bunny in Double Trouble, it would use pre-rendered 3D sprites to show what the Game Gear was capable of at the tail end of its lifespan. I know Legend of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse was truly the last Disney game to be released for the Game Gear (in early 1995), but I feel that Toy Story should have been the last Disney game on the Game Gear. To a lesser extent, I think the Pinocchio video game should have also been released on the Game Gear.
The Sony PlayStation was still fresh from the oven when the movie was first released so it would have made perfect sense for this game to be on PS1. I kinda wish that actually happened.

Simply to say - they contacted every needed console maker to release their game for, yet ps1 was released not so long before movie launch.
