Algorithm, weekly chat time again. Al’s Dad and I are watching this together this week.
Hi mum and dad!
Exactly the type of video I love! Keep this up mate😎🤘🏼
yay thanks dude!
I'm glad that this creepy dude isn't riding on safety equipment anymore and is now exploring closed off kids playgrounds XD
lol!
Ali Clarkson, your edit at 16:40 at the arch made me laugh out loud
. That was an admirable effort and a reminder that your skill is earned through hard work. Nice video 👍
Thanks Jeff, that's actually how my attempts look at nearly everything I try, I just usually edit them down a bit :P
"Very cold" meanwhile the guy in the background skiing
Am I supposed to write "first"?
yup
not if you're second
Sidehop to nose pivot?
Anti physics Einstein couldn’t fathom - thank you Grand Master 🙏👊👊
haha you're welcome!
Always inspiring watching your videos! I was lucky enough to FINALLY-at age 51-throw my leg over a trials bike and try out the experience. A bit intimidating, I have a lot of work to do. Possible the largest trials meetup in the US here in the San Jose Bay Area- eight riders and bikes total. I got to ride a friend’s brand spanking new Inspired Fourplay yet found the smaller 24" wheels a bit dicey for me. There were four Fourplays in total (all of different vintages), one Arcade, one other bike of which I do not remember, and a couple trials competition bikes. My biggest fears on these bikes: crashing, and the landing-hard-on-feet dismounts (since I have old man bones). All in all a fun experience, and I will be going back for more! Should you find yourself back in the Bay Area, the local trials group would welcome your visit for sure!!!
That Trick is the classisal Clarkaround😁
Nice Video again. That Playground looks amazing
haha Clarkaround, I like it :D
I suggest the name hALIcopter or Ali-oop :) glad to see more classic street trials content, let's go!
I like Halicopter!
Is your channel still scuffed with the yt algorithm and stuff?
There’s still something going on. I tried to find out what, the only thing I can find is that a lot of companies have pulled their advertising from YT because of Covid, budgets have been uncertain and they’ve not wanted to spend money if they have to lockdown again or can’t get supplies.
That would certainly explain the drop in income (80% drop since 2020) but wouldn’t explain why videos don’t show up in feeds (even to subscribers). My click through rate is decent which suggests when my videos DO get shown people are interested and watch it and also confirms that my videos simply aren’t getting promoted on peoples subscription feed or home page. I still can’t figure out why
I don't do trials myself, but have the feeling that this rainbow-rail-like monkey-bar thingy would be easier with the comp bike - atleast the up-part.
You're totally right, the longer bike would help quite a bit
You're missing a trick if you don't call that spin the 'Ali-oop' ! ( Yes, I am aware of the double pun I have just made )
al alioop is already a thing though :(
Alihop?
Why was I looking for a neon stem whenyou clearly said "knee on stem"
lol I'm sure you're not the only one!
I love how you describe this winter day as "absolutely freezing", and after a couple of minutes ride in a t-shirt :)
I chuckle every time Ali says it's freezing cold. By the end of my 2.5 hour ride today it had warmed up to -13 C. Fatbiking in the Parc Gatineau hills, QC, Canada. I was wearing a few more layers than Ali. :-)
It's that weird "damp cold" that the UK seems to get...not as cold as other places but it gets right down to your bones. It's the type of cold that feels like you'll never warm up but of course as you could see that's not the case as I got plenty warm after a few dozen tries at something :P
@@greghenderson1362 Yeah dry -20°C in Lapland isn't too bad, but here in Helsinki in Finland -20°C is much worse
@2:25 that's as close as riding in trees it's gonna get. amazing spot.
@8:05 i believe those are called "Criss Cross/Diamond", i knew i've seen it before: ua-cam.com/video/DRhFbx6jm6Q/v-deo.html
v enjoyable video, thanks,
be safe everyone and have fun
Glad you liked it :)
Aces riding! SOooo much style. Those 180s should be called ALIoops, like how some spins were called Leechloops back in the day. Awesome video as always
Thanks Frank! Only issue with Alioop is that it's already a thing, can't have a clashing name :(
every videos you upload, seems to be like I am watching another type of Sci-fi! makes me set down more than usual and watch this not knowing my rice was overcooked....
sorry about your rice! :P
Build up the old 24'" Arcade and get over that kids' climbing thingy!
it's in my loft, it's tempting
I can't ride, Serbia's weather is trash at the moment. But it's a good time when Ali posts a street riding video!
I can imagine it's very harsh there!
2 mins woooo
Ali, there is a place in ancoats Manchester next to a canal marina, everything I drive past it I think it would be a trials riders dream. I'm not a trials rider myself it's just what I think when I drive past.
I keep on meaning to ride Manchester again, I'll have to take a look next time I do :)
All of those attempts on the arched playground piece looked energetic to me!
This style of video suits you, another good one!
Thanks Len, that's pretty much how it goes for everything I try...I just don't show all the attempts
Surely the trick should be an ALI-C-OOP
Now we’re talking!
I think this spot deserves a group challenge ride, who can nail the line first, with the Scottish lads. Wonderful riding as always Ali
I'd have my £20 note ready
You sir are a motivation to all us mid (late) 30s riders. Keep it up as long as you can!
Now there's a name I've not heard for a while!
And older. I discovered Ali back when he first started uploading (2015-16 I think) and I was a mid 40's ex BMX rider. I decided to buy an Inspired trials bike and currently own a 2016 Arcade. I'm 50 now and still go to the local spots and do things a bloke my age should be avoiding (should NOT be avoiding tbh)
@@GetawayFilms totallyagree ,51last year and learned to hop on back wheel last year thanks to your vids, footjam tailwhips this year...hopefully 🙂
Just keep it simple, call your spinny thingy the Ali Up To Nose
the Ali Nose Pick :P
Ali, I really love your videos ! You're an inspiration when it comes to street trials. But I really miss the group rides with Danny, Duncon Shaw and others. Would be so nice to see you and the other lads back together on the streets 🙂 best regards from Germany 🙂
Thank you! I really miss riding with them too but they’ve moved 4 hours away from here now :(
@@Ali_Clarkson I understand :-( Sad to hear that. But, who knows. Maybe sometime you'll cross each others path again ;-)
For the algorithm💥
Hi Ali,
a beginner Trials rider here. I´ve been enduro mountain biking for years and bought a dirtjump bike one year ago. It does the job but I recently made the decision to sell it and buy a trials bike since I have only used it for that. I am not really on a budget but I don't want to spend money on parts I don't need.
I don't even have many expectations. It should run Mt7s which are also on my enduro bike and a decent hub sound similar to hope hubs would be nice. Oh eh and a Saddle!
Not even sure about 24 or 26-inch wheels.
Other than that I'm a bit confused about what to look out for.
What's important? What breaks a lot? Should I buy a full bike or build it up myself?
Any recommendations?
And btw. great video as always. Been really appreciating the pov videos lately. Hopefully, the UA-cam algorithm is soon with you again!
Did everyone get a notification on Wednesday about ail new sponsor Glasgow city council There are so excited to have him A board they built him a new playground as a present not even Red Bull do that lol Can’t wait for the videos of the new spot
lol, Glasgow City Council gives you depression...doesn't quite have the same ring to it
Like most councils LOL
Those are certainly all words.
Ouch! But fact... check how many people in councils are highly active people... if not none I guess there would be just a handfull per big country!
@@danyarchambault7121 lol As a street rider myself I’ve had my fair share of dodging security and getting kicked out of spots but it still doesn’t stop me from going back to the same spot I would absolutely love to go to the spot in this video for a street rider this is absolutely heaven
THIS! This is the Ali C I signed up for.. Good to have you back man! And you seem to perked up no end. I'm made up for you!
And that looks like a sick place to ride too!
Call it the Ali-pop.
That was Cracking Ali! Love seeing you find try some really great places in Glasgow to do tricks at....
37th XDD
About that halfmoon bar bridge... However sketchy it might be, I think with your 26' wheels it would be possible to do it only on the back wheel with your bike pointing sideway at least 45 degrees (but not over 80 degrees as it would make too narrow and slipery landing) at least to reach the 4th bar from which the overall slope would be a charm!
Awesome video! You could call that trick an “Ali-oop”!
7:44 Applause
Thank you :P
Cute shirt; kudos to Jane. Though my wife reckons it might be a Shiba Inu, not a cat. But as neither of us can read the text, perhaps we'll never know.
And I share your attitude with regard to not completing every feature: Not only is there no shame in it, but it's nice to have something to look forward to.
Hey Ali Clarkson! I suggest the name Clarksend! Or the Smiling Cat! Ride ride ride!
haha I like that one!
Luv it when ali takes to the street! Great video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks Chris!
Yes very much enjoyed this video! Need to dig the Echo back out...
Great vid in the cold of Jan, nice one
Thanks Steve :)
Looking forward to you returning to the new location, once you are fully fit and healed up, and not so wet and cold.
Seeing you try again and again is so inspirational!
thanks!
Yes, Ali! I walk past here once a week and saw the potential in this new spot - was kind of expecting to see you ride it at some point!
👍
Loving the street videos! Hope that new spot opens up soon!
thanks, me too :)
Got to wonder, what goes though the mind of designers, designing street furniture?
But one thing is for sure, they do not design for it to be ridden on a bike!
2nd wooooo
close!
@@Ali_Clarksonlove from vietnam
Why do I think your rear wheels is bigger
Genuinely cannot wait to ride this spot!!
That is a killer shirt
agreed!
Loved this video, what a really cool place to have near you !
you should call those tricks the Alioop
it's tempting but an Alioop is already a thing :(
@@Ali_Clarkson oh well....
Awesome riding, as always 👍🏼
Some absolutely sublime smoothness on those lines at the end.
The rotten bench line - not the biggest thing you'll ever see, but that up to static smoothness and pause - MONEY!!
The bunny hop up that narrow wall was way bigger than the video suggests.
I've loved your riding for 20 years Ali.
Keep going mate.
Thanks very much Moz!
great riding Ali!
Thank you :)
You should do a video where u learn tail whips and or bar spins
Man I miss my bike :( great vid alli
broken? Stolen? I hope you can get riding soon!
@@Ali_Clarkson got took off me by a group of lads hopefully a friend or someone will get a new bike and give me a old frame thay took my phone and that to
Good to look after your shoulder . Caution now will make for so much more fun (& great vids for us) in the future.
Love what you do already so I can only imagine the 100% fit stuff 👍
Thanks! Yeah I'm at the age now that I really do need to start looking after myself more...I'd hate to quit riding due to laziness on that front
Would the arch thingie be easier if you try to hop straight away from the first landing and keeping the forward momentum rather than trying to stick it and get an impossibly steep next hop?
I tried that but my back wheel would hit the next rung and just bounce me back :( I think I could do it if I landed perfectly and jumped at the exact right moment but getting all those aspects right in one go proved to be too much this time
New spot day🔥😂 nice video man! Really enjoy the street content🙌
Glad you liked it :)
Great as usual Ali!! watching @ 4 am and enjoying the quality.
commitment! Thanks for watching :)
Love this 🔥 as always Ali ❤️
When it dries up 😂😂😂
the clarkspin
Love the vids they are always entertaining i was wondering if you would do another cheap bike series with a bike like an onza 👍
I did start a build along this idea but came to a bit of a roadblock...might try and complete it sometime
Its gotta be an Ali-oop!
Super nice riding!
Call that move an Ali-loop!
Parallel Alihop!
Great video.
Amazing 🎉
What a dream spot !!!
Looks like so much fun!!
Loved it Ali..
Every time you post, it gets me so excited to get out on my bike over the weekend! That new spot looks sweet.
I hope you're having a good ride this weekend!
Excellent!
I'm selling my comp trials bike to buy a street bike what do you suggest I buy or what I should look for parts wise if I buy second hand?
I think there's only.one brand Ali will suggest. Just up to you I'd you want 24 or 26. Few inspireds on ebay at the moment.
I'd avoid brands made for competition use, they're good but often bias towards weight saving than reliability. Any bike with decent MTB brands specced is a good shout...Hope, Spank, Truvativ etc
woo yeah
Nice
That move should be called a front brake round exit or "Front Brexit"
trying to turn brexit into something good, I like that :P
@@Ali_Clarkson Yeah. The move is hard, requires tons of effort, isn't really necessary, and you don't know where you'll land. Its perfect.
Love your Vids, big Respect to the Wakeboarders!!!!!!
yeah, they got my respect too!
@@Ali_Clarkson You got my Respeect too, of course. I love your Content, great riding and you are very friendly and great to listen to as well, all the best!!!!
you riding in glasgow this week? i wanna come!!!
maybe, got plans though so not sure how likely it'll be
the bmxer and skater in me can't believe how good that huge spot is
I hope they don't ruin it with anti skate stuff!
@@Ali_Clarkson i am sure someone will bring some anti anti skate stuff tool :-)
😍🔥
Awesome spot! Hope it won't be too crowded when it opens
here's hoping!
8:08 Ali-Loop
Loved the Video! I enjoy the street content
Cheers Jesse :)
Why try not to hit a car if it's not an MX-5?
haha they are all unworthy I guess
cool video
thanks very much :)
holy shit! WHERE?? :D
Looks like the new development at Sighthill.
@@lonoreturns nice, i think i will go there 2 weeks later
@@lonoreturns bingo!
2:46 no way you can go up that lol XD
you just ignated a fire in him
where there's a will there's a way!
@@Ali_Clarkson man, i am so excited to see you do that, but i can't even imagine someone doing it LOL (not even if you bring jack there) XD
If Jack saw your comment Charr we may well have another high spirit funny video soon!
jaysus. you must have worked so hard to become this awesome. mad skills, ali! ♥️
Appreciated thanks!
