That didn’t work. What finally worked for me is: opened the nest app, hit the front door camera icon, went to settings, updated wifi, entered the password again. I then got a message my wifi had been up dated. Worked like a charm. Hope this helps someone.
I'm having trouble getting it to work. I successfully linked my Nest cameras through the Google App and the cameras show up as available on the Google Home Hub. But when I click on the cameras, I just get a spinning loading blue whirl (By the way, I can see the Nest cameras' video through the Google app -- so it seems that part is working). I've factory reset the Hub and unlinked and relinked accounts. Still not working. Thoughts?
I have a Lenovo smart display (upgraded to the latest software and its software is supposed to be identical to google home hub). I tried this trick but still it wouldn't work. The doorbell shows up in my device list and can be connected manually, but it just wouldn't do it automatically when the doorbell is pressed.
Thank you for this. You are smarter than anyone at Google support. I have wasted at least two hours talking to support reps who sent me a wiring diagram for a “chimeless install” (My installation is via ac adapter and they told me I had to attach the chime adapter to complete the circuit - which it turns out is incorrect). When I went through all of the unnecessary steps they suggested, and rewired according to their instructions, it still didn’t work. It would connect to the hub but when I pressed “talk” on the hub, the connection would freeze and I would get a message saying “camera feed not available.” Guess what worked? Unlinking the device in Google Home as per your instructions, and re-linking. Like magic!! So annoyed that the company that makes and supposedly supports this product could not give me accurate information.
Is the Google hub the only smart hub that automatically pops up the nest feed when someone rings the doorbell? Or does the Amazon smart hubs do that as well?
Currently the Google Home Hub is the only smart display that will automatically answer. It only works with the Nest Hello and not the Ring. Also, it appears to only work if you have Nest Aware on the Nest Hello. Hopefully, there will be more options in the future. Thank you for watching!
FIXED thanks for the video. Had exactly the same problems as detailed below but I have fixed it. Here's how. I'm guessing after repeated attempts some links or hangover was left in the system. So... STEP 1 Take a screen shot or write down your sign in email address and passwords in case you need them later. Then... On your controlling device (mobile phone for example) go to settings/apps/ Then find Google Home click Storage and "clear cache" and I also cleared storage. Basically I was looking for AL data from the app to be cleared so when I reinstall it's a CLEAN reinstall. STEP 2 Uninstall the App. STEP 3 On Home Hub hold down the centre of the volume button for10 seconds. This is a hard reboot and will restore the hub back to factory settings. STEP 4 Reinstall the Home Hub app. This is a clean install and I signed in using my original account. Your home hub (HH) will now start to configure. At this point the set up didn't complete and HH said I needed to link my account to HH. I couldn't find a way around this but I basically did the following which seemed to work... In the HH app. Bottom right there is the Account icon Scroll down to "1 local device" which is the HH and at the bottom of the screen it says "link your account" I pressed this and it came up with an error message....:/ Anyway I shut down the app Rebooted my phone Restarted the App Made sure both HH and Nest are in the same room in my case Kitchen Ring the doorbell and BOOM. the HH announces someone is at the front door and auto switched to camera.. Sorry for the detail above Not sure which aspect resolved, was probably the clear memory and cache on the app then a complete CLEAN install that did it. Good luck, Will report back is it stops working 👍
sellgoodeals DIY - Please add a subtitle or add a note to your description that this no longer works as Nest and Home are automatically linked now and you can not unlink your camera in this method.
My issue was the I have two google accounts. one account was the google home app, the other Nest account. I was logging in as the other alternate google sign in. Two different email address. once I put both apps on the same email google account, it set up the nest hello automatically into the home app.
Thank you for posting this video, the unlinking of the doorbell first and then the nest account is critical to making it work. In addition, making sure your wifi connection is strong is very important, the video signal will not work if that is the case. If you you do not have a strong connection, be sure to hardware a wifi extender to the correct location. If the wifi extender is not hardwired and works off of wifi it splits your internet speed in half, rather than giving you your full upload and download speed.
@@sellgooddeals-DIY it's listed there but it says it can't connext to wifi and then the next time I click it it shows the video feed and when I say show me from door it works
Doesn't work. Tried everything. Spoke with Nest support. Spoke with Google support. Neither even knew that this functionality was possible. Returning 3 Google Hubs.
What worked for me. Go to your nest app. Select doorbell device. Click on settings icon at the top. Select visitor announcement. Enable it.
You are a beautiful human being. Thank you!
100 percent this worked for me, thank bro. Didn't have to do what he said to do on this video

Andy have you found a fix for the Lenovo hub yet?

I fixed my issue by
1. Go to google home app.
2. Select device.
3. Go to device settings (gear icon).
4. Turn off Do not disturb
Thank you!!!
Thank you!!!!!!!! This did the trick for me as well! Hours of trying to figure it out! Thank you! That is kind of dumb. Thanks

Hi I tried unlinking but it still does not work, everything else is working fine
When you swipe down from the top of your screen click on cameras do you see the feed from your doorbell?

Verify that your Hub is running version 1.35.136769. Swipe up from the bottom, click gear then click on about device.

I unlinked and linked again and still nothing
