She was a unique actress. After her Oscar nomination, she probably was offered many other roles, but I suppose living in NY and popping in every morning to do a one-act play while she raised her kids was a good niche for her. Plus, to portray an intelligent woman doctor was a rare sight on TV at the time. I'm sure she cringed at the writing at times.
What??? Her first hairstyle was a WIG??? I thought it was her own hair! I liked the early hairstyle that Julia had, but I guess it was too hot wearing a wig under those hot lights. I'm glad she got the role of Julia Hoffman. She was perfect for the part! I'm sorry she died in the mid 1980s! ~Janet in Canada
Thanks for posting this fascinating video! I always remembered the Doctor Hoffman character from DS!
Also, thanks for this. Your videos are loved by true DS fans everywhere.
What! Julian Hoffman as hématologue instead of Julia Hoffman the psychology?!?!? Deferent twist

I wish Robert Gerringer had crossed the line, but I can understand why he didn't, since he probably knew he wasn't going to be on much longer.
