Put your hard rock samples into sand bags. Tie two together and sling over your shoulder. Never carry in your hands that which can be borne on your back. Wisdom from Carlos Castenada. You’re welcome!
Chris, the longer videos are much better. After all it's auzzie gold prospecting. Always pretty cool. I'm a California USA prospector, you can always pick up tips from all the prospector videos. Keep the longer vids coming, it's interesting time killer.
I've watched this one twice now and I just gotta say, it's soo well written and shot, like all of your vids, you seriously should do a documentary using only your content. It's so damn educational and most importantly entertaining! 😊
Here for the education as always ❤👍🏻⚒️🏴 13:15 😳😳 OMG, you can see gold in the quartz vein. That's a huge vein going all the way to the top. See if you can follow it to the surface and maybe dig down from above.
Incredibly entertaining and informative at the same time. This is one of the reasons i'm a patron; it's not much of a donation, however, the idea is that it shows how much I appreciate all this damn hard work. Thanks Chris
Great video! Good training material for people interested in prospecting. As for feeding yourself on the gold fields, my grandfather worked in a hard rock mine around Beechworth. Rabbit would have been a luxury. He said they had parrot pie - horrible - tasted of eucalyptus.
Hello Chris, one more thing, you should rinse your fines . Sharp sand is so much easier to wash , especially in a pan.Fine gold particles fall to the bottom much quicker, regards George
Thanks for passing on your knowledge again. Bloody mountain goat country, my knees couldn't handle that. Hopefully that horse shoe gives you lots of luck. Keep up the great work and see you on the next one. Cheers mate 👌👌👌👍👍👍👍🤜🤛
Terrific video, Chris. Not sure if you did anything different for this one but the production seemed of an even greater quality than usual. All the best.
mate you always have such happy n inspiring videos, most people wouldnt know youve got PTSD unless they have followed you for awhile hope you n Fern are doing ok be safe, watch out for those red-backs
Hi Chris, I saw all that dirty water running out of your rock crusher catch pale. I was just wondering if the very fine gold could possibly run out and on the ground. Maybe put a sluice to catch the water and check what's coming out. I love all your videos, very important work you are doing. Thanks.
I like kitty litter buckets. Being older I find the 3 gal is plenty; they are rectangular so ride easier against the leg, and have better handles. Your mileage may vary.
I have an old Garrett detector from the 90’s that has discrimination settings that will eliminate most of those false positives. Saves lots of digging junk!
One of the wisest men I have had the privilege of claiming as a friend was a former inmate. Whilst serving his time he became very well educated, in the traditional sense. And subsequently He became the older brother I had never had. He has passed on now, but his wisdom still guides to this day. May he rest in peace. On another topic: @Bunnings. Oh, and I almost forgot. The best prospecting gear is the the gear that you cobble together yourself:) You don't have to get much gold to be really happy if you caught it with gear you made yourself😁
Always good to watch these videos you just never know when Gadzee will pop up at the end of your vehicle lol. You was saying about y.t removing things I noticed a few of my comments have disappeared from a few videos of late too. It seems one has to be closely related to a goat climbing up and down those steep areas lol damn looks like you could easily break a leg or worse. See you on the next exciting episode.
And always remember folks bring two pans not just one I went in mining at one point through my pan up the hill and it cracked right in half so always bring a spare you can't weld a gold pan back together it won't work good luck to everyone that attempts to do this for a living 👍😁
Chris, I'm liking your new rocker box, especially for sandy areas with minimal clay. Did you buy it as is, or design it yourself? It caught a lot of really fine gold. It's also a very compact unit that doesn't require much water at all. The ribbed indoor / outdoor carpet is terrific at catching coarse, fine and most flour gold. Where did you get the Jarvie riffle? Is it from Gold Rat or Do All Paul / Adventures in Gold Prospecting in Canada? Or did you have it made locally in Australia? Looking forward to more videos with the new tiny rocker!
I've had a thought...your bunnings buckets have plastic handles so it might be good for your hands to put a wrap of duct tape on them. I don't know if youve tried it already but I thought since the tape is quite resilient so it might make carrying, distances in particular, just a little bit more comfortable
I live in another country. I love these guys content. I do not know what these guys need for underground but, someone who does know what's needed, please send these guys some underground stuff like, lights, hard hat, maybe an air meter for each of them. I am sure someone has these things and more just sitting around, walking by them every day, these guys get excited and kind of seem to not notice the possibility of problems that might be. I am not trying to mom them; I just know the saying. How many times can you poke a bear before it wakes and get you. People send lots of fan mails to these guys but to help them stay a little safer seems to be a need. Light weight simple things might be the difference between seeing a poisonous snake and spiders or getting bit by them. I might be all over the place and wrong but, I just do not think I am way off on this. I am sure there are others that hope they are safe but also make fun content also. I look forward to seeing all the awesome content for a long time. Have a happy day everyone.
Well that was definitely satisfying and informative and that underhand stope (large cavity) had to be quite rich to do all that work. We call it a stope over here in the USA.the deposit they worked was found near the surface they then drove an audit underneath it until they came to the vein and then worked up because it’s easier to use gravity to get the ore down and out instead of killing yourself hoisting it up and out. I’m sooo looking forward to the return trip and results. I know it’s heavy but would dragging your crusher to the mine and concentrating your rock down be worth it??? Even though you didn’t show the total gold weight found it looked close to a gram ? Thanks for sharing Chris see you on the next one👍🏼👊🏼 P.S. that picture you saw of a guy with a shotgun wasn’t to protect the gold that was a guy who caught a shovel dogger on His claim and then forced him at gun point to do all the work and get nothing but his life in return yes??? 😬 😂 😂
Damn I do love these videos! Since the big sluice box you've made at home, I keep on wondering if you could make a high-banker at home? Something with a big pump (bringing plenty of gas), with a nice classification system (and some way to help break-up gravel and clay), an initial layer of wide-ribbed rubber with some chicken/wire mesh on top (for all of the heavy and big stuff that will drop out at the start) followed by a layer of marine carpet/miner's moss with a final layer of some fine-ribbed rubber would be SO COOL! A piece of sheet metal of 1000cm (height) by 150cm (width) does not cost much and the sides could be made using some wood or stuff you've got laying around ;) I do understand why you wouldn't want to do such a long and big project but man, you could process dirt so fast that both you and Gazi would need to shovel and classify tens of buckets.... hehe
That is such a cool mine, I would love to visit that one, I have a weird disjointed dejavu from Gadzees film lol .... Now being a blacksmith I know something about Horse shoes (I'm not a farrier) Blacksmiths put the horse shoe points down over the anvil to let luck fall into the anvil but the Blacksmith and Farrier were the ones that made the horse shoe so the only thing that could imbue the horseshoe with luck....Is the horse...therefore horses are full of good luck aha yes here we have the Yosemite Sam type guy running back and forth between two holes trying to mine and keep people off his claim I just had a quick look at a map of Reedy creek (presuming I have the right one) the largest gold concentrations would actually be where it turns into a lake in the centre of town but of course you can't pan there , and it would be foolish to try since it looks like its reserve land ...we have similar sites in Wales where people have sensibly thought well lets follow it to where it all drops out and theyve ended up in the estuary hauling out tons of gravel and sand then got themselves into trouble for damaging the environment . (Edit I didn't have the right one LOL) I love chasing deposits and possibilities but you always have to mindful of where you are and what youre trying to do. I have a couple of places I want to try near me, but I will have to be careful because the location is a little weird.
I learned what I know by making a lot of mistakes but I did pan out a little over 3 1/2 ounces in the middle of the winter after being in Idaho back in the early 2000's after being diagnosed with renal failure and being given 10 years to live
Was thinking about making a video dumpster diving to find materials to make gold equipment with then take it to the creek. True poor mans mining. Might be something worth trying for content.
Mate, some of those buckets look really heavy, and you are almost as old as we. Please demonstrate safe lifting proceduces, even if it is as light as a feather.
Chris you are the David Attenborough of gold prospecting easy to watch 👍👍
He talks too😊 fast. David talks slower and more dramatic.
@@loisr1560hell, I thought he talks pretty slow on his shoots as compared to off camera for an Oz.
100% ... great way to put it ❤
Sir David Attenborough my all time favorite narrator & agree with your comment
FFS, someone needs to give this guy a show. Great host, great knowledge, great video.
It’s called Vo-Gus Prospecting.
Put your hard rock samples into sand bags. Tie two together and sling over your shoulder. Never carry in your hands that which can be borne on your back. Wisdom from Carlos Castenada. You’re welcome!
Love these long episodes. Keep going boys. Find that candy!!
Chris, the longer videos are much better. After all it's auzzie gold prospecting. Always pretty cool. I'm a California USA prospector, you can always pick up tips from all the prospector videos. Keep the longer vids coming, it's interesting time killer.
The only problem with living in the Motherlode and watching Chris is that I have a terrible desire to crush and pan my neighbors' driveway.....🤣
I will be truthful, I really like the longer videos. From Idaho state USA.
I've watched this one twice now and I just gotta say, it's soo well written and shot, like all of your vids, you seriously should do a documentary using only your content. It's so damn educational and most importantly entertaining! 😊
Great shot from the truck tailgate.
Love the long episodes. Perefect for my lunch break!!!
Thank you for your eloquence and wisdom.
There is no gold near where I live but I love this guy. 🤣
Here for the education as always ❤👍🏻⚒️🏴

I have a request possibly a strange one. " The big wooden sluice you made, add a rocking chair rocker i bet you culd move lots with it. 😮
It would be The Monster Rocker! Might need wheels though, lol.
nice mine and gold thank you for sharing the adventure and information.
That rockerbox is a sweet setup!
Thanks for sharing
🙏❤️🌲

The best gold discovery, friends...! Very inspiring and motivating ..Excellent 🇲🇨⚒️⛏️💎✋🌼👍
Wow! That tin is worth some serious money!
I'd be mining the creek for the TIN!
Great show, appreciate your informative narration throughout…
Thanks for passing on your knowledge again. Bloody mountain goat country, my knees couldn't handle that. Hopefully that horse shoe gives you lots of luck. Keep up the great work and see you on the next one. Cheers mate 👌👌👌👍👍👍👍🤜🤛
Salve salve grande guerreiro vo-gus 💎⛏️🇧🇷
Great results from the quartz you dug out. Looking forward to seeing how this adventure progresses. Thanks for sharing your adventures Chris 🌄
Now we're talkin hell yeah gettn the gold baby🤩👍
There needs to be a
"Be my sample!" Shirt 😂
Thanks Chris!
Awesome adventure you two! Always a pleasure tuning in ✨🇨🇦
The problem with steep, slippery downhill slopes is that you have to go back up them and gravity pulls you down.
Terrific video, Chris. Not sure if you did anything different for this one but the production seemed of an even greater quality than usual. All the best.
10:52 Yay! Gadzeeeeeeeee! 👍😉😊♥️
I learn so much from your videos. Thanks ❤
ALL HAIL THA HARD ROCK!!!
HELL YEAH BROTHER!!!
WOO HOO!!!
Those insects that are flying around you in the mine, look like they could drain you of blood in one sitting or at least fly you away! Very cool mine!
Hmmmm be my example! Love it.
Great video as always Chris. Thanks for all you do.
Excellent video, I'm just starting to learn and I am enjoying your content thankyou.
I enjoy your content and watch all the time. Keep up the good work.
I like what you did with the old sluicy "the striker" I still use mine, sometimes 👍. Great video as usual.
Very interesting and informative
Thanks for another banger Chris
Excellent video Chris,top notch!
Mate you keep it so simple but so efficient
Keep it coming 😂 👍👍👍
Always interesting vid! Educational credit to us for watching.

Here's a comment for the algorithm 😊

On another topic: @Bunnings. When are you going to sponsor Chris?
Buckets: Bunnings
Water tank classifier: Bunnings
Shovels: Bunnings
Odds and ends: Bunnings.
Get on board!
Oh, and I almost forgot. The best prospecting gear is the the gear that you cobble together yourself:) You don't have to get much gold to be really happy if you caught it with gear you made yourself😁
I am happy to see this tool, very satisfying
Good to see that sponsorship has come through with that extra bucket there. 😏😉
And that rain tank organic catcher.. now turned classifier is the best.
Good video 🎉
Top vid, lots of info, cheers.
Good fun, thanks
Great video. Keep up the good work
I always enjoy your content🎉🎉🎉 thank you
Amazing, very good, good lucky

Great video dude , learn so much from you 🤙
Love ypur channel! Great atuff
That was a Great Video!
Awesome stuff, always learning as usual. Thank you
Chris, you have motivated me to try my hand at alluvial prospecting. Also watch Flour Gold Wizards , here in WISCONSN, USA
And always remember folks bring two pans not just one I went in mining at one point through my pan up the hill and it cracked right in half so always bring a spare you can't weld a gold pan back together it won't work good luck to everyone that attempts to do this for a living 👍😁

Split a hunk of garden hose that fits your hand well, tape over the hanfle. Very nice.
Stirs my patriotism, keep doin strayan mate.

If you take some copper wire and bend a hook into it. Then hang it in your bucket. The buckets come apart easily
All ways good info Chris. lol 😂 beee my example 😂

aha yes here we have the Yosemite Sam type guy running back and forth between two holes trying to mine and keep people off his claim
I just had a quick look at a map of Reedy creek (presuming I have the right one) the largest gold concentrations would actually be where it turns into a lake in the centre of town but of course you can't pan there , and it would be foolish to try since it looks like its reserve land ...we have similar sites in Wales where people have sensibly thought well lets follow it to where it all drops out and theyve ended up in the estuary hauling out tons of gravel and sand then got themselves into trouble for damaging the environment . Chris buddy,I think you found the end of the hose the beginning is hooked to the spigot, just kidding mate, hard rock prospecting is pretty cool
How about after classification of Reedy Creek, a Batea pan? Then?
I see your useinf the hose pipe now. Did you sort the water and dust out in the end then ?
love it keep up the good work
Really was hoping to see you check your tailings and your classified pile.
No point man, you're going to have to trust me that there's no big gold on this creek.
Haha I kinda figured that was why. I was just curious. Thanks for noticing me. ~Eeyore~ @@VoGusProspecting
You have a PHD in prospecting. You Pile it Higher and Deeper!
Up in the palmer it's Schneider 577 bullets. They were, unfortunately, rarely used for hunting. :(
good vid
4 in the morn, here in east coast america, never seen a viddy so fast
you need some mozzie spray for that cave
You still have mix bottle lol 😂
Perfecto
E79 resources may help with depth ,, dunno mate 😂 all the best.
So in our game of hard rock mining, we call the roof The backs
